Davis is a massive guard playing tackle but he does have the ability to move. If you wanted to build a run blocking offensive line he's a guy Id definitely go after but as a guard. I'll assume any chance of getting starks would be nill.

so is Henry better then he ever been or his increase in ypc a direct result of good line play and a qb defenses fear if not for his passing ability for youngs running ability? Also....
Travis Henry- 28 career fumbles 15 lost
Willis- 6 career fumbles 3 lost.
It's one thing to look now and seeing he's doing well and say "We should've kept him" and another to ignore the reason he was dispendable in the 1st place.
The problem with guys like anthony thomas and other straight ahead runners is they generally have short life spans. Put a good line in front of mcgahee and I honestly believe we have a curtis martin esque yearly 1200-1500 yard back for the next 6-8 years. I get a lot of people prefer the straight ahead style runner, but I'd rather see the multi dimensional back who can do more then gain 3 yards up the middle. Get some good guards out there and the run game would improve 10 fold.
umm tenn gave us a 3rd rd pick for henry which turned out to be ashton youboty
rd 3
6 70 Buffalo (from Tennessee) Youboty, Ashton CB 6-0 188 Ohio State
Frank Gore is a beast if not for injuries in college willis and clinton portis would be working at mcdonalds right now. I only compare him more to edge cause I think they have very similar running styles. Gore can pretty much do it all. All in all I really have no problem if the bills were to draft a rb. I still dont think it's near our biggest issue though. I'm still maybe selfishly willing to give McGahee the benefit of the doubt, but a little competition couldn't hurt. Look at new orleans for instance. They already had a great rb in deuce mcallister and then went ahead and drafted reggie bush. If a good rb falls into our laps in the draft like say a Michael Bush or Adrian Peterson by all means draft him.
Maroney hasn't exactaly lit it up. I just get annoyed with the "grass is greener" mentality a lot of people have. Maroney in paticular seems to get a lot of hype. He's not even the best rookie rb to come out of the draft. One good game against the bengals and he was annointed. His biggest impact has come on special teams. Corey Dillon is still a much better rb at this point.
McGahee was bad today. I got no excuses. The offense in general was bad. Outside of a rivers fumble and good punt return we couldnt move the ball at all. I attribute a lot of it to the same way I attribute Edge's lack of success in arizona. Both are good runningbacks with horrible run blocking lines.
Sd literally has everyone in the box. Only way you're gonna get a running game is by testing them deep to loosen them up. They dont respect anything about losman so far.
This game is gonna get ugly. Losman needs to stop telegraphing every pass. Also we're not gonna beat sd with these short routes. They're crowding the los stretch em
Not sure of the number but when someone is getting kicked out another defender decided to take the outside where someone was getting blocked into leading to the huge gaping hole
we're gonna have to stretch this defense veritcally if the run game is gonna work sd is stacking the box. Losman also needs to lower his passes he'll get his wr's killed
apparantly not running back to the quaterback. Although it was underthrown. Not sure it wouldnt have been picked regardless. Bad play on both accounts.
