I'm all for bringing in another dt. Id prefer it not to be albert haynesworth. I just dont think the guy is very good.
-
Just to throw this out there the titans have the worst defense in the nfl 31st in rush. The Bills with our smaller dt's 20th. Before Haynesworth 5 game suspension the titans gave up 91,241,159. and 97(before he got kicked out in the 3rd quater for stomping on the cowboys center head) Tell me again why we should sign Haynesworth... Oh yeah because he's fat Pass

Bills loss to Colts - different POV
MartyBall4Buffalo replied to Dan's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
The chicago bears havent won a playoff game since 1994. That will probably change this year, but where do they have room for much smack talk? The Eagles Wake me up when McNabb wins a superbowl. -
Do you think Willis is overrated?
MartyBall4Buffalo replied to 2003's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Show me who is? I think it's a little out of line to compare him to a sure fire future hof, and one of the best rb's of all time. Very few rb's are Thurman Thomas type good. Way to go out on a limb there. I suppouse he's no Barry Sanders as well -

MartyBall4Buffalo replied to 2003's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Overrated in what sense? That he hasn't lived up to a often misquote when he said he feels he's the best? Sure ok. Overrated in that sense that he isn't a good rb. Nope not overrated. How about we keep him and atrain and use them as a tandem. In todays nfl it's a proven fact you need 2 good rbs to be a sucessful running team, and Willis and Atrain would make a pretty good tandem. We also lack a passing offense and an offensive line to help the run game. So no I wouldn't trade him cause odds are as I showed in another post most starting rb's are 1st or 2nd rd picks, and we have much bigger needs in the trenches then looking for another rb. So I'd look to improve the lines while using willis/thomas as a 1-2 combo like other teams do. -

Three losses by field goal.....
MartyBall4Buffalo replied to AnthonyF's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
30th in scoring offense 12th in scoring defense. Yeah I dont think I'll blame the defense here. You don't win very many games when you average 15.5pts per game offensively. -
Is anyone still enjoying last year's
MartyBall4Buffalo replied to Albany,n.y.'s topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
yeah and if we lost to carolina in 2001 we could've had julius peppers. sh-- happens -
Which would be kinda funny in a sad sort of way. I still have bad memories of andre johnson in 2003 when he broke thru our entire secondary and not a one tackled him even though there was no less then 5 people in position.

Furthermore if someone could explain when we're suppouse to find these "dime a dozen rbs at the same picks we're suppouse to be drafting linemen. Thank god fans don't run teams we'd be creating holes we don't have.

Philly might get rid of Kearse
MartyBall4Buffalo replied to jdubs's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
if this was still 2004 I would've loved to get kearse, now not so much. I'm sure he's better then chris kelsay or ryan denney, but he's far too injury prone and aging. I'd prefer to get someone younger who we can keep for awhile. -
uh huh 2005 Buffalo Bills 15 14 81 816 10.1 55 4 - moulds 2005 Buffalo Bills 16 15 48 743 15.5 65 7 - evans Last time I checked decoy receivers dont lead their teams in catches or yards. I wouldnt say so much he's a decoy receiver as much as people respect moulds a hell of a lot more then jabar gaffney or corey bradford. I'd still take a declining moulds over any receiver we have save evans.

If we are in the top 5 picks next year....
MartyBall4Buffalo replied to ans4e64's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I agree 100% -
I think Willis and Atrain are actually quite similar in running style. I think atrains experience allows him to read blocks a little better and it's viewed as being more explosive. Personally I would love to see the 2 of them used as a 1-2 punch next year. Atrain will be a young 29 he really hasnt had many carries the past few years, and used correctly they could be one of the more formidable rb duos in the league.

the story for jets is the effiency of their offense. Pennington makes smart reads, and gets the ball out quick. He doesn't spread the ball around as much as he used to, but I attribute that more to lack of talent around him, but he works well with what he has. The jets also have more of a run game then people realize. While not great it's actually better then their pass offense. 5th in rushing attempts 15th in yards, and 10th in rushing tds. Schottenheimer keeps them in manageable situations and keeps games close enough where pennington isn't forced to try to push the ball down the field. There worst game was against the jags otherwise their avg margin of wins has been 5.6pts and avg margin of losses has been 14.5 not counting the jags it drops down to 5.6pts. They play it tight to the vest, with controlled game plan and decent but far from great offense.

