This is everything wrong with our offense
BadDad replied to kenny3000's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Agreed but also if we had a QB that had the b..lls to throw the damned ball to them. Nothing against Trent personally, but his checkdowns did not win any games. On the contrary five interceptions vs. one touchdown tells me everything I need to know. -
Clements fails to meet lockdown hype
BadDad replied to Kingfish's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Agreed, that was not a correct statement. Winfield can tackle, can cover, is exceptional in every facet of the game. His problem is that he has hands of stone. He couldn't catch to save his life. However, that being said, I wish like hell we still had him on the Bills because his coverage skills and run support were excellent. -
The reason why he's not in jail is because he was for years a favorite son down here in Miami. He hit the guy, left, went home then came to the scene an hour or so later and admitted to hitting the guy. Years before that he was asked to go downtown because of his affiliation with a Cuban drug dealer who built a Massion in Hialeah that was so astentatious that it would make Scarface blush. Again everything got brushed under the rug. I could go on and on, but I guess the end for him down here fianlly culminated with the Elian Gonzalez fiasco. You would turn on the nightly news and there would be Sanchez, not being a newscaster but sounding more like a spokesman for the Cuban National Association. He lost what credibility he still had with the Latin community because of that. So am I surprised that he made up stuff about Rush? Not surprised that he made up stuff to sensationalize his reporting, (he's been doing that for years), but yeah I'm a little surprised that he made up stuff about Rush, unless Rush has been supporting lifting the sanctions against Cuba lately, Has he?

Upon further review... run defense
BadDad replied to ColdBlueNorth's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I kind of agree with you on both statements. Yes Wade had some All Pro and HOF studs on that DL, but I also think that the 3-4 was suited for those DL's. In other words you can't take away from Wade the fact that he used a scheme that played to the strength of his talent, no square peg in a round hole. DJ is a good DC, but I think Wade is a much better DC, niether is necessarily a good HC. As for present day, they decided upon a scheme, the cover two using a 4-3. This is a good scheme and does have it's merits but you need the players. Unfortunately we have not been able to come up with the talent in the front seven, especially the LB's and injuries have been killing us as well. As a result we are trying to force square pegs in round holes and it shows. As for our pass defense being exceptional, it damned well better be after all emphasis that has been put on it in the recent drafts. -
You took the words right out of my mouth, Fouts said the ref's were seeing things. Actually it was nice to listen to Fouts and Enberg, a couple of guys who know football. They both could not believe that there was no call on the RTP that knocked Trent out.

Especially when our LB's are out of position or being taken on by OL blockers. Once the runners got past the DL there was no stopping them. -
Anyone hear if the Bills plan to send film on
BadDad replied to Steve O's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
To be honest I'm beginning to think that they are filling the stadiums to see their team beat his skirt wearing a... Outside of N.E. itself I think folks are pretty fed up with Brady and the favorable treatment he gets. This is not to minimize his talent, I'll admit he's one of the best, but that should not give him the right to a benefit that other QB's, good, bad or ugly don't get. Did you that RTP they gave Suggs a week ago against Brady? He barely touched him, but Brady turns to the ref and instructs him to throw the flag and the lemming does as he's told. Meanwhile Trent gets mugged by two defenders while he's on his knees and it's business as usual. Protect them all or protect none of them. -

1. They bent him over a player and pounded his head into the ground. 2. If you're going to give Brady a RTP every time somebody sneezes then you have to at least throw a flag for that play. -
I thought it was odd also that he got a concussion, but when I watched the replay those two defenders drove his head into the ground and landed on top of it as well. They should get fines and or suspensions for that hit. His knees were on the ground when they decided to turn him into a pretzel, and then pound his head into the ground.

Same here Bill, thanks. I don't always agree with you but you're civil, this week I do.

The difference as I saw it was that after Fitz completed the third step of his three step drop, he threw the ball to where a receiver was supposed to be, (as best he could, not the most accurate passer I've ever seen). Also I noticed he is very quick on the role out which bought him Favre type time to throw the ball.

Ironically, the thing which helped Fitz most...

Bingo!! The second catch in the N.E. game, yesterday watching Breese consistently throw the ball behind, the wrong side, way to high, etc. but the receivers went after it and got it. That's what they are paid for and to waste two (?) excellent receivers because they aren't open before the "D" gets to you, was proven to be the wrong strategy yesterday. -

Funny I watched the N.O. game earlier and saw Colston and Moore turn around multiple times in the air to make a catch behind them, off the wrong shoulder, etc. the thing that I saw yesterday was Fitzpatrck putting the ball in the pattern and let a nine million dollar a year man go earn his bread, and guess what it worked. Now if T.O. could only hold on to the ball we'd have that great receiving corp that everybody talks about. -
When did Tony Soprano leave? They showed him in the first half sitting outside with his kid. Other celeb's were in the booths. btw for you downstate guys and gals who do the Jersey fans root for, the Giants, the Jets, or the Eagles? Just a question because I know that a lot of old time Western New Yorkers still root for the Browns or the Steelers.
-
Bingo!!!! I kept saying the same thing throughout the game and, although I'll grant you he wasn't the most accurate passer I've seen, he threw the ball where it was supposed to be and let the receiver go get it. Unfortunaley T.O. couldn't seem to hold on but Evans did and scored on that laser crossing pattern. Maybe he needs some practice and playing time or maybe he just isn't that accurate but he knows what to do. It seems evident that Trent does not. With Trent in there I am constantly saying throw it!!!! With Fitz in there I slowly began to say throw it where he can get it because he was throwing it. Either way it will be intersting to see what happens this week and if he plays better the controversy begins. If he plays better for the rest of the year then we can focus on other needs in the draft, otherwise we need to address this position in the draft and not with another 3rd round pick.

If Rush was buying our Bills instead of the Rams...

Unlike his "Rushness" I don't aspire to be an owner. I am only a humble 40 year fan of an NFL team. That fat butthead will never bcome an owner either!!! -

Do you blame Edwards for being shell-shocked?
BadDad replied to LGB's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
You know that you Trent supporters are starting to sound a lot like JP supporters lately. Please keep in mind that JP could hit a wide receiver more than -2 yds. behind the line of scrimage. -

Worse, if he does try, he can't hit the broad side of a barn. I don't know if it's the water or the coaching or what but this guy has turned into JP, without an arm. -
ESPN Insider: TO a fit in Chicago?
BadDad replied to BfloBillsFan's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Perfectly explained, the key statement that you made was "if Edwards throws a decent pass." -
On a related note, I'm tired of hearing that we have to take advantage of what they, the defense, give us. How about the offense dictating to the defense, maybe take "the offensive". Years ago I would end my rants with just run the damned ball. I'm changing it now to throw the damned ball down field for Evans and Owens and let them go get it. Especially against Miami which is suspect in the secondary but pretty stout up front. The most frustrating thing to me is seeing Edwards roll out, and then check down to a guy who is a couple of yards in front of him and that guy gets tackled for a loss. If it's not there, throw it away and move on.
