  1. Buffalo scouts said today Dalton reminds them of Ryan Fitzpatrick. To me, that says they wont draft him. Wouldnt you want a QB who was better than Fitzpatrick? If you're going to draft a future Ryan Fitzpatrick, you might as well stick with the current one.
  2. Wherever you were, I bet you had a similar response. HAHA Im not going to be a poser and pretend I wanted Clay Matthews. I honestly thought he was the 3rd best LB of the 3 USC guys. I REALLY just wanted Orakpo. But please watch this video, I promise it will make you laugh.
  3. The key to what you said is we are 8 days away. If what NGU says is true, and national sports writers are waiting for him to post so they can change their prediction, I'd rather him keep the Bills draft plans tight lipped. What good does it do for him to tell us Buffalo wants player x, if team x finds out about it and trades up ahead of us to get him?
  4. I don't understand the mentality of some, as if picking a QB at 3 is the only option that comes with risk. Just as many defensive players flop as QB's. Kansas City wasted top 5 picks in the past few rounds on Glen Dorsey and Tyson Jackson, both of which were considered "safe" in the eyes of draft experts. Just look at the Bills roster and you'll see a bunch of first round defensive players who either A) have failed to distinguish themselves (Whitner, McKelvin) or B) Flat out bust. So, if you take Von Miller and he winds up being Aaron Maybin part two, does that not set your franchise back? If you take Patrick Peterson, and he ends up being just another CB with great athletic ability, a Philip Buchanon type ,does that not set your franchise back? Just like any other draft, 5 years from now you'll look at this first round, see 5-6 super stars, 10-12 more pretty good players, and the other 15 or so will either be on different teams or out of the NFL all together. At some point the Bills need to take a shot to get better. Von Miller, for as dominant as he was, was on one of the worst defenses in all of college football.
  5. Random over-sensitive "ESPN hates us, everyone is against us" comment here with a little bit of "Mortenson always dogs us", "Kiper is a loser" and "we get no respect". And no, I didn't take the time to watch the video, I felt like I was better equipped to spout off based on the pure frustration over what I assumed was on there.... sarcasm over. Truthfully, didn't disagree with a word they said, and really wish they would take a QB. But, the fact remains, they made it sound like Newton will be there, when 99% of the draft experts now say he wont be. So, do you then take the 2nd best QB in a weak QB class with the 3rd pick, or take someone who is the best defensive player on your board who lines up opening day and helps you right away? Whatever they do, some will hate it, others will love it, some will say that was the guy they wanted all along.
  6. lol I crack myself up. But seriously, this guy was my hero last year, and now more than ever, especially with no free agency to talk about, I need some rumors. NGU, tell me something man, even if it's a lie
  7. Hard to disagree with that opinion. There is a reason why they're picking 3rd in the draft, and more overwhelmingly, why they have been in or around the top 10 since 2006. I think Von Miller is going to be an absolute beast at the NFL level, but to pull your team out of the gutter, you need a QB in the NFL. Also, do the Bills not trust their own scouts? They signed Shawne Merriman to a contract extension, and Arthor Moats played well in spot duty last season. If you want to turn the franchise around, hit on a QB. Is that Gabbert? I don't know. But I do know you have a 0% shot if you don't take one.
  8. I remember last year there was a poster who came out and said the Bills had no interest in Clausen, they liked CJ Spiller a lot, and they wouldn't take a QB if it wasn't Sam Bradford. I'm trying to find any posts by him, but I can't remember his name. Everything he said turned out to be accurate.
  9. LOL Not exactly the head rolling, "we're not going to take this anymore" roster move many we're hoping for. So, can we officially stop raiding Green Bay's practice squad hoping for starters?
