Holy Crap, Check Out what Neil Rackers can do
MartyBall4Buffalo replied to Stl Bills's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I wouldnt be suprised if he could do something like that, Although it's probably fake but It wouldnt shock me if It's probably edited in the sense that it wasn't 4 in a row, They dont call him Nasty Neil Rackers for nothing. -
JP Losman trade looking better and better
MartyBall4Buffalo replied to donahoeisgod's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Yeah cause we all know how productive JP Losman has been so far. Not that he can't or won't be good, but threads like this are way too premature. -
well that settles it then lets trade mcgahee to sf for vernon davis

I havent really seen much out of either. I think both have had their moments, gates has had about 12 more carries. 21 to atrains 9. both are averaging under 3 yards per carry, but Im inclined to go on the side of youth. So I'll say gates, but Id prefer if both stuck around and we cut rope with shaud williams.

Heard Mort on the radio in ATL this morning
MartyBall4Buffalo replied to buffaloboyinATL's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
considering the offensive scheme seems to be moving the ball vertically down the field. Our previous interest it would seem in kerry collins makes sense. Right now I'd be looking to move Holcomb to the chargers who have 2 rookies behind Phillip Rivers. -
P. King continues to slam Marv

I disgaree. Peerless is a former 1000 yard reciever say what you want but thats one thousand yard season more then deion branch has had. I still believe michael vick will never have a 1000 yard wr, not because the receivers aren't good but because Michael Vick is not a competant passing qb. And Evans has branch smoked. I could compare it to branches first 2 years but it leans even heavier in favor of evans 2004 nwe | 9 | 0 0 0.0 0 | 35 454 13.0 4 2005 nwe | 16 | 0 0 0.0 0 | 78 998 12.8 5 | 2004 buf | 16 | 5 85 17.0 0 | 48 843 17.6 9 | | 2005 buf | 16 | 4 38 9.5 0 | 48 743 15.5 7 | in 4 seasons branch has a grand total of 14 tds. Evans has 16 in 2 seasons. Not that Deion branch isnt a good receiver he's been money in the superbowls, but I definitly wouldnt take him over evans, and if peerless is even that mediocre receiver he was in atlanta he's a push with branch. -
yes honestly I didnt follow brad butler closely or know a great deal about him other then his cheap play on kiwanuka but after reading this on this scouting report on nfl.com it got me excited. Infact they were pretty great to our whole draft class. http://www.nfl.com/draft/drafttracker/team/BUF

Actually no I was hoping for freeney in 2002. Yes Davin Joseph is a good guard. No I wouldnt have wanted the bills to draft him with their 2nd pick in the 1st rd. I was very happy with the McCargo pick. I thought and still think he was the 3rd best dt in that draft after bunkley and claude wrotten So I was happy with that pick. Yes the interior of our offensive line is horrible, but that doesnt mean you should reach for guards in the 1st rd when theres better talent at more important positions to be had. For the record I am not a fan of fat linemen on either side of the football, I also dont think you should so easily dismiss tutan reyes he's been a starter for a pretty good carolina team the past few years and is capable of getting to the 2nd level and blocking in space. Whether or not you or I or anyone else believes the oline is upgraded or not, if nothing else at least they're way more athletic then the previous group. Line play is far from a quick fix anyway you strike it. It takes time for an offensive line to gel. You can't just constantly mix and match parts and hope for success, which is why I believe it's better strategy to draft players in the 1st round who will have a more pronounced and quicker impact for your team. And contrary to popular belief some of it does fall on the qb, making the right reads getting the ball out quickly, moving to avoid the rush and stretching the ball down field will make your offensive line look good. 1st rounders at any position aren't a gurantee especially offensive linemen who probably take more time to develop then any other position on the field.

Bengals may be the best in the AFC....
MartyBall4Buffalo replied to NavyBillsFan's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Im not sold on the bengals defense especially in the secondary or dline. yeah they can force turnovers but I dont think their defense overall is good enough to get them over the hump, nor do I think Marvin Lewis is that great of a coach, more like he lucked into a cant miss prospect in Carson Palmer. They're the colts lite. -
I think it's horrible draft strategy to take a guard over best player available especially in the 1st rd. Tackles I can understand. It's a premier position especially with the emphasis today on pass rushers. Guards I wouldn't understand at all. I dont care how good of a guard you are odds are theres someone at another position who's a more prominent player. Guards can be had in later rounds or free agency. Im also a much bigger believer in dline over oline drafting.
-
I hope we never use a first round pick to draft a guard. That is horrible
-
He didnt dominate the browns in a preseason game. Oh damn cut him now I guess the bengals should cut rudi johnson using your logic

P. King continues to slam Marv
MartyBall4Buffalo replied to mary owen's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I like deion branch I think hes a great wr, but we have far bigger needs then overpaying for a wr, especially at the risk of overpaying for branch causing us to lose lee evans or mcgahee or fletcher or clements in the future. Pass with prejiduce. -
Correlation between early OL picks and winning
MartyBall4Buffalo replied to Orton's Arm's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
not all that suprised, I bet however the correlation between teams taking defensive linemen early and winning is higher. -
he should go back to the amber visor he wore at the U http://images.nfl.com/photos/img6199186.jpg

Willis Mcgahee is the last person on offense Im concerned about, get the ball in his hands and do the best to get him out in space and he'll make plays. However in order to have a succesful running game the offense will have to open it up and stretch the field. 8-9 box like last season and like any rb will be hard pressed to get significant yardage, but allowing him to bounce runs outside and getting him involved in the receiving game and fairchilds emphasis on stretching the field vertically I think willis will be fine, besides much better then not being part of the mularkey package.

if he would've said the bills have a lot of talent on the oline, or the bills have a lot of talent at quaterback, or proven wr's or a great defensive line then I can see taking up issue with it, but the fact is we do have a lot of talent in the secondary, and it is probably our deepest area of depth on the team.

sadly these made up names would be improvements on the jets roster
