  1. Evans, Fletcher, Whitner and maybe parrish as I feel he'll quickly become one of my more favorite players. Already have a mcgahee, clements and spikes jersey.
  2. What happened to that nate clements? The one who played with reckless abandon and simply made plays. The guy who at miami in 2003, ran all the way across the field to pick off a pass intended for chris chambers who was being covered by winfield? The guy with 8 forced fumble 18 interceptions and 6 tds 4 int 2 punt return in his first 4 years? It would be nice to have back the guy many considered to be a top 5 cb. The current version is no where near that guy, and I'm as big of a clements fan as it gets, but watching the 05/06 version of Nate is disturbing. Still though the thought of losing him and having terrence mcgee as our #1 is even more disturbing.
  3. oh jesus. Yeah lets get rid of every good player we have. Nate/Willis/Fletcher/TKO/Schobel while we're at it lee evans will want to get paid when his contract is up so he should go too before that becomes an issue. We can fill our roster with high motor lunchpail guys who try hard
  4. Sammy never became a fb until he went to Miami. I always liked him though. As far as fullbacks go though. I'd like to have a larry centers esque fullback again. He was a great option out of the backfield and not to shabby picking up the blitz either.
  5. DT- Tiny Tim is terrible. Larry Triplett is ok, Kyle Williams is decent at times. I think a lot of his hype was based off preseason I haven't seen him do much of anything since. I love the potential of John McCargo, he's lightning quick off the snap, and has the potential to be a real presence if he can stay healthy. This unit needs a serious upgrade though. Relying on potential is not the way to go. De- Save Schobel this unit is attrocious. If the tampa 2 system is ever going to work we're going to need a serious upgrade at de. The teams that run this system have a monster pass rusher. Tampa- Simeon Rice, Colts- Dwight Freeney, Chicago- Ogun, Alex Brown, Mark Anderson etc etc Us- Ryan Denney and chris kelsay LB- Mostly depth. Possible future starters, at mlb and olb. London Fletchers contract is up after this year. Maybe they move crowell to the middle, and Ellison to crowells wlb spot. Still the depth outside of ellison is poor. LT- The Mike Gandy Experiment is over. Maybe he'd be best served as a guard, but he's a terrible lt. I'm not above moving peters over to lt for the rest of the season and seeing about the potential of Brad Butler at rt. Butler was compared to the eagles Jon Runyan in his prospect profile. That could elimate the need to draft tackles high if Butler pans out at rt and peters at lt. Rb- Yeah Yeah I know the line the line. I think if anything this nfl season has proven the importance of having more then one good back. The more succesful running teams in this league have 2 good rb's. The days of relying on one guy are over. Give defenses something else to think about. New Orlenas has mcallister/bush. Pats have Dillon/Maroney. Chargers Tomlinson/Turner. Giants Barber/Jacobs. Cowboys Jones/Barber. The list goes on. I dont care how good or great your starter is. Every team needs that 2nd guy who can add something else. LG/RG/C I dont think reyes is that bad, but we could do better. Its also high time whether or not to see if Preston can be the man of the future at rg or center.
  6. Its the lack of quality offensive linemen, being forced to keep your te's in to block. That or the te's we have just arent good route runners.
  7. I agreed with the majority of your post, and maybe I misinterpreted you, so if I did I apologize in advance. A "work in progress" Our dline has one legit starter in Aaron Schobel. I like Larry Triplett I think he's a good secondary dt. Tim Anderson/Chris Kelsay/Ryan Denney really have no business as starters in this league. The dline is in serious need of upgrading. As much flak as people around here have given the secondary, I find a lot of that unjustifiable, considering the pressure we get on qb's in nill. Interior or on the edges. The whole premise of the tampa 2 is to create pressure with your defensive line with very little blitzing. When you can't accomplish this you're going to get killed in the secondary. Having rookies at safety will make it look worse. I know it's easy to point out skill players, but I put a lot of our defensive woes on the inadequate dline. You win and lose games in the trenches, and the talent right now just isn't there on either side of the line. 1-2 more drafts and hopefully it will be. I'm not really going to throw anyone under the bus, cause the talent just isn't there yet.
  8. That in a nutshell was probably the dumbest thing the cardnials did. I know the leinart and edge fumbles hurt, and teams rarely ever go for directional kicking, but it was fairly obvious hester was taking that to the house as soon as player knocked off his foot my first reaction was hesters going to score. In that situation with Grossman playing horrible, I would've punted out of bounds. Even if they shanked it. The bears offense was nill. Take your chances with your defense. Denny Green taking the game out of the hands of leinart on the final drive was probably just as dumb. The cards have no ability to run the ball with the oline they have and Leinart had completed his last 6 pass attempts. It was far too conservative Herm Edwards esque.