  10. I understand a lot of the points you made, but here is why I wholeheartedly disagree. 1) none of us are priveleged to watching game film. Some people will say they "watched the tape", but they mean they watched the TV coverage again, which isn't the same, so I can only go on what I know. And here is what I know. A) Chris Kelsay is not a high sack guy. He never has been as a DE, and through 3 games as an OLB, he hasn't sniffed the QB, so it's reasonable to assume he isn't going to turn into Lamar Woodley or Clay Matthews off the edge. Ok, that's fine. Those guys don't just grow on trees. B) Kelsay is a liability in coverage. The guy was relatively slow for a DE to begin with, and now as an Strongside OLB in a 3-4 set up, he is going to be forced to cover TE's, RB's out of the backfield and occassionally WR's ( watch the Packers game when he lined up on Driver). Look at our division. Dustin Keller, Aaron Hernandez and Fasano. That's a mismatch waiting to happen. So, now we have an OLB in the 3-4 who can't rush the passer and can't be relied upon in coverage. So.....I'm not really understanding his value here. Kelsay is a solid guy, and a reliable player who rarely misses a start, but I thought the transition to the 3-4 was the writting on the wall for the end of his days in Buffalo. For his contributions, I figured they would let him play out his current (overpaid) contract, and then wash their hands. Now, he is here for the next 4 seasons. So, let's look at some more "facts" In the NFL, you don't pay someone 24 million dollars to ride the bench. So, for the next 4 years, Chris Kelsay, who is only going to get slower and older, is going to be one of our starting OLBs for that time. Look at the elite 3-4 teams, and tell me if they have a Chris Kelsay type as their OLB. Be honest with yourself. The answer is no. There's just not a lot to like about this deal at all.
  11. I know a lot of fans liked him, but he is now an Eagle.
  12. If you're into teasers, this is a perfect 13 point teaser candidate. Take the Packers at even, and then move 3 other game lines 13 points. Right now Im leaning toward.... Green Bay (even) Atlanta (+6) vs Cardinals Bengals (+15) vs Ravens Redskins (+15) vs Texans all 4 at home. I was tempted to move the Dallas line to Dallas (+4) vs Chicago, but there is something about that game that doesn't sit well with me. I don't know if it's Alex Barron trying to block Julius Peppers, if it's the fact that Jay Cutler is so boom or bust, and if you bet against him he could go boom, or the fact that Dallas always plays down to the competition?
  13. The trade itself makes sense for both sides. It's the classic garbage for garbage trade, similar to the Rams trading Alex Barron to Dallas for Bobby Carpenter. While I dont beliebe the brother in law as a source, the concept of this trade makes sense. That said, I agree with other posters who have stated our strength is at ILB and we need OLB's. But, Hawk and Poz in the middle would be a nice combination going forward, allowing Andra Davis next season to move to a more fitting rotational role.
  14. Do some of you even watch football outside of the Bills? The Chargers HAVE Darren Sproles and drafted Ryan Matthews in the 1st round this past draft. They aren't going to trade for Lynch.
  15. I love your optimism, and honestly, I wish I had it. I really do. But I firmly believe that as long as we have Edwards at Qb, we won't win any big games against big teams. And the worst part is, I still think Edwards is the best QB we have. This is the kind of season hopefully 6 years from now we look back on and say was a turning point in our franchise history. "Bills went 2-14, and then drafted ........, who came in and give the Bills their first franchise QB since Jim Kelly retired"
  16. I think realistically, for me to pick the Bills to win this game, the following would need to happen. 1) In practice on Wednesday, Aaron Rodgers drops back to pass, and Clay Matthews, who accidentally drank out of his old USC teammate's Brian Cushing's water bottle, loses his temper and just drills Rodgers, cracking a rib and knocking him out of the game. 2) In defense of his QB, Greg Jennings runs over and tackles Clay Matthews. Mike McCarthy, not wanting to see this team have any drama, suspends Jennings and Matthews one game apiece for their altercation. 