Kansas City on verge of getting Surtain
nodnarb replied to Like A Mofo's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
The chiefs just became saban's beotch. WORST TRADE EVER. surtain is one of the most overrated CBs in the NFL. Only charles woodson is more overrated. Fuggin saban...I have a feeling that it won't take long for miami to become the most hated team again. -

it's not so much about surtain. It's about the fact that MIAMI WOULD HAVE BEEN FORCED TO RELEASE him by June 1st. And then the Chiefs could have picked him up without sacrificing a draft pick. There was NO WAY that saban was going to keep surtain. -

Fug the chiefs for being so stupid as to bail miami out of a horrid cap situation and by taking a guy that saban absolutely did NOT want on his team. In a draft FULL of good CB prospects. DUMB, DUMB, DUMB. Fuggin Chiefs. -
if the vikings do this they are the dumbest team in teh fuggin league. Why trade two value first round slots for a spot NOONE IN THEIR RIGHT MINDS WANTS TO TRADE INTO? WTF ARE THEY THINKING?

Yup. Raiders will be tough. But they still need a real running back (Travis?) and decide what to do with the underachieving woodson. But yea. They've done a great job this offseason. You can't argue that Moss is the best WR in the league. the players don't think of him as a 'cancer' and you can't argue his production. -
vinny cerrato sounds like a bloody boob. and he is.

East Coast Reporting More?!
nodnarb replied to BillsFanForever19's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
that deal, plus that awful, awful website, discredit anything you'll read there, in my opinion. Rule #1 in web design: Don't make the user download a bunch of gratuitous java applets and animations. Rule #2: Don't make users read colored text on a black background. Rule #3: Don't suck in every single aspect of design. That site breaks all 3 cardinal rules. ANd giving up #55 and Travis Henry for the #35 pick seems a wee bit insane. It's more likely that the Bills would claim their #35 straight up for Travis. -
a simple search would net you that information.

It's now official: The Washington Redskins are the dumbest team in the NFL. Snyder is the biggest tool of an owner, and Gibbs is going to stumble back into retirement a complete failure, with his tail between his legs. Trading away your #1 pick (Which Denver clearly and wisely believes will be a high one) in 2006 to get ANOTHER first round pick in this middle-heavy draft is absurd. And you know why they did it? Snyder is a sucker for hype, and he wants to draft Matt Jones. I'll bet anything that's who they take if someone doesn't leapfrog them. Snyder is THAT easy to read.

the current cast of SNL is so bad, this show isn't worth watching. It has gotten so bad it's hard to believe they're even on the air anymore. That falconer sketch and Tom Brady's house of felafel had absolutely no comic value whatsoever. The falconer had to be the most poorly written and executed sketch I've seen in years. If it weren't for Robert Smigel's fun house, there would be nothing left to air. His stuff is almost always hilarious. Nothing else on the show is. Hard to imagine how some of those sketches were considered the cream of the crop of their ideas for the week. I think any one of us could gather up five friends to outsketch this bunch. pathetic.

Clements to washington for #9 plus per espn radio?
nodnarb replied to MartyBall4Buffalo's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
sure we can, cable. in fact, we'd be better off because the rookie pool is a cap within a cap that allows teams that are even right up against the cap to sign their players. we'd have plenty of room to sign the #9. This would be BRILLIANT on the part of the bills for two reasons: 1. Clements will be the #1 FA CB next year. Look at the FA schedule next season: He's going to be the most in demand by a long shot. Franchising him will be risky, and we might only get a #2 in trade. Clements is not just a great cover corner with great ball skills, he's one of the most instinctive punt returners you'll see. He has tons of value that the Bills should cash in when they have the chance. 2. This would allow us to play the draft like a fiddle and get the guys we want, from OLinemen like Spencer or Baas or Jammal Brown to a WR like Mark Clayton or Matt Jones, perhaps even TE HEath Miller in the 2nd round. -
If Gruden falls for Saban's obvious ploy
nodnarb replied to nodnarb's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
why -
and none of them will be complementary. The talk is that Saban is expressing interest in drafting Alex Smith, when everyone knows he just wants more picks and wants to get the hell out of the #2 spot. If Gruden falls for this bait I won't know whether to laugh or send him hate mail for giving miami a free pick. Alex Smith will still be there at the bucs pick. Saban is blowing smoke up his little red-hair flecked ass. Gotta love the pre-draft smokescreens.

we don't want simms. we don't need simms. gives us a 2nd round pick and call it a deal.
-
FWIW http://msn.foxsports.com/named/FS/NFL I hope we trade him to the eagles over any other option, because they have a zillion choices in this draft and are probably the most willing to part with a late 2nd or early 3rd. They need a tough runner. Westbrook is small and nifty but doesn't pack a punch. This would probably net the bills the best value. They have two 2nds and two 3rds. lick your chops, td.

I see the interest in Henry is picking up
nodnarb replied to todd's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
the people who called TD dumb are dumb. -
The point of my posting this is, we're changing the TYPE of lineman to suit JP. Bledsoe is gone, and now the offensive line needs to be adjusted accordingly. JOnas was a great passblocker but did you ever see him at the second level, let alone the 3rd? Marcus price was solid against the bull rush but he wasn't that good with the faster edge rushers and was flat awful in the run game. He's way too top heavy. The new guys are bulkier, meaner, run blockers first, pass blockers second. It's interesting stuff. Have faith in our coaches. They know what they're doing. http://www.nfl.com/draft/story/8387948

Precisely. All the armchair GMs should finally wake up to the realization that TD knows what he's doing and he's exceptional at it. TH's value will rise further during the draft. We'll get that extra pick. -
I have a feeling mularkey covets matt jones and they'll do what it takes to get him. last year they knew which teams were interested in losman and weren't afraid to leap frog them to get the guy they wanted. That's my guess, anyway.
-
This is probably common knowledge but
nodnarb replied to Beerball's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
so you should ask yourself, with measurables like that, why didn't he flat out dominate at the college level? answer: he has great potential, athletically, but is not that great a football player, and/or he lacks real desire. this is the kind of guy who will probably be changed by the money, and might be the next kenyatta walker. -
the one thing that's annoying is that miami and the pats both get a bye week before they play us. it seems the pats get that on us every damn year.

Somewhat. Predictions? Oh. SUN 9/11 HOUSTON AT BUFFALO 1:00p (ET) Houston is tough, and they seem to always come up big in week 1. The Bills will have their hands full, that's for sure. Home team advantage (W) SUN 9/18 BUFFALO AT TAMPA BAY 1:00p (ET) The Bucs have started slow for two straight years and I bet they continue to. Gruden doesn't scare me. man that's a terrible article. doesn't even get his facts right. jonas was our best pass blocker, but he wasn't very good in the run game and was never into the second level. Jonas is good for protecting a pocket passer. he's not good for a power running game. and how about this sentence: "Mike Pucillo, a backup Guard, is a Restricted Free Agent, but don't expect any offers, he should return to Buffalo next year." Which is it, a guy who shouldn't expect an offer, or a guy who will be back in Buffalo? This is a good example of the explosion of amateur nfl pundits out there and how few good ones there are.