  9. Tupac had a great grasp of lyrics and knew exactaly the effect his death would have on his fans. He was a great lyricist. Where as Biggie had better use of stringing bars together. Pac had a more social view of rap, where as BIG was mostly about just the street life aspect of the game. Probably be murdered for the sh-- that I said I bring the real, be a legend, breathin or dead- 2Pac Against all odds With that said I dont like the fusion of mixing football with rap music. It's probably done because well it's no secret the large majority of football players are black, but the large majority of football fans probably aren't fans of the genre. I wish the nfl would step away from acts like U2 as well, or political agenda bands. Get back to music please. This is all.
  10. Hey now I never said we have a shot I just said it would be nice to have someone like him at dt and he would be a good fit for the system. I didn't realize he re-signed already. Don't put words in my words. I also never said we should let clements walk. I like Nate Clements. I hope we keep Clements around unless we can get considerable value for him. Whether that comes in the form of a player that can contribute or a high draft pick 1st or 2nd rd pick.
  11. did not know that. Oh well
  12. I know he's a restricted free agent next year, but damn would it be great to get a dt like him. Would be a perfect fit for the system.
  13. actually 2nd game. He played really well putting the cards in position to win against the chiefs if not for a defensive collapse costing them the lead, then leading the cards down the field for a chance to send it to ot and nasty neil shanking a fg. M. Leinart 22/35 253 2 1 and tonight M. Leinart 13/18 125 2 0 I'm not one of those "why didnt we draft so and so guys". I just think it speaks highly of how mature and how quickly Leinart has adapted to the nfl.
  14. The cards oline is terrible. good qb's make lines look better then they are period. This isn't a slam against losman, its amazing what leinart is doing though in only his 2nd start against the so called "best team in football".
  15. Matt Leinart is going to be a superstar qb. We have losman and it is what it is, but it takes nothing away from Leinart. He's extremely smart, great at reading defenses, knows situations well. A superstar in the making.
  16. sure if we need a punt returner. As a corner no thanks. Similar to ahmad caroll. Amazing speed, very little in the way of recognition skills.
  17. This is what happens when 3/4ths of your starting dline are white guys. and the only legit starter is a white de. As bad as the oline is I think it needs less work then the dline which is downright abysmal.
  18. Man you're beating a dead horse around here. People won't realize how good nate was till he's gone. They'll simply reflect on the negative, and move on to a new whipping boy. They did it with Winfield, Ruben Brown, Pat Williams, Sam Adams, Moulds etc etc etc. Nate's a very good corner and will get paid as such. Where as we'll wait for youboty to develop and repeat the process of drafting a corner only to see him leave via free agency, cause we don't, or won't pay him to stick around.
  19. Roy Williams 06 stats 1 sea 3 36 0 2 chi 6 71 0 3 gnb 7 138 1 4 stl 9 139 0 5 min 1 7 0 6 buff 10 161 1
  20. As for who to throw the blame on. I'll throw it on steve fairchild and the offensive game plan. It's a case of looking at the stats. I thought we were going to see an offense dedicated to running the football so after averaging 25+ carries through the first 4 games in the last 2 willis is averaging 15 carries the last 2. I thought we'd see a lot more commitment to the run, then we saw today. Why they're putting the outcome of games in the hands of losman instead of giving the rock to Willis, keeping the offense in manageable down and distance and letting losman just manage the game baffles my mind. After years of hearing "Commitment to the run game" it would be nice for once to see it instead of lip service.
  21. Considering their oline is injured Id say Id agree there but man dont even try to convince me that triplett/anderson/schobel/kelsay are better then shaun rogers/Cody/James Hall/Kallimba Edwards. We're horribly weak along the defensive line, outside of schobel we have no legit starters on the dline at all. Both the dline and oline are in serious need of upgrades
  22. he missed some blocks man he didn't kill your mother. It's just a game
  23. McGee got worked harder then an asian intern at a massage parlor. He should be a nickle back in this league, but if we insist on playing him as a starter the dline will have to be seriously upgraded. we have 3 white guys as starters for christ sake. Is it any wonder we dont get a pass rush to help out our secondary?
  24. I dont think we'll get it but it does look like a pick to me. Hand was under the ball
