This is the last time JP's on the Bills sideline.......

And there was much rejoicing... -
What bugs me about Losman most is his self-delusion. http://myespn.go.com/blogs/afceast/0-4-575...-in-demand.html

Turk was right in what he said, even if it wasn't right TO say it. You might not like the call, but Jauron's explanation of the situation is perfectly reasonable. The point is that if it's not there, you dump it off or throw it away. How many times has JP fumbled away a key play? Probably more than anyone his age. So if there was a mistake in the playcall, it was giving it to JP specifically. But if he had done the smart thing and either a. audibled to a run, or b. thrown in away, or c. tuck and run We would probably be talking about a win today. I'm not sold on Turk, far from it. He has deserved the criticism to date. But JP is a losing QB who is dreaming if he thinks he's going to be a starter in the league for anyone other than a rebuilding team like the Lions looking for someone to keep the seat warm for their 2009 draft pick. Losman is practically blind on the field. That's his main problem. A sense that he's better than he really is is problem #2, and that one affects everything else.

that's another thing you can always count on when watching losmanball: 5-15 yard throws thrown too high, too low, too hard, and never too soft. Touch he ain't got. losmanball. yay!
-
the one thing you can always count on when watching Losmanball is this: Our RBs will get pounded trying to catch short routes cuz JP's timing and ball position blows.

Losmanball! Yay! Patpatpat Sack! Yay!

I said it before the season started and Miami was being written off. They will be contenders, and the #1 reason is Parcells. Many hate the guy, perhaps because he beat us in That Game. But the day Parcells was hired by Miami, my shoulders sank. As if it wasn't hard enough with Belichick in our division. Parcells is as good as anybody alive at building teams. He knows how to find players better than anybody. When he was hired in Dallas, that team was a joke. Look at the talent there now. Romo, Witten, Ware, Barber...the list is long. He's doing the same in Miami; he's building a team that can and will beat New England. Hell, they've done it already, at Gillette, and the Bills haven't done it in five years. Part of the problem the Bills have going forward, beyond the internal issues: Two of the very best minds in the game, EVER, are leading teams in our division. Hate them as much as you want, but these are undeniable. "Inconvenient Truths", so to speak. Parcells pulls a lot more strings down there than he discusses. It's his nature, and he's good at it. I honestly believe: The only way the Bills will have another shot at The Big Game, in the next five years...lure Parcells out of Miami and give him full control of the Bills operation, including coaching. Maybe he's too old, maybe he wouldn't want the job. But short of that, or Cowher, I don't see anybody out there who can beat Belichick and Parcells at least 3 times (3/4 games, establishing an edge). To get There from our division requires elite coaching, because we have two first ballot Hall of Famers standing in our way. It's going to take like minds to beat these guys. I really like Dick Jauron, but if Wilson wants to win a SB in his lifetime, he had better recognize what's in our way, and take action to match wits with these guys. Right now, it's not a fair fight.

I laughed when I read that first line because honestly, it's funny. Touche. But it's not really a concession speech. I've only called for people to not give up on the guy, and I've pointed out that I like him for several reasons. But I don't believe I've ever said that he has proven himself the elite tactician/strategist that you MUST be to win games in the playoffs (let alone make them). It's easy to criticize easy targets like seemingly dim Mularkey and the egomaniac Gregg Williams. But Jauron really is a good guy of the game, respected universally. I'm starting to wonder, however, if that respect is because he's a really nice guy, rather respect as a Football Mind. Know what I mean? I'm not in favor of replacing DJ *UNLESS* a coach is available who has won a superbowl. That's a thin crop. Brian Billick is not an option. That was won by the rarest of good defenses. His offense (his part of the team) was BRUTAL. Bills brutal. So who else has a Lombardi that's alive and unemployed? Cowher, yes. But who else? Sigh...

If the Bills had ANY sense, they would have put in Hamdan as soon as they saw this typical Losman script playing out in front of us. We should be huddling together as fans, tired and exhausted by the same old story playing out each week; that is, whenever we play a team with a winning record, and sometimes when we play a team with a losing record as well. You need elite coaching in this league, and while I like DJ, he and his staff have proven nothing. Nothing.

Wow, Schonert isn't learning. RUN IN THE REDZONE, DAMMIT! IS IT THAT HARD?! That was a terrible fade throw by losman, by the way. -

Perfect story for the day: An unknown miami DE, beats the Annointed Jason Peters on a critical play to put us out of FG range. These things don't happen to good teams. Well, at least not as often as it does to the Bills. Wow, I've turned SOUR! Call it Fan Exhaustion. You feel it, too. -

Bottom line: The Bills that we all try so hard to for, are an unwatchable product. An unwatchable product as we enter the worst recession in decades: Troubling. -

This is brutal. But you had to know that it would be. Losman can't read a defense, Turk has lost whatever touch he once had with this offense, and Fewell is always unprepared for something that the other team is doing. Why else do you think we tend to give individual players career days more than just about any other team? It's getting harder and harder to defend Jauron. Nice guy though. -

yet to impress me: Perry Fewell -
Does this board implode if Losman...

Doesn't matter - it won't happen. We all know what Losman brings, and it ain't enough. That's why he's headed for career backuphood. Nice guy though. -

We're going to get creamed on both sides. We will be talking about the draft very soon. The 2008 season will be known as: The Headfake But hey, it's okay. Still think the direction is up. Forward. Better. -
bandit, you're right, I wasn't specific enough. Those teams were indeed better, all around - I had both of their rookie seasons in mind, not their second, and comparing them to Edwards stats this year, his first as a starter from the beginning. So not a very clean comparison on my part. Nevertheless...Edwards' struggles have come against 34 defenses only...that's where his study should focus. It doesn't help him that we have a first-year coordinator who is learning on the job. He's going to be a good one. It's not his fault that the Bills have sucked for years and fans have grown so impatient.
-
"Pennington dont have a very strong arm" yes, Pennington doesn't have a very strong arm, but he's smart, understands the game, makes quick reads, and knows how to read and exploit. To compare Pennington to Tebow is a joke. Wake up! Do you realize how many college QBs just like Tebow have come and gone? Tebow is not at all rare, and I'll take any bet that he is not a starter in the NFL.
-
Hahaha...every year there's one of these posts. It's a really good things fans don't run the show. There would be 80% turnover every year, zero continuity, zero chemistry, and many consecutive first-overall picks. Tebow? Pleeease...how many of these types of QBs must be seen withering in the NFL before fans start to get it?