Maybe Travis Henry is the best RB in the game?
MartyBall4Buffalo replied to Lv-Bills's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Two quick points. 1. You do remember how henry did here in 2004 when he lost his job to willis and how willis did that year correct? Ok now about your stats. Looking at the surface you have a point then all of a sudden you look up stats and realize willis faced the #3 rushing defense twice, #12 rush defense, #28th rush defense, #1 rush defense, #10 rush defense, and #25 rush defense. I didn't count the packers game but gb is the #7 rush defense. So Mcgahee faced 5 top 12 rush defenses counting the pats who are the #3 rush defense twice and 2 bottom tier defenses All with the #31 passing offense in the league. Oh How art thou Henry has faced the #12 rush defense, #32 rush defense, #17, #27, #14, and #2 rush defense. So Henry faced 2 top 12 rush defenses and 4 bottom 15 run defenses. My point is the stats aren't all that dissimilar with McGahee facing better competition. How about instead of getting rid of the decent players we happen to have we worry about improving the lines and thus probably increasing the performance level of our skill players? I don't get some peoples logic that that they can get rid of good players magically fill the lines, and somehow find a decent player to fill another hole. Why create more holes when you don't have to? -
Brunell benched, Campbell to start

Yeah with Portis out with a broken hand, and the redskins out of the nfc playoff pictures it's the right time to make the move. -
Some Positives of the Game
MartyBall4Buffalo replied to Bills Fan888's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Well first let me say. I would hope he performed better then someone who didnt play Secondly what does it matter? So he performed better then someone else? I would hope skill players on the same team perform in unison with one another and both play well. Overall I root for the laundry not the individual player. Yeah theres players I like over others, but I care far more about the success of the team as a whole. As far as not knowing about the bills passing game I never claimed I did. I can only go by what I saw and what I've seen. Maybe you've seen things out of losman that tell you with more experience and better oline he can be the guy we hoped we'd get when we drafted him. Personally I haven't seen it. I'm more then willing to give him the rest of the year. I won't apologize though for expecting more out of him then just hoping he doesn't turn the ball over. -

MartyBall4Buffalo replied to Bills Fan888's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Sure it's always good when you dont turn the ball over, but I just dont see anything positive about our offense, so excuse me for not being happy about a qb who's been in the pros for 4 years who struggles to throw for 100 yards and put points on the board. No turnovers are fine. For what we gave up for him it's dissapointing that's the only positive. -

Are expectations that low that well yippie skippie he didn't turn it over so it was a good day is acceptabe for a guy we spent a 1st 2nd and 5th rd draft pick on? -
Yeah all he does is throw to gates dude, and average 230 yards a game and on pace for 23 tds and 5ints, Id hate to have production out of my qb. It's so much better to have a qb who's criteria for being good is "well at least he didn't turn it over" M. Floyd 5 109 1 46 A. Gates 5 69 0 27 L. Tomlinson 6 54 0 19 K. McCardell 2 49 0 25 V. Jackson 1 18 0 18 B. Manumaleuna 2 14 2 9 E. Parker 1 14 0 14 L. Neal 2 10 0 13 Yeah all he does is throw to gates

MartyBall4Buffalo replied to truth on hold's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
those bengal defenses have been stellar under lewis -
The difference Damon Huard had 11 tds and 1 int coming into this week. Defenses at least had to respect the threat of the chiefs passing game. Losman well he struggles to throw for 100 yards a game. It's difficult to run when teams do not respect your passing game at all.

Could you see Seneca Wallace as the qb
MartyBall4Buffalo replied to 2003's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I was actually thinking about that possibilty last monday. I like wallace. He's played good in relief of haselbeck and without alexander to boot. If we could get him on the cheap. It wouldnt be a bad move
