  1. There used to be a Bills Backers Club in Naples but I don't know if they are still together. If you come across Alligator Alley the first exit on the East side is Weston where I live. We have a couple of guys that have been getting together for more than ten years at the Flanigans on Weston Road. It's a little over an hour drive across the Everglades but you're welcome to join us any week that the Bills aren't playing the Dolphins or on in primetime, (those are the only games we get to watch at home so we don't go to Flanigans those weeks). Cheers.
  2. Equating Eric to the Blues Brearkers or Cream alone is so sad, in that you have forgotten one of the greatest concerts of alltime.... the first super group.....
  3. Mean Mom is here, I'll respond tomorrow thanks.
  4. Thanks much, I'll check them out and respond.
  5. Is that you HB?????
  6. So how do we balance it? Do we cut defense and let the huns run in? Do we cut soc. sec. and put millions of elderly back in poverty? Or do we abolish Medicare and cast our parents to the winds of economic fancy? I, as you know, am a committed "liberal, lefty, progressive, etc." but I am truly concerned for my childrens future and their childrens future (all of whom will be Bills fans or be disowned) and I'm scared. I cannot see a way out of this debacle without a significant influx of capital to stimulate business, prop up lending institutions, give tax breaks to small businesses, tax breaks to individuals (regardless of income levels), and prop-up our infrastructure. Who has the capacity to infuse the capital necessary to accomplish this? Will big business and industry really do it on their own? Or do we expect the small businessman to carry the weight of our recovery of an instutional breakdown on their shoulders by themselves? To paraphrase Martin Luther King how can you expect a small businessman to pull himself up by his boot straps if he doesn't have any boots?
  7. If the U.S. Congress could, (would), ever vote to end the earmarks, it would only amount to 2 % of the deficit. Where do we get the other 98% to balance the budget? As I understand it the major expenses are Social Security, Medicaire, and Defense. Where do we cut otherwise, or which of these do we cut, (and by how much), in order to balance the budget? I'm not baiting you, I just want to know where realistically, we can cut the budget enough to balance it.
  8. Just my two cents, but I know John Gamble, his lovely wife Sharron, and their three wonderful boys. Our kids grew up together here in Weston Florida and we've had many great times together with other friends, not the least of which is Jeff Dellenbach. John and Jeff started a conditioning course at the YMCA here in Weston that drew folks and athletes from all around the area and, although I'm no expert in conditioning, the level of athletes that religiously came out for the program was always impressive. From a character and human standpoint I can definately say that we couldn't have a better man as a member of our staff and a coach for our players. So everybody knows, John started with Shula and survived all the coaching changes that have transpired since (inclidung Jimma and Parcells), so he has to have something going for him as a coach. Everytime another Bill would fall in the past few years and everybody would complain about our strength and conditioning coaches I would wish we could get John. I just told the kids and they are excited as hell. Not because they know John personally but they know what he can do as each has been to his conditioning program. This is a good pick up from so many different angles and it's not another has been, washedup looking for a pay check, only guy left, type of coach; this guy is quality!!! Go Bills!!!!!!
  9. The guy is a joke. He's Buddy times two, which to me is not funny or entertaining. Yes he flipped off the Fins fans who are bad, but if he flipped off some Bills fans this whole would be outraged. He's nothing but Buddy's big fata...ed tub of lard and I don't think he lasts more than another year or so as a HC in the league. Also, his brother will have no chance at a HC job after Buddy and the freakin whale in Jets green!!! He'll end up as a fromidable DC again and that will be the end of him. His behavior is not condusive to management in this league. He's a Hc not TO or ocho 5, or insert the name of a self agrandizing player. I hope the commissioner slams his butt hard and shuts his stupid and foul mouth.
  10. Depends, are you talking about Bills fans or NFL fans in general? Bills fans, Fins, Pats (because of our history with them, just give it to them, Tom Terrific, etc.), Cowboys, (Americas Team...? they labelled themselves that in a marketing coup and the media played along), Jets, (lately), because of Ryan I didn't think I would ever see a bigger a..hole than Buddy, but Rex has done it. Leaguewise though, maybe the Raiders, maybe the Cowboys, maybe the Redskins and all because of their owners. Most think they have tainted the league and turned it into either a joke, (Raiders), or fricken "rastling" in the case of Jerry and Danny. Jerry has a bit of a bye, nationally, because Wades a good guy, if Jimma was still there nobody could beat the cowgirls.
  11. Oh I don't know....? Maybe saving the AFL, which became the AFC....!!!!! For example neither the Raiders or the Patriots would be here today if not for Ralph. Ohhhhhh....Sh.......!!!!!! Don't take that the wrong way?!?!
