  1. Easy answer to this thread starter: He's better than Losman, and has shown more in his first two years than many of today's best in their first two years, both Mannings included. Trent needs to focus his attention on parsing the 34 defense this offseason. When he can read that scheme on the fly and make adjustments that the coaches can't due to the expiration of the headset mike (most defensive alignment changes and cues come in this period, forcing QBs to make the decisions) then I believe he'll be a top 10 QB in the league, and someone we'll be very proud of. Losman will remain Losman. I believe we've already seen his ceiling, and it's not high enough to ever be a starter in this league. He will be a career backup - I'll take any wager on that.
  2. Dude, if you're gonna try to make a point, at least have some data to back it up.
  3. It won't happen then, either.
  4. Ain't happening, guys. Jauron will at least coach out his new contract. Interesting though that it all went to hell after the contract was signed. I don't think there's anything to it, personally. Jauron is a class act and a really good guy that everyone on the team respects...but he has yet to prove that his contract was the extension was the right path for the team. Tough for me to say, too. I really like DJ.
  5. Thought of another bright spot: The Sabres can still make the playoffs.
  6. It does hurt. Fans should be pissed. We just lost to one of the worst teams in the league. Which makes us one of the worst teams in the league. The hot start gave us a false sense of how good we are. But look at the teams we beat - look at their records. That tells the real story.
  7. * I can officially watch games emotionally detached now. We know we're not good, and any wins here on in will be a mild upside surprise. * We know that JP still plays like JP. This is positive because knowledge is power. * JP Losman has legs, but he can't use them effectively. This is positive because he might have a future selling mobility scooters. * Our coaches, all of them, have yet to prove that they can effectively strategize in-game. Half of the Bills fan base called a better game from their couches, so that's a positive. * Marshawn really is a beast, no question about that. * We'll be less pissed tomorrow. Okay, maybe Tuesday. To lose at home to the hapless 9ers, with an interim head coach, is so embarrassing I'm at a loss for words.
  8. Great to see Leodis having a heckuva game, despite the mistake on the Gonzo TD. And that TD by Edwards was one of those "Great if he makes it, Dumb play if he doesn't" TDs. But I like that he had the confidence and balls to try.
  9. Like it or not, the "real deal" is Belichick. He makes his players the real deal. He's the best tactician in the league, and possibly the best of all time. There's a reason that you never quite feel any relief when you hear that certain Patriots are injured. The next guys in line play well, almost invariably. Players rejected by other teams go there and play like superstars. Belichick sees things in the game that most coaches don't. I wish it weren't true.
  10. Wow, the increase in the number of these posts definitely speaks to a growing sense of a "hope headfake". Bills fans thought they had something after week 6, but it's clear that we'll have an uphill battle to make the playoffs yet again. There are definitely some heart issues and coaching issues that have emerged, no doubt. And we're all rightfully sick of getting out coached and out classed by the Patriots, year after year after year we're swept. But come on. Fans are tested just as players are tested. It hurts, so suck it up. Good times and bad. Good times and bad.
  11. This is some of the worst defensive playcalling I've seen in a while. When the clock is your enemy and you're down two scores, YOU HAVE TO TAKE SOME RISK! YOU HAVE TO EARN A VICTORY, and you can't do that by playing a soft zone and continually giving them dinks and dunks for first downs. CHANGE IT UP FOR GOD'S SAKE!
  12. Cassell has been sacked more than any other QB per game. I read that somewhere but I'm not sure. Either way, he's getting sacked. Until today. Fewell's strategy for this game is suspect. It is clearly going on the assumption that Cassell can't beat them with underneath stuff. But Cassell is beating us with underneath stuff. His jersey is spotless.
  13. This one will be ugly before it's all over. The bottom line is, their coaches are better. They're better strategists, tacticians, and preparers for critical situations. I say this despite being a fan of Jauron. It's just the truth. And if you look back at the teams we've beaten, they're all teams that are stuggling. Every one of 'em. We're not quite as good as we thought. Until they beat a hot team that they're not supposed to beat, I will continue to suspend my disbelief. The playoffs are looking less and less likely by the week. Our division is tougher than I think anyone predicted. All of the above sucks.
  14. If this is a shot at Lynch's skill/ability, you can't be serious. If this is a shot at our inability to consistently open even small holes for him, then I agree. The running game has been a MAJOR disappointment so far. These guys think they're better than they are.
  15. The ball was underthrown. That's why it wasn't a TD. Way too many long-developing plays today and not enough quick passes. The Bills were out-blocked and out-schemed today.
  16. Ridiculous. Can you people please stop spawning?
  17. anyone have any idea where lynch is?
  18. said it before, but miami is much better than they're given credit for, and it has a lot to do with Parcells. Miami will get better and better in the coming years, unfortunately. And pennington is often called 'noodle arm' , and it might be true in cold windy conditions, but he's still a very good qb, and the jets were dumb to cut him with no comp.
  19. http://www.nfl.com/partner?partnerType=gam...=REG&week=7 sorry if it has already been posted. Good stuff...
  20. I hope JP doesn't read the papers. "Trent is playing as well or better than any quarterback in this league right now," said safety Donte Whitner, "as far as getting the ball out, not turning the ball over and being efficient with what he's doing. "I'm very confident in Trent. In the past it was tough because you didn't know exactly what you were going to get from the offense. You didn't know if you were going to get points, so you almost had to play perfect on the defense side of the ball. And once you try to play perfect, you make mistakes. "So with Trent out there I don't have any worries at all. I sit on the bench, drink a little water, a little Gatorade and I glance over at the scoreboard. We need him out there. I felt like if we had him for the entire game against Arizona we might be sitting here talking about a 6-0 football team instead of 5-1. I really believe that." When that message was relayed to Edwards he seemed surprised. "He really said that?" he asked. "That means a lot. You know what it is: The defense isn't putting us in bad spots. In the Arizona game we were down three or four touchdowns, and that's definitely a bad spot for the offense. http://www.sportsline.com/nfl/story/11047927
  21. Seems to me that whenever Jackson touches the ball, good things happen. Really a unique and slippery talent.
  22. Game ball: Kavika Mitchell. 2 plays that changed the game. I guess they'll say we're for real now.
  23. Pumped? *PUMPED*? That song shrank my balls. And a tip: a slideshow of previously seen photographs does absolutely nothing to the supply or delivery of fan adrenaline. I mean, come on...
  24. Let it be. Won't hurt us in the standings. Also: If anyone doubts Miami, you probably won't for long. I believe they'll finish no worse than 3rd in the div, and possibly 2nd. They are led by one of the best of all time. Parcells understands personnel like nobody else in the game today. They are going to get better and better. He always improves the team he works for, and Miami will be no different. It was a bad day in Billsville when Parcells was hired there. I was hoping he'd retire once and for all.
