  1. and really thats what its all about. Being a community and helping someone out. Of course like the godfather once said "Some day, and that day may never come, I will call upon you to do a service for me. But uh, until that day, accept this as a gift" <edited to fit this thread>
  2. Ive always been a good samaritan and I see no reason to stop now Happy elated Bday Aio
  3. http://www.kcchiefs.com/news/2006/09/26/ra...a_little_noise/ Isn't the whole point of homefield advantage to well have an advantage any chance to the current system would be a travesty. If it's not broke don't fix it. Giving any kind of audio advantage to an away team would be a huge step in the wrong direction for the nfl
  4. lmfao @ Matt Bown= Moby Kelly Holcomb= Taylor Hicks weirded out by the mike schneck= jeffrey dahmer lmao @ josh stamer= lurch Chuck lester= ned flanders bravo for viking fans that thread was gold
  5. I need some help deciding on a trade. I had some bad luck with qb's started out with trent green and roethlisberger as my backup. However with greens injury and kc's loss of their dominant tackles I went to roethlisber who has been abysmal since coming back picked up jon kitna and brad johnson on the waiver wire. Only other choice was losman or mcnair. The thing is I feel Im pretty damn set at rb with tomlinson/westbrook/gore/maroney, but I need help deciding whether or not I should make a trade for a wr or qb.my team is as follows its a 1 qb 2 rb 3 wr 1 te 1 k 1 def format qb- brad johnson rb-tomlinson/westbrook wr- plaxico burress/galloway/chris henry te- antonio gates k- shayne graham def- buffalo bench- toomer/frank gore/maroney/desmond clark/kitna/jennings so should I make a trade for a better qb or legit wr or leave as is. All opinions welcome and thanked for in advance.
  6. what exactaly does it make you wonder? That Michael Vick cant win in this league if you force him to beat you by sitting in the pocket and having to pass? That the option offense doesn't work if the nfl if you contain lanes and stay at home instead of over comitting basically taking away the rollout option? The Saints put on a clinc and ATL can basically expect more of the same the rest of the season teams comitting 8-9 in the box until vick proves he can beat teams by being a passing threat, why anyone would respect him as one is beyond me. Id look for teams to continue to defense vick the same way. Make them substain drives and have to pass to win.

Honestly the thing Im impressed about in McGahee's 3rd down #'s is the rec #'s and makes me wonder why we didnt attempt more passes to the flat or dumpoffs to get him out in space. Not good on 3rd and short. I hate to put this all on one person. I think its a combination of oline and willis, I'm willing to give this new group time as willis has not had a signifcant amount of 3rd and short opportunities this season. However looking at this years stats Id implore the bills to keep running willis to the left side of our offensive line where he's averaging a staggering 6.7ypc on 24 attempts for 161 yards. Im worried looking at these stats about the right side of our line, where willis has rushed 21 times for 56 yards and only 2.7 ypc. So Either Tutan Reyes and Mike Gandy are far superior run blockers, or something is really wrong with villarrial or peters, but willis has had far more success running to the left side of the line this year. On the surface this could also explain a lot of the non success on 3rd and short, if one side of the oline just isn't holding up, but like dibs pointed out there really is little relevance to complaining about 3rd and short this season as willis only has 3 attempts on 3rd down, and only 1 on 3rd and short.
  8. Theres maybe 3 rbs in the league who are exceptional at picking up a blitz. 2 of them are not playing at this time. Corey Dillon, Curtis Martin and Priest Holmes. A lot of backs in the league are terrible, and I wouldn't venture to say this is an all the time thing with willis. There were times in 2004 when he looked damn good at it. There was also the play in miami where he picked up 2 pass rushers enabling losman to get a pass off. Its more of an inconsistency thing. However people harp on it cause there's a big 0 for scoring tds so far this season. Score some td's and a lot of the criticism of not so hot blitz pickup will die down. Fans are fickle that way.
  9. 2 of the 3 teams we played have thrown for under 200 yards. I dont remember seeing a pass over 40 yards on this defense outside of a dumpoff to leon washington. I also dont remember brady/culpepper or pennington throwing to clements side maybe more then twice a game, as we do not play man to man one cb is not locked up on one wr throughout the entire game. I also noticed more instance where teams threw at mcgee. Generally when you dont hear a cb's name it's because he's playing well. The majority of the completions the defense is giving up are not by attacking the corners it's by attacking the middle of the field where the lb's are covering. If anyone can point out different and cite examples to the contrary please feel free to do so.
