  1. Since we're reading between the lines, I'm going to also convince myself that the Hawks were offering Lofa Tatupu. MAN, I CAN'T BELIEVE WE PASSED UP ON TATUPU!!!!!! IDIOTS!!!!!!!!!

  3. Reading comprehension isn't your strength is it?
  4. In 2008 LenDale White had 15 TDs while Chris Johnson had 9. I guess LenDale White was a better player than Chris Johnson.
  5. You're right, Lynch's off field issues don't make Freddy a better Rb. Fred Jackson's better YPC in 2007, 2008 and 2009 than Lynch, his better fumble/carry ratio, his number of receptions over the last three seasons and his Yards per catch make him a better RB than Lynch.
  6. Well, you're just a saint aren't you. Unfortunately you're int he minority. I would not go in if it wasn't manditory, because my job is my source of income, and my life outside of work is my enjoyment. I earn my money by working hard while I am at work, and don't feel the need to show up on random Saturdays unpaid just to prove my loyality. And, if you would have read any of this thread, you would realize I am not a Lynch fan. I actually really dislike the guy. But his absense from VOLUNTARY mini-camp isn't on the list of reasons why I dislike him. Maybe it gives you some satisfaction to believe in the whole "52 bigger than 1" and "every guy on this team would play for free, because they love the game", but the reality is, this is their job. Reggie Wayne never goes to voluntary workouts in Indy, do you think he'll be out of the league in a few years because of it? If Lynch is gone in 2 years and broke, it won't be because he didn't show up to voluntary workouts.
  7. If your boss said, "you don't have to come in on Saturday, but if you want to you can...." I'm sure you would just show up with the pride of your job in mind ...right? How much these guys are paid is irrelevant. They have a collective bargaining agreement in place which affords them the luxury to stay away from the majority of Spring Football.
  8. What's blatantly retarded is your ability to see what's right in front of your face. He was demoted to second string last year. They then went out and spent the 9th pick in the draft on a RB. So, if he isn't the 2nd string back, then that means Spiller is, and I don't think they drafted Spiller 9th to ride pine. If you are foolish enough to believe Spiller's only contributions will come in receptions, then I would venture to guess you have never seen him play. Spiller will be on the field in many different roles. WR, Slot, HB...maybe even wildcat QB. Jackson will see the majority of the carries. So, yes...when you factor in touches in the offensive gameplan, Lynch will be the 3rd most used RB, thus making him.......wait for it.........wait for it........Third String.
  9. I think our starters will be Q- Edwards RB- Jackson RB- Spiller WR- Evans WR- Hardy TE- Nelson LT- Meredith LG- Levitre C- Hangartner RG- Wood RT- Green ( people are so conditioned to see a Fb in the starting lineup, but most teams don't even do that anymore. FOr example, the Colts list 2 Te's in their starting lineup, and the Saints list Reggie Bush and Pierre Thomas) DE- Edwards DT- Williams DE- Stroud OLB- Maybin ILB- Poz ILB- Davis OLB- Ellis CB- McKelvin CB- McGee FS- Byrd SS- Whitner PR- Parrish KR- Spiller K- Lindell P- Moorman
  10. I'm sorry to let the facts get in the way of your blind love for Lynch, but Jackson averaged 4.5 a carry last year, while Lynch was at 3.7. The past 3 seasons, Jackson has had a higher YPC average than Lynch, rather Lynch is getting the bulk of the carries ( '07, '08) or Jackson is ('09). Even though Lynch had 100 less carries, he still fumbled the ball 3 times, the same as Jackson. So his fumble ratio is worse. And even though Lynch has far more playing time than Jackson over the last 3 seasons, Jackson has more receptions and a higher yards per reception average. Again, sorry to bring facts into this dilusional love you feel for Lynch So, I'd love to hear how you justify "By far the better RB"
  11. Who cares. He's a knucklehead who has shown no ability to control his life off the field. I would love to see him turn his career around, but last year's demotion followed by this year's draft indicate his turn around will not be in Buffalo, despite what happens in 2010.
