Ryan Fitzpatrick screwed the Bills over
BadDad replied to JPicc2114's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Please excuse my choise of words buts that's horse hockey . Until the Bills start paying serious attention, (not one guy every three years in the top three rounds)to the fat guys up front on both sides of the line then nothing else will really matter. Yeah Brohm sucked on Sunday but he had no time and was continously harassed. How many yards did NY rush for again, more than the first game (way over 200 yds)? We can continue to draft DB's, WR's, RB's, and QB's until the cows come home but until we get some real talent on the OL and DL nothing, absolutely nothing will change for this team. I don't mean one guy here and there, I mean the draft should be basically spent on the lines. If we can trade down then it would be ideal because it would enable us to look at a QB or a LB as well, but the emphasis must be on the lines. -
Looking for a good Bills bar in Ft. Lauderdale

I don't know if we have a big enough Back to "just run the damned ball" but between Fred and C.J. I think we have to. By the way, I don't understand how our Harvard educated QB can't get the slide down straight (head first could get you killed!). Then again head first could get you first downs.....BRILLIANT!!! Is that man Irish?!!! We're loving this years Bills and so are the oldtimers. Happy hollidays and Merry Xmas to all!!! -

Let's find some place close to your hotel so you don't have to drive far. I have both of my boys, (born and bread South Floridians so they have the scars), my brother and poor nephew who we are trying to convert, (poor because he's a Dolphan right now, but we put the Bills hat on him weekly and pray). I will try to convince Dave in Broward (DIB), to come as well since we have never met in all these years. Alternatively we could meet in Davie, Daves territoy, and we could watch at the Quarterdeck, what say you Dave? -
Yep it's sad, I went up to Rachacha a couple of weeks ago to get my 84 year old Mom and bring her back down here to South Florida (she has Alsheimers). My Uncle, 88 (25 missions as a B17 tail gunner in WW2), and Aunt 86, the bionic woman (both hips, both knees double up top but still ticking), and my Aunt on Grand Island who is the greatest Bills fans I know were all in attendance and you know what, they're all positive as hell about this team. Everybody loves the young guns, they all love Fitz, and they think that Chan and Buddy are the second coming (hope springs eternal). Mind you they have all seen the Bills since day one, and they have lived through the AFL champinionships of the 60's, the dreadful 70's (which they dragged me through as a young lad freezing my butt off in newly christened "Rich Stadium"), to the 80's that weren't much better but showed hope at times. Then came the late 80's/early 90's and the glory years. My kids and many of you grew up during this time and had not suffered before. Now you're suffering and those of you who can take the simple pleasure of a Bills win over the hated fish can join me and mine in a cheers to the Buffalo Bills for this weeks victory, and hope that they will bring us all a nice present in the next game against the Brady Bunch. So don't denigrate Ralph, if it wasn't for him all these years we wouldn't have a team in New York State, (almost said Western NY but then remembered we're the only team in NY, Thanks for reminding me again Aunt Charlotte on G.I.). Yes he's old but as time goes on we will all, by the grace of God, get to that age ourselves. He has been loyal to us as a region, he has always kept his promise to not leave us when the sirens called from L.A., etc. Give him, and all of those old fans that he represents, a little respect. If it wasn't for them and him we wouldn't even be having this discussion. Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays, BadDad

Couldn't agree more, most of the pressure has been comming right up the gut. Many will blame Haertenger (sp), but I've been blaimimg Wood all year long. Although I hope that this is all based on his injury and blah, blah, blah,.... But he seems to be a bit of an Ass. Levitre, on the other hand, has turned out to be a legitimate NFL player. When Woods muscule equals his mouth, we might have the decent OL envisioned when he was drafted in the first round.