  12. Good list, and it was once us, 9-11-01 and the world responded. This is not a political rant, but one of the first counrties to respond to 911 was Iran and one of the first to respond this week has been Iran. It is good to see the nations of the world responding in unison to the suffering of another nation. I don't know how much of what I've seen on t.v. is true, the situation is very fluid, but it gives me hope when I heard that the two fastest nations to respond were the U.S. and Venezuela. It gives me hope to hear that last night four humoungus trucks roled into Puerto au Price with Norwegian search and rescue teams. All of this before Mr. Obama and our Govt. offered 100 million in aid. All of this before the UN had a chance to respond. My faith in humanity has been restored, regardless of politics, religion, etc. when one of us is in distress, we all come together and work together in an effort to ease the suffering of those in the danger zone.
  13. I agree that the opportunity to rebuild the country is important, however trying to stave off a "mass exodus..." of immigrants from SFLO, is the worst of our worries. Between the Hatian immigratian in the 80's vs. the "Marielito's" who came at the same time with a carte blanch, "wet foot/dry foot" policy that remains in effect today, I will go with the contribution of the Haitian immigrants vs. what Castro sent to our shores. Nothing against either country or people, however, from personal experience, the Haitian immigrants to this country have been as positive and productive as any other immigrant group in our short history. Let's all support the people of Haiti in whatever way we can during this trying time.
  14. Save the Children all the way!!! Give what you can.
  15. Nothing personal but, in a pigs a...... we will. Nobody in Buffalo wants Marsha or a Cheeter!!!
  16. Good night Darin, I wish you well, hopefully our Bills will do better next year.
  17. I seemed to have missed the joke Darin. I must say that I'm dissapointed in your response, but then again....
  18. I agree but at least when Paul would chime in it was never personal. He and I went at it a number of times but it never rose to the level of rancour that we see today, from both side I might add. When I had a question about policy I would always request Pauls opinion. Whenever I had question about force I would always request Darins expertise. This wasn't because I was a kiss ass. It was because I respected their knowledge and experience. From thier responses, always civilized, I formed my own opinions and then posted them. RIP BiB
  19. Possibly you missed part of my OP, my son was born in Plantation Genral Hospital, in Broward County Florida. He has never been a resident of another State, much less another country. He is down here with us in South Florida until tomorrow when he goes back to "the great white north", Orlando. He is an American Citizen, he is and has been a resident of the State of Florida his whole life, but DHS has made their criteria and unfortunately the DMV has no wiggle room. I'm certain that it has to do with the recent problems, however it's sad that common sense can't rule. In the mean time he is going back to Orlando tomorrow, with a new Bills Hat from Xmas (yes we progresives are not all God hating heathens), and he will renew his license up there. I hope this whole thing is an overcautious reaction and that common sense will rule eventually. Then again, under the circumstances, if I was the President, or the Secretary of HMS, CIA, FBI, etc. I would be covering my butt right now as well. We bid adui to the DMV folks and wished them a happy New Year, and they went on to deal with the next guy in line who had something that was missing in the new directive.
  20. According to DMV it is effective Jan 01, 2010. If we had renewed him in December, no problem but now it is a hassle. I don't think that it has anything to do with the recent breaches of security, it was already in the works. What doesn't make sense is that an original birth certificate, a U.S. passport, a selective service card issued by the DHS, a military i.d. card are not enough. But if you have a social security card, you're in. I asked the people at the DMV if this was Florida State law or Federal, and they said it was Homeland security. Obviously this was the reason for my original rant. It wasn't partisan, it wasn't critical of one party or philosophy or another. It was nothing more than a rant against the same bouracracy that GG, etc. rail against constantly. The sad part is that the right and the "conservatives" can't see that the progressives amoung you also have problems with the Government. I have been posting on this forum for years, very carefully, because of the decidedly right wing bent of the forum. Lately I have posted after a couple of Genessee Cream Ales (including my response to GG the another night), for which I apologize. Years ago when this forum was created, people could express their opinions and others would argue in support or against, but by and large it was civilized, after all we were all Bills fans, and for the most part Americans. I remember the great debate on here over the Bush Administrations determined policy of attacking Iraq. Yes we were partisan, yet everybody on both sides were civil to eachother. Not only here but in the country at large we have lost that civility, even the U.S, Congress has lost it, and I for one am not only saddened by it but ashamed of it.
  21. Why did you change the subject? All I was pointing out was that, in my opinion, the DHS and our national security is not very effective. The supervisor at the DMV said that they had to turn a guy away with an active military i.d. However, if anybody shows up with a check stub or a W2 form they can renew. My only point was that it has become very complicated to renew your drivers license, but for some reason some guy from Nigeria can basically waltz right in with a bomb in his underwear. I understand your point about health care, but that was not the subject. If that's the way you and others who have posted on this thread care to respond, then so be it. It's kind of funny that no matter what a progressive says on this forum you guys have to twist it, change the subject or get personal. Is there a reason why you, (and I don't mean you singularly GG as we don't have a history of arguing but the whole tone on this forum), can't just respond to the subject matter, or argue against it if you like without being so sarcastic, condisending, or out right rude?
  22. Yes you are sorry, now do you have anything intelligent to add to the discussion, or are you going to throw more partisan horsehochey on the Board?