3) After practice in the locker room, the media asks Donald Driver about the suspension, and Driver says that Jennings was just defending his QB. Charles Woodson overhears, and then he comes over and sucker punches Driver right in the mouth, defending his defensive teammate. Driver is now out of the game with a broken jaw, and Woodson joins Clay Matthews and Jennings on the suspension list. 4) Ok, on Thursday, the packers are now going through practice without the handful of players mentioned above, and Matt Flynn connects on a touchdown pass to Jordy Nelson. Nelson starts to dance, because he is excited about his opportunity to start. Taking offense to this celebration, B.J. Raji comes over and ties Jordy Nelson to the goalpost. He then walks out to the 30 yard line, and gets a head of steam. He then runs full force into Nelson with a King Kong Bundy avalanche. (in case you don't know what that is, follow this link http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=J8DWe54nMVo) Nelson is now out of the game with a broken collar bone, and Raji is suspended for 4 games. Ok, now Saturday comes, and Green Bay is going through the walk through. Matt Flynn slowly goes through the motions of playaction, and then gently lobs the ball in the direction of Jermichael Finley. Out of nowhere, Nick Collins comes up and just lays Finley out, picks the ball up and starts running the other way. On his way to the endzone, he accidentally runs into the back of Cullen Jenkins, and they both twist their knees really bad. Finley is now out with a concussion, and Collins and Jenkins are both out with bad knees. So, to summarize, I would need injuries to Aaron Rodgers, Jermichael Finley, Cullen Jenkins, Nick Collins, Jordy Nelson and Donald Driver and suspensions to Greg Jennings, CLay Matthews, B.J. Raji and Charles Woodson That would then make the game look like this... That's just my opinion. Now what would it take for you? And please, dont respond with anything unrealistic like we trade for Mike Vick. We all know that's not happening.
  17. I haven't been able to watch any preseason games this year, so I am strictly going by what I saw from last year and TC reports...but.. Keeping 2 TE's is kind of a surprise. I guess maybe we'll just put a 6th OL in for short yardage situations until Nelson gets back. This is collectively, the worst offensive line group I have seen in a long time. Outside of Wood, Levitre and Hangartner, you could make the case that we have a bunch of UFL prospects , and unfortunately, two of them have to start. Im a little surprised Kelsay made the roster given his salary and the lack of a salary cap. We could have cut him with little to no penalty, and he isnt a fit in the 3-4. Ellison is going to play where exactly in this 3-4? I loved our DB's before the season started, now for some reason, when I see it written down, it looks like an average group to me.
  18. OK, little bit of a surprise there. All he did was produce.
  19. Would it look..... SOMETHING LIKE THIS?
  20. Spiller is ridiculous. In my online franchise, I had 150 yards rushing, a kick return for a TD and a missed FG return for a TD with Spiller in the same game vs the Jets. The QB's are a real liability though. Any pass over 10 yards is a real gamble. Marcus Easley is a nice weapon in the game. Defensively, the Bills have better personell for a 4-3 D. If you still have Schobel on your roster, which I do, because we started our franchise before the updates came out....Put Schobel and Maybin at DE ( Maybin goes up 15 points overall at DE), and put Stroud and Edwards at DT. My LB's are Poz, Mitchell and Scott ( I like speed at LB, and Scott is a reliable enough tackler to get the job done. Plus, if you drop him into coverage, he can make some plays. Then the secondary is obviously fine.
  21. OK, now TG is saying he has "Agreed to Terms" but will officially sign that deal later today. Either way, Bout time rookie
  22. Incentives up to 37 million, 20.5 in guaranteed money. Linky: http://twitter.com/TimGrahamESPN
  23. FYI ( From Ian Cummings of EA Sports on Twitter) @Steve_OS Bills "shout" thing wasn't possible because we needed 2 sets of rights and couldn't get both...original author of shout + parody
  24. Any Bills fan who pays a little bit of attention could predict Edwards will be the starter coming into training camp. He has to be the favorite based on his combination of youth/experience/success. Pat Moran does this ALL THE TIME, reports things the rest of the Bills fans think, and reports them as fact. When he gets busted, he never speaks about it again....( last off season when he reported Lavernius Coles reached agreement with the Bills.....lol) It's a joke, and he is just another loser with a computer and an opinion who has no formal training in journalism or reporting, and it's obvious to anyone with any communications background.
