  1. At first I thought it was me getting old because of the lack of Miami #1 in this thread. Then I thought about my kids who grew up here in South Florida during the glory years and still hate Miami the most. Maybe it's our unique circumstances but for me 0 for the 70's and for the kids constantly arguing with their friends over the rivalry is probably why the Dolphins are #1. Dallas was #2 for a number years, even before the SB's, becasuse of that arrogant bastich Jerry Jones. But Dallas has been supplanted in recent years by the Pats*. Even today watching that game they're still "just giving it to them". So for me it's: Miami NE Dallas p.s. Jets could move up because of their fans and Buddy's son. If turns out to be a jerk like his father they'll move up.
  2. What about putting Yobouty on him? He's big, decent in run support and did well against Winslow last week.
  3. I'll be wearing shorts, then again I'm in South Florida.
  4. After Sean Taylor that was the second thing I thought of. I hope that we, the U.S., don't elevate to that level of violence in our disappointment. The guy made an own goal and was murdered for it when he got back to Medellin. p.s. D.C. Tom what's wrong with my spelling of disappointment, it doesn't look right?
  5. Although Sean Taylors was not targeted for a mistake on the field, I thought the same thing as soon as I read it. My God people it's a game!!!
  6. No the Eagles are trying to. :
  7. Hit the nail on the head!!! One game at a time and go forward from there. Beat NE and go on. Lose to NE and go on. That's what we have been doing for decades now! Go Bills!!
  8. Comeon Darin where's your spunk!! We embark on a new season with young Bruces, young Thurmans, young (well old) Andres. Let's go Buffalo!!!!! After all these years what else can we say????!!!!!!
  9. Excellent point, thanks for clarifying the whole argument in two sentences while the JJ suporters take paragraphs and still fail.
  10. Sorry but have to disagree completely with this one. Wade was, and is head and shoulders above DJ both as a defensive mind and a head coach. I was disapointed when Ralph fired him and we haven't had a competent HC since he left. btw I like your signature.
  11. What he said! How ya doing Petrino? Any odes for the coming year?
  12. 20 years ago I took my sons to the games and the Dolfans were civil, now that they're in their 20's the Dolfans only want to fight. I don't go anymore and I try to discourage the kids, it's just not worth it anymore, although they say the tailgate is still Bills South!!!
  13. Thanks Bob mucho apreciado!
  14. Why thank you Jack, I did not know that but now I I know what I'm watching By the way, any chance that the Bills will be Nationally televized on Saturday?
  15. Especially after their history with the Titans, trick plays on special teams, and staying in your lanes.
  16. Same here Lori, I think he's a hell of Coach and I think the play was for more than just fun in a preseason game. The league will have to be much more careful during the season when playing Mr. Fisher because the trick could come from anywhere on any play. He's agressive, smart, and willing to take calculated riskes, that's a Coach! I don't mind Dick J. but I wish he would lighten up a bit and take a more imaginative approach to the game, which is what I see in a Coach like Fisher. Dick's got the basics down but has shown a lack of the gambler instinct in him that can win those extra couple of games.
  17. Good points and on top of them Ralph financially helped the struggling AFL stay afloat in the early years, including loaning Al Davis money to keep the Raiders from going under. Has he made made mistakes in personnel? Yes but so have all the owners. Has he not spent like a drunken sailor, (see D. Snyder and J. Jones), no he has not. However, that doesn't mean he's cheap, it simply means he has done what he had to do to keep the club in Buffalo even though he could have made a sweet deal for himself by moving the team out of town numerous times. i.e. the Colts, Browns, Oilers, Cardinals, Raiders, and Rams. These ingrates that are denigrating him in this thread have no sense of the Bills and the AFL/AFC history. They've probably heard of the "0 for the 70's" vs. the fish. They've read about the fans sitting in Rich stadium, in the sleet and rain and snow week after week hoping for a win and ending the season with 2 wins. During those seasons, often their were more fans of the other team in the stands than Buffalo fans, but Ralph didn't move the club out, he worked to put a better product on the field and he finally did in the late 80's early 90's. That's when I would bet that most of these "nattering nabobs" became fans and since they were spoiled in their infant fandom, they lash out now at the only constant in the Bills during and since that time. On such a happy and triumphant day for Ralph, the Bills, and us the fans it's sad that we have to read these posts. On the bright side there are more true fans that appreciate the team and what Ralph has done by keeping it in Buffalo, against his own self interest, than there are who attack him on a day that he wins accolades that he richly deserves and that all of us Bills fans share in with him.
  18. That's exactly the point!!! Ten years of sitting in the stands, freezing your arse off, and losing then listening to games that weren't televized on the radio and losing. Eeven when they weren't good and we were so-so, we lost. I'm beginning to hate the Pats, mostly because of the cheating and the "just give it to them attitude of the officials, but they don"t take the top position from the fish and they never will. If we beat the Pats at home this year, does anybody really think that there will be such a catharsis that fans will run out on the field and tear down the goal post? Last, my kids (who grew up in South Florida and have good friends who's fathers are former Dolphins), said they want to go to Bills game in the Ralph next year for the first time. The game want to go to, MIAMI!! We're talking about a 20 and 23 year old who spent their whole life in S. Florida. Maybe I'm just one of those parents who who brought their kids up right.
  19. I'm with you dib, 0 for the 70's instilled in me a hatred for the fish that, although the Patriots are coming on, will probably never be surpassed. Add to that the late 80's and early 90's with Kelly vs. Marino, even the kids hate the fish more than any other team. By the way the kids , one is now finished and the other coming down from UCF for the weekend are going to the game. Last year they wanted me to go and I told them that it would just be fights, etc. in the stands. They went, were challenged by some drunk Dolphin fans, nothing came from it, (thankfully), and now they want to go again. When they were little I would take them to the Dolphin game, we would always win, and the jabs I would get were good natured, i.e "child abuse". Now they want to fight and I don't want the kids to be trying to defend the old man because he's a bit a of a hothead when it comes to defending the Bills, ( 0 for the 70's and all that rot!!) . One thing the kids told me last year was that, at least in their section there were twice as many Bills fans as Dolphin fans. If all the guys come across from the west coast, Naples, etc., as usual ther will be a good balance and the kids will hopefully able to watch the game and cheer in peace.
  20. Great game and it did give us a sense that the Bills could win no matter what. However, the comeback game was the clincher. That was the game that turned my, then 5 year old, oldest son into a fan for life. Of course his younger brother caught the fever as soon as he was old enough to understand and his brother coached him to never give up on the Bills. The boys are now in their early twenties but my oldest who is in town and I are getting ready to make the weekly pilgrimage to the local sports bar, and the youngest who is in Orlando will be watching at a frat house or a local bar. We will call each other back and forth during the game exchanging congrats or bitching about a bad call by the refs, etc. At the end of the day, win or lose, we'll be looking forward to next week with optomism. GO BILLS!!!!!!!!
  21. When it happened I said to the kids and the other guys watching the game that the penalty was worth it because it would fire the guys up. They all said that it caused off setting penalties, etc. but I told them that the decision by Witner was going to win the game. Me, Mr. Negative as they call me, was actually saying that because of a penalty by us on a touchdown run by them was going to turn us around was perposterous. As for Jauron"s comments, he has to say that but I'm betting that he is thanking Donte all the way,....... on the inside.
  22. Yesterday we watched the game online and thoroughly enjoyed. Now greedy me wants to watch it again but can't find any archived games on channel surfer. Does anybody know where I can watch it again online tonight? Thanks, bd