  12. Yay! Now we can all relax. Our 3rd string RB is officially on board.
  13. I love how people still think Poz is a bad LB, when all of the statistics and film breakdowns point to him being among the best in football. Just the other day Tim Graham wrote an article saying Poz was one of the surest tacklers in the game. But some people will never be able to see past his skin color.
  14. http://www.nickmendola.com "Looking at the way that we work now and the way that we worked as a group collectively before, yes. Totally, yes.”
  15. Not exactly anybody's idea of help. I want to see Edwards win the job. I think he has the most upside in 2010, and has shown the ability to play at a relatively high level (at times) even with a poor supporting cast. I'm at least intrigued to see what Gailey can do with him. Fitz is a bum, I've never been sold on Brohm...he was a system product of Bobby Petrino at Louisville.....and Levi Brown....well.....maybe some day.
  16. "Hey, this is a video game, not reality, WTF does this have to do with football?" ( There, I got it out of the way. Now there is no reason for any uptight posters to come on here and spew ridiculously obvious insults at the rest of us who enjoy Madden for what it is) ___________ http://espn.go.com/espn/thelife/videogames...dmore=fullstory Good article on Spiller and how he is excited to play as himself in Madden. 95 speed 97 acceleration. Man, if Buffalo had a real Qb, they would be one of the more popular teams in the game with 2 WR's having 95+ speed and a RB having 95+ speed.
  17. Unfortunately, shaky QB play and LT play are enough to bring down the best offenses....and the Bills are merely an average offense even if you don't factor QB and LT into the equation. Maybe Gailey's playcalling and experience will uncover some hidden gems, but unless one of our 4 QB's elevates their game, it's going to be another long season in my opinion.
  18. I don't pretend to watch hours upon hours of college football leading up to the draft like some people on here claim....but I do have a couple connections in the NFL scouting circles whom I pick the brain of every year pre-draft. For what it's worth, I specifically asked both of them about Spiller prior to the Bills taking him, and they both said that while he has the speed and elusiveness to be a gamebreaker, he also has plenty of college game tape where he shows a willingness to run inside, an understanding of showing patience, waiting for his blocking to develop and unlike a lot of 4.2 speed backs, he understands not every play is a 60 yard run, and he does a great job of keeping his offense on schedule. Just an FYI. Reggie Bush never ran inside at college. Also, for what it's worth....if Reggie Bush were on the Bills, he would still be one of our top 5 players.
  19. In the part you quoted, he said definitely once and obviously once. Nice try though.
  20. lol Jim doesn't get a vote. He's a former player. Not a member of the front office or the coaching staff. I don't think Reggie Jackson is filling out lineup cards for Joe Giradi, I don't see Karl Malone making roster cuts for the Utah Jazz and I don't believe, no matter how much Bills fans want to make him untouchable, Jim Kelly has any say-so in who the QB is. Kelly had a great career. Not as great as some would like to believe, but great nonetheless. It's over now. Does Joe Montana go stand on the sidelines at 49ers games and talk about why the 49ers should never draft another spread QB? Don't think so.
  21. There are a lot of reasons why this franchise is a joke right now, but at the top of my list is the influence the former players seem to have. Why are Jim Kelly and Thurman Thomas introducing Buddy Nix at his introduction press conference? Did Terry Bradshaw and Lynn Swann come out and introduce Tomlin when he was hired in Pittsburgh? No. Why is Kelly ALWAYS on the sidelines everytime the Bills play on Monday Night Football? Go sit in the owners box. I love what they did for the Bills when they played, but since they have retired, I see a bunch of ego maniacs who don't know how to handle not being in the spotlight anymore. I don't like Trent Edwards, but sticking up for himself vs Jim Kelly is one thing I will support him on.
  22. Sure, if you want a backup who can't complete passes on a consistent basis, then he is everything you are looking for.
