  1. Jamon Bushrod ( who?) Willie Colon ( solid) David Deihl ( converted guard, decent tackle) Charles Johnson Max Starks Matt Light Matt Light Nobody on this list is an elite left tackle. They're all solid contributors. The last ELITE left tackle to win the Super Bowl is Jonathan Ogden in 2000, with Orlando Pace winning in 1999. Why again are we so concerned about Blue chipping that position?
  2. I count 2. Evans and Byrd. McKelvin is still unproven. Jackson is a steady RB, but nothing special. Doesn't this team just BADLY need playmakers? I don't know how I feel about the potential of Spiller at 9, but I do know about nobody on the Bills offense being capable of turning a simple play into a home run. Even Lee Evans, all of his HOME RUN plays are designed deep routes. We need that guy on our offense who at any moment can go the distance.
  3. http://www.nationalfootballpost.com/Diner-...ts-at-No-4.html 6. Someone high ranking in the NFL told me Buffalo will have a quarterback before the first round is over tomorrow. Not sure who it will be but, the Bills will have one.
  4. I never thought about that. Maybe I have been so mad at the pick, that I'm channeling my anger in the wrong direction. Perhaps if they had shown Orakpo or Oher on the phone, I would have had a different opinion.
  5. Seriously, we have been waiting 4 months for the draft, and now we're 30 seconds away from hearing Roger Goodell say the name, and .....BOOM....they show Aaron Maybin crying on his cell phone. Kind of anti-climatic.
  6. "We wanted us a guy who get er done in high school, got er done in college. We told you from da get go, we weren't lookin fer one year wonders. This guy won two national championships. won a heisman trophy and might be the best college football player in the history of the sport. If that resume doesn't get you excited, I don't know what will. It got us excited. Which is obvious, since we traded every pick we have, and our first round picks in 2011 and 2012 to move up to the first spot to take em."
  7. Even though I wouldn't be a fan of this draft...... I say we take Dan Williams at 9, and then trade back into the first round for Tebow.
  8. Schefter "predicts" Bills will take a non-Qb at 9 and trade back into the first round and take Tebow. He also "predicts" Clausen will fall to to 20 to the Vikings. So, my math tells me, if both of his predictions come true, unless we're trading up with Indy or New Orleans, we're not only trading up into the first round, but then we're going to take Tebow with Clausen still on the board. I hope he's wrong in his "prediction"
  9. Yeah, McGee, McKelvin, Florence, Corner and Lankster seem like a solid 5, but I expect Lankster to push hard for the nickel job this year.
  10. Definitely need some people from this draft to step up this year. McKelvin and Hardy coming back from injuries will potentially hold important roles, Ellis and Corner will have to battle to make the roster. Fine and Bowen are gone already. Kind of a make or break year for this draft class. Good video though, but it's funny how optimistic everybody sounded on draft day. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JLn28s4seas
  11. Not even close. Carriker was probably going to struggle to make the final roster this year, and with no "Cap" ramifications, they could dump him, get a VERY little value, and wash their hands of a draft day blunder.
  12. I don't think this means they are picking a LT at 9 for sure, but it clearly debunks what Nix said last week about having a lot of faith in Demetrius Bell.
  13. That was the draft luncheon where Nix said "For example, if there are only 2 left tackles we like, and they're both gone, we're not going to take a left tackle just because it's a need." People are reading into his hypothetical a little too much.
  14. Well, you tell me. Feel free to click on the link in the post and tell me if it was taken out of context.
  15. Look, this isn't earth shattering news on the surface, but it does kind of debunk the garbage Nix spewed last week about how they probably have more faith in D-Bell than the media does. If they're telling rookies that they need a guy to come in and start, then they are obviously taking a tackle early. At the very least, tell the rookie you need a tackle to come in and compete for a job. Again, not earth shattering news, but it also might point to Best Available tackle at 9. http://www.nationalfootballpost.com/USC-of...s-Brown-QA.html What did the Bills tell you? Brown: "They said they needed a left tackle to come in who can start."
  16. Already posted it, Eric Berry
  17. I'll be checking in throughout the day frequently, so I can do more than 1 team if you need. Just fill me in as you need me.
  18. The Browns are elated to select Eric Berry
  19. That between the schedule release and the NFL draft, the NFL is occupying 17+ hours of prime ESPN programming time this week...... when all that will be happening is dudes in suits and ties will be talking? Don't get me wrong, I'll watch. Probably every F**n minute of it.
  20. A lot of teams are passing on their picks. If the draft plays out like this, Cleveland will be THRILLED!
  21. Still taking signups? I'll take Cleveland
  22. If you need a fill in for any team, I'm more than happy to help out
  23. I agre with you about the importance of building through the lines, I just don't see the can't miss tackle prospect in this year's draft. I understand the QB's are all flawed, but if I'm taking a OT in the top 10, I want a guy like Joe Thomas who is a nearly finished product, with pro bowl upside at the left side. I don't see that with any of the tackles in this draft. I think the Bills would be better served to take a tackle in round 2 or 3 and develop him.
  24. I was thinking about this the other night. Obviously, my concern, as a fan, isn't about selling tickets. My concern is, intrigue for the season. In the NFL, you always need SOMETHING to pull you in. Whether it's your team is good enough to compete ( which 80% of the teams are, unfortunately, I don't think the Bills are right now) or something is building for the future. This team right now just lacks any pull. Can you really get excited about watching 16 more games of Trent Edwards and Ryan Fitzpatrick? If you draft Clausen, or ( for the Tebow lovers) Tebow, you at least NOW have the guy on your roster whom you can start to build around. You know where your team is going. There is a reason why Lions fans are optimistic heading into this season. It's because they have a young QB they feel good about. I think Buffalo just needs to inject life into it's franchise and take a top Qb. And I hate to say it because it goes against everything I ever thought I believed in, but Tony Pike in round 2 after drafting a tackle won't cut it. The Bills need a name. A Clausen, a Tebow or even a McCoy. They need a guy fans can get excited about.
  25. Chris Johnson was considered a reach at the end of the first round. Just sayin
