Would anyone care if the NHL folded
Hooligan replied to Nick in RaChaCha's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
There's more you can do, no touch icing to speed up the game aswell. Change the offside rule to go back like in the good ol days. Full penalty time served. You do a mistake you serve the whole time. Even if the other team scores you still serve your time until the last second. this will have another effect that a player will thenk three times before committing a penalty, which in turn will open up and speed up the game. -

That is true, we can't compete with the US money. Which is sad. The thing that bothers me me the most is that there is no love of the game anymore, ther eis just love the the dollar. That goes for almost any sport. -

they wouldn't be getting the same money as they are now but they would get a decent amount. You forget Canada is crazy about their hockey. All games would be sold out and concessions sales would be nice. We'd also be spending in Canadian $ which would make a difference. But I agree that it wouldn't be the same money as in the NHL -

Being from Canada, HELL YEAH I want hockey to come back. Someone mentionned earlier that it was the players fault that the league is in the position it is in right now. That is completely absurd. It's the owners fault the league is losing money. Who is the one that signed all these contracts. Boby Holik making 9 million dollars a season????? does it make sense?? Patrice Brisebois making 4 million, the list could go on and on. Now this is not to say that I am on the players side in the argument. In fact I am with the owners. I think the league needs a salary cap. It will not sruvive without it. Another thing, all you people saying they should get rid of the fighting in hockey???? Fighting has ALWAYS been part of the game, watch tapes from the 1920's and you'll see some fighting. And I don't understand how Americans would not like that. Of course the game is turning boring nowadays, but that is mainly the east coast style of playing that is axed on defensive play. Watch the West coast style of play, it's more open. During the last playoffs did anyone see the Calgary vs. Vancouver series??? OH man, was that a great series, non stop up and down. I got a plan B if the NHL can't get out of it. Take all 6 Canadian teams Add Winnipeg and Quebec and have an all Canadian league. hehehe -
Not too hate or naything but C sounds just about right in my book

Roll Call for Bills at Ravens this weekend.....

Quick question, now I've never been to a game so I wouldn't know. But from what I can think isn't it better to sit in the nosebleeds to actually see the whole field and see the routes and such??? If I'm wrong please correct me 'cause I'm gonna be coming down to Buffalo for a game. Like this I could know more or less where I wanna sit -

Anyone know where I could find some....
Hooligan replied to Hooligan's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
damn, thanks man, didn't know that existed -
I was supposed to get 3 tickets for the game on Sunday. (I'd be driving from Montreal for the day and then go back home) But my guy has not been answering his phone for all this week. And I still wanna go down to watch the game. I just read that the game is sold out so that kinda makes my life a little harder. Would any of you know where I could possibly find tickets from? Wanna experience what all this talk about tailgaiting is.

I'm form Montreal. When I was younger, I'd say somewhere around 88-89, I sat down a sunday afternoon with my older brother and he was wathicng football. He was a big Miami fan. I was watching the game, it was in buffalo, Kelly had just returned from an injury and they were playing in snow. Buffalo won that game, and I remember telling my brother that look at thet guy he is better then Marino (little did i know that the weather could affect stuff like that) Since Buffalo won and they were playing in snow (I love snow) and to go against my brother, I became a buffalo fan. Ever since my frist football game I've watched. Never turned back, even after 4 SB's (would make a kid not like a team anymore) upsets I still stuck with the team. Been like that since I was a kid. I like one team I stick with them untl the end. P.S. Another thing that got me hooked as I started wathcing was B. Smith. What a beast that guy i loved him, and of course all wonder boys of that time. I remember being having Bryce Paup on our team also afterwards.

A Parcells or a Couglin...
Hooligan replied to nick in* england's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
guys not to burst your bubble or antyhing, but TD is too much of a proud man to go and change the coach so fast. Don't expect a new coach for awhile. Of course unless we get a new GM this summer -
...trick play they use when they throw it to moulds behind the line of scrimmage. I mean come on, They've tried this since the beginning and NEVER were able to pull it off. Practice it or just don't use the stupid play anymore.

Yeah I love Minnesota 'cause it's a real hockey town. Look out how many American players come out of there. -

yeah, sad but true. For example, last season there was the first ever outdoor NHL game!!!! it was showed coast to coast in Canada. Tens of thousands of fans were outside sitting in -30 weather for HOURS with their blankets watching first the old timers game then the regular game between Edmonton and Montreal. Sadly though not one US Network aired that game. Canadians may not be as rich as the american teams (besides Toronto) but their fans are hardcore -

Alright, First time posting on this board and I never thought it would be about hockey. I'm from Montreal, Canada. And up here Hockey is a religion. Go anywhere in Canada and you know you'll be able to talk hockey with pretty much anyone you meet. Us up here don't have a rating problem or people don't care. WE INVENTED THIS SPORT, we care as hell, it's gonna be a long winter without it. Canadians everywhere are going insane at this lockout. I know it's not the same in the Staes because hockey is not regarded the same way as say football or baseball. I tend to side with the owners on this matter but also at the same time they are the idiots that put themselves in this mess. Teams could disappear and frankly that would be a good thing for hockey. Too many stupid teams for nothing in the NHL. What does the desert have to do with hockey anyway?????
