  1. good question Im wondering the same exact thing
  2. diet pepsi machine
  3. Im not a mike vick fan. I've hammered down on him in the past for his inaccuracy as a passer, and as a qb in general, but seriously if people would rather have losman then vick
  4. Why? Leftwich really isn't that good, and without a running game he's pretty awful. People complain about losmans touch on swing passes and short routes. Leftwich has one speed, take your head off with a bullet. and who knows how leftwich would do if he's not throwing to 6'4 receivers all the time. Leftwich seems like a fun guy to root for, but his mechanics are sloppy.
  5. The packers are killing it with the running game. Best Packers team ever?
  6. Ellison seemed pretty good for a rookie and was doing fairly well. In a year or 2 with more nfl experience and getting his weight up to 240 I think he'll turn out to be a fairly productive starter. Not that he's TKO, but then again TKO doesn't look like TKO. However it's bad enough fletchers contract is up after this season, can we not throw spikes out of here as well edit: this is from ellisons prospect profile from nfl.com http://www.nfl.com/draft/profiles/2006/ellison_keith He is a versatile linebacker who is good rushing the passer, very smooth dropping into zone coverage, has the play speed and athleticism to cover well in man-to-man coverage and can make plays vs. the run from sideline to sideline. Overall, Ellison has all the physical tools to be a very productive starting linebacker if he becomes more consistent playing aggressively vs. blockers and bulks up to approximately 240 pounds. An added bonus is that while Ellison is a backup during his first season or two while he bulks up and learns to play more consistently, he will be able to make an impact as a cover man on special teams coverage.
  7. the colts are not winning a superbowl, not with that run defense. I looked going back to 1990 no team ranked over #20 in run defense won a superbowl. 05- steelers #3 ranked run defense 04- pats #6 ranked run defense 03- pats #4 ranked run defense 02- bucs #5 ranked run defense 01- pats #19 ranked run defense 00- ravens #1 ranked run defense 99- rams #1 ranked run defense 98- den #3 ranked run defense 97- den # 16 ranked run defense 96- gb # 4 ranked run defense 95- dallas #16 ranked run defense 94- sf #2 ranked run defense 93- dallas #11 ranked run defense 92- dallas #1 ranked run defense 91- wash #3 ranked run defense 90- nyg- #4 ranked run defense Currently the colts sit at 30th in the league in run defense in yards 32nd in ypa. They'd have to seriously step it up in order to buck history. Unless you can stop the run and run the ball you're not winning a superbowl. As it currently stands now we're in good position to grab gaines adams or quentin moses to add to our dline. Also Sam Baker will probably be around when we draft. So Upgrades to either side of the line will be around.
  8. It should've never been said. I dont see how it's a distraction to begin with. You would think after coming off a 180+ yard rushing performance and 27-14 win over the falcons and riding a 2 game winning streak there was no distraction.
  9. No I didn't ignore it. It was a good post, I just have to chalk it up to my opinion, like I said in an earlier post Barber reminds me a lot of thurman. Neither of them scored a lot of tds, but they were both tough runners, more so then given credit for, and great catching the ball out of the backfield. Barbers had 4 exceptionaly good seasons and cut down on his fumbles big time. The td thing is a really strong case, which there isn't an argument for. Other then tomlinson/holmes/alexander getting goalline carries and barber not so much. I guess I'm putting more credence on the whole yards from scrimmage thing so I'm not going to hold the td's against barber cause overall I think he stacks up great against guys like tomlinson, alexander, holmes etc etc and it comes down to matter of opinion and I'd take Barber over any of them.
  10. just to further my stance home about Barber. First player in NFL history with 1,800 rushing yards and 500 receiving yards in one season In 2005, Barber became one of three players in NFL history with at least three 200-yard rushing games in a season (O.J. Simpson had three in 1973 and Earl Campbell ran for at least 200 yards four times in 1980)
  11. Well I wont argue with you about sanders being the best of all time. That I agree with, but it was still a low brow move.
  12. Good for Barber. I remember last Monday Night I believe it was Jackson who compared it to when Sanders Retired, and all I thought was Jackson should shut up. Barber at least has enough respect to announce it now rather then leaving his team clueless about what his plans are. Tiki is a class guy all the way, as well as a great rb who won't let his decision become a distraction to the g mens season.
  13. Not to mention he's also leading the league again in yards from scrimmage is the current nfl leading rusher and on pace for 2,317 total yards. 1725 yards rushing and 592 yards rec. He'd be a shoe in for the hall of fame if he wasn't retiring after this season.
  14. I doubt it barber has more yards then any of them in the past 3 years. I've gone over this before but basically barber has more yards rushing and rec then tomlinson, more runs of 20+ yards more receptions of 20+ yards, longer runs but less td's. Barber is also the leader in yards from scrimmage the last 2 seasons. edit: Barber's 2,390 total yards for 2005 was second highest in nfl history behind Marshall Faulk's 2,429 total yards in 1999. It is also the highest total for a running back over or at the age of 30.
  15. tiki barber has been the best rb in football for the past 3 years.Guys the talent level of Barber are very rare. Barber reminds me a lot of Thurman Thomas. McGahee is a good rb in his own right but he's no tiki barber. Of course we also don't have a jeremey shockey, or plaxico burress or a defensive line as good as the giants, but back to the point of the thread. Losman does not show the field awareness or pocket presence that eli has shown. Yeah we lack the playmakers the giants have including the quaterback position.
  16. And they called Whitner a reach
  17. Most successful teams generally start with defense over offense, because well the learning curve for defense is generally shorter then that for offensive players, making it a more viable strategy to build your defense first. That's why it didn't suprise me we chose McCargo over Mangold or any other ol there. I know the ol is horrible, but It's not going out on a limb that the dl just may infact be worse off, or at least just as bad as the ol.
  18. by far to the left Left 7 47 262 0.0 5.6 1 Wide Left 6 5 23 0.0 4.6 0 Wide Right 7 17 54 0.0 3.2 0 Right 7 43 104 0.0 2.4 0
  19. Myself I was hoping for Mathias Kiwanuka or McCargo, we got McCargo so I was happy. Yeah it sucks McCargo got hurt and Mangold is playing well, but so is everyone else on the jets. Their wr's are play makers and great after the catch. Pennington makes the rookies on the line look a lot better, with his quick decision making.
  20. no but its not like they've exactaly won anything yet, but like denny green said if you wanna crown them then crown their ass
  21. actually they found him 2nd http://www.nfl.com/draft/history/years/2004 2004 41 Denver Tatum Bell RB Oklahoma State I like turner, but he's gonna want to get paid too, so I doubt we sign him Hell why we're at it lets just get rid of everyone who shows some level of talent cause odds are they'll want to be paid. Let's field a team of talentless !@#$s who we can pay in raisins and lint.
  22. Are qb wins an official stat like pitcher wins in baseball? Here I was thinking that football was a team sport. Thanks for telling me otherwise. For the record Brady is better then losman and probably every other qb in the nfl, but he also has one hell of a talented team around him, while Losman simply does not.
  23. yeah what you said. The excuses at this point are where it's just not flying for lack of inexperience. No ones asking him to be peyton manning, but damn at least show you're not rob johnson. Show some kind of spark down the stretch then by all means give him a short leash chance next season, with some more upgrades around him.