  10. I never said Jordan sucks. I said "didnt fare very well" which he didn't
  11. Having not seen michael turner except in a few brief glimpses of charger games I tend to be leary of backup rb's mostly because there have been instances over the past few seasons where backup rbs have made the transition to starters and just not fared very well. The most glaring being troy hambrick, kevan barlow, and lamont jordan

  13. And the madden curse continues
  14. I know what you're saying but look at brandon jacobs ypc with the giants last season and he was strictly used as a short yardage back in place of tiki barber. 3.8ypc isn't horrible for a short yardage or change of pace rb. And Yes I know Brandon Jacobs upside at this time is far superior to atrains. Im just pointing out that you dont need an allstar back there for short yardage just someone who can move the pile in those situations.
  15. That would be none other then Flea17. Im pretty sure every single one of his posts are about WM. You would think the man made his sister a baby momma http://www.stadiumwall.com/index.php?showt...12entry784512
  16. Honestly I wouldnt put it all on McGahee. I think it has more to do with lack of an interior push on our offensive line. If I recall correctly there was a qb sneak we ran at miami where losman gained absolutly no yardage other then reaching over a stacked pile of bodies on 3rd and inches. Honestly maybe I'm wrong but I dont believe atrain will fare much better. A finesse line is great for raking up yards, but in short yardage situations you do need bigger bodies on the line.
  17. I still say a young jake plummer
  18. Consistency and ball security. I dont care about yardage. Yards are really a meaningless stat. He has talent, but at this point all I ask is he plays within himself. I think too often losman holds the ball looking to make a big play rather then just taking whats available. There were times today where he could've scrambled and picked up nice yardage in the process to keep drives alive. I have no magic number of bad decisions he can make. I just want to see if he can bounce back from a bad outing.
  19. I'll support whoever the bills qb is, so yeah I'll support losman, but theres just things about him that make me wonder if hes really cut out to be a nfl qb. I dont think Losman will ever be a guy you can rely on to win games, but rather better suited to an offense predicated on the running game, safe throws occasionaly taking a shot down the field and stout defense. Which is fine with me as long as we win more then we lose. The biggest problem I have with him is the mental aspect of the game. Reading defenses pre snap, knowing coverages, and having a general knowledge of where to go with the ball if the 1st option is covered. I'll give him time, but Im by no means enamored with him.
  20. in 85 years of pro football and the 1st time it happens is to us I dont know whether to laugh or cry.
  21. same to you. Like the old saying goes. Turnovers are key. Im honestly suprised the jets had that much fight in them. I dont know if pennington will be able to survive without a running game thru the entire season, but at least with pennington healthy thats on less piece of the puzzle you have to worry about. Your defense needs a lot of work and you're gonna need a rb, but you got the qb, the wr's, good st's and looks like good coaching. Good luck the rest of the way up until you face us again.
  22. Id say the entire afc east is weak. The pats offense has to now rely totally on the run game in order to be competative. The Bills are extremely young and inexperienced prone to mistakes that will cost them games. The Jets hope hinges on a qb with porous armstrength, but his abibility to read defenses and get the ball out quickly. The Dolphins hopes hing on culpepper proving skeptics wrong while hoping their aging defense still can bring it. None of these teams are terribly good. I think its safe to say no one team is head and shoulders above the rest and contrary to preseason hype this sorry division really is up for grabs between 4 teams.
  23. Ok over the past few years jake plummer has been one of the least sacked qb's in the league. only 14 times in 03 15 in 04 and 22 in 05. he's also only had 14 fumbles over 3 seasons 4 in 03 6 in 04 and 4 in 05. With only 5 lost fumbles. This is a better then qbs like McNabb, Brady, Vick, and Hasselbeck as well as a lot of others. The biggest knock on Plummer has been his penchant for costly interceptions, but he's rarely one to fumble or get sacked. Infact Losman is most compared to Jake Plummer, and watching Losman play is eerily similar to watching a young Jake Plummer for better or worse thats pretty much what we're going to get with Losman. Hopefully he can progress faster then it's taken jake, and hopefully passes that ceiling.