Thanks Simon, for making the point that in the end whether he was trying to go helmet to helmet, he did, and that is illegal. Also thanks for pointing out that the rule was put in place to protect the defender. Whoever taught this kid to lower his head should be the one who's fined.
-
And he still does. The press conference yesterday showed again that he's behind this team. Didn't he even say that not only does the team have Stevies back, but so does he! So did Fitz. Also it was good to see the rookies and second year players contributing. Some may call this a throw away year, but I think Chan and Buddy might be pulling a "rope-a-dope" on this league.

I'm smelling pork hear...

Summed it up perfectly!

just saw the press con. and Chan is the Man. He stood up for all his guys, was articulate, and took responsibility for the game. By the way, Fitz did the same.
-
That's exactly what I saw. He lowered his head and caught Fitz in the chin, which is what he was aiming for all along. This guy is dangerous, not a "hard nosed football player". What's worse is that young kids are watching this BS and thinking that it's the way to play football.

Don't know, I'm comming from Miami, but my wife and I are UB alums, 1978, and we met in 1977. You do know what happened in the winter of 1977 don't you? I'm going to go to the student club in the Elicott complex, sit down, and have a beer.

+100 Fitz ain't no Payton M. but he has guts and he's a leader. I wish he would learn to slide feet first, but I guess he's just following in the footsteps of JK!! Side note, I'm going to Buffalo on Sat. and I'm stopping at the UB bookstore. The shirts, hats, and hoodies we bought 10 years ago are a little under the weather. Do you have any suggestions for new stuff?

I was b... and moaning all through the game (with his drops), however I had to feel for the kid on that drop. In my oopinion he became a Bill in that moment. Hopefully he'll get his head in the game, as he has the physical part down. -

Great idea (a hybrid), that looks like waht they are aiming at. Although I can't stand Kelsay this past few years, he had a decent game yesterday when playing in his natural position.

Why call 3 pass plays with 1:30 left in OT?
BadDad replied to DFITZ1's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
As I recall it Buddy did deck him. -
Although I like the kid I have to agree with your point, I even said the same thing the other day. The question I've been asking for a couple of weeks now is can he throw the ball? Otherwise he will be Tebow2.

Last week at this time I was driving by UB on the way to Grand Island. I got a call from my youngest, (he goes to UCF) asking if we were going to stop off for some goodies at the Book Store. Most of the shirts, hoodies, etc. we got almost ten years ago are falling apart. He went to the UCF vs. UB game last year in Orlando and although he had a UCF tee shirt on, he covered it up with his UB hoody and had his UB hat on. When he was accused of being a traitor he simply said "if it wasn't for UB I wouldn't be here". His Mom and I met at UB during the blizzard of 77 out at Ellicott Campus, Red Jacket Dorm. By the way he and his older brother are born and bred in S. Florida right in the heart of Dolphin territory, they have played on football teams with the kids of current Bills strength and conditioning coach John Gamble, former Dolphins Jeff Dellenbach, and Dan Marino and they still remain Bills fans to this day. Cheers and go Bills go UB!!!!

Someone please explain this to me
BadDad replied to dollars 2 donuts's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Thanks PTR I agree that both Naaman and Starks should get a shot. For this old fart Alumn, UB "78", it warms my heart to see them playing again. During my time at UB the team wasn't active, but them making the second bowl game in UB history that year was gratifying, especially because of the circumstances surrounding the first bowl birth. My kids grew up here in South Florida, but they love Buffalo. My oldest flew to Buffalo at 10 years old, my Uncle and Aunt picked him up at the airport and took him straight to the Rich. What did he say, "the land of my dreams!!!" My youngest goes to UCF in Orlando now and he went to the UB game this past Fall. Guess what he was wearing... a UB sweatshirt that we got at the bookstore out at the Elicott Complex in 2003!!! When people started to ask him where he got the sweatshirt, he told them if it wasn't for UB he and his brother wouldn't be here, because, I met my sweetheart (their Mom), at UB during the Blizzard in 1977. So thanks guys for anything you bring up about UB, we all enjoy it and Go Bulls, Go Bills!!!!
