Adam Archuletta the highest paid safety in the nfl is the best? 30 Mil for a slot receiver? Letting guys like Antonio Pierce and Arrington (who was playing well with the giants before he got injured) and Champ Bailey go. The only arguable top 5 talent they have is clinton portis. The rest of that team offensively and defensively is terribly mediocre. -

JP ranked 21st in QB rankings
MartyBall4Buffalo replied to IowaBills's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Eli has played pretty damn good his last 2 games. He also has had some tough breaks losing his lt, strahan, osi for a time, arrington, toomer and a #1 wr who doesn't help him out much. Compared to last year he's improved on his completition pct 52.8 to 58.5. The yards are down a lot but he's also throwing less 126 less passes so far. His qb rating has gone up as well. Is he playing great ball no, but I wouldn't say he's gone next year if he doesn't improve. The injuries the giants have suffered have played a toll. People expect the guy to be Peyton because of his name. He's good enough in his own right with flaws. -
If Fletcher was 26 years old I'd agree, but I'm looking at it from the perspective we'll get at least 5 more good years out of clements. We can expect 2-3 out of Fletch. Especially within a system entirely based on speed.

No offense to Fletcher-Baker but Nate should be priority #1.

Bizell I understand what you're saying about Sands, but the tampa 2 in the truest form relies on a pass rush strictly from your defensive linemen since ideally you want to blitz as little as possible and leave your lb's able to cover rb's out of the backfield and te's. Sands would have to be more then just some guy who holds ground. -

Crowell? I think he's a better olb but he does have experience playing the mike. -

In the event we lose fletcher what about Adalius Thomas, UFA, Baltimore Ravens. He'll more then likely reach the open market. Would be worth the money fletch would probably want and has been arguably the ravens best defensive player the past 2-3 years. -

We're gonna have to throw more then 25 mil to keep Clements around. Id probably throw that at Fletch although that seems a little pricey for a wrong side of 30 middle lb. -

Out of that list as far as dlinemen go. I'd take Bryan Thomas, UFA, New York Jets. Id also like Jared Allen but the chiefs will probably want a 1st rd pick for him. Thomas has been a dissapointment for the jets the past few years, but finally seems to have come into his own as a pass rusher. I think he could be had pretty cheap. -
any clues the afc playoff outlook???
MartyBall4Buffalo replied to johnk's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
KC is pretty much out. I see them droping the rest of their games. Yes even to the raiders. It's a divisional game and those always seem to be tough. The chiefs looked lifeless outside of LJ against Baltimore. SD is looking to lay an ass whipping for comments Tamba Hali made earlier in the year calling the chargers soft. I expect KC to flatline the remaining 3 games. On the surface it looks like the bengals have a good shot to be completely eliminated from the playoff picture. However they're catching indy/denver at the right time when they're both playing pretty bad football. Rudi has a legit shot to rush for 300 yards, but If Cincy drops those 2 games You know pitt will be dying to eliminate the bengals from post season play. Although for the time being I'll assume the bengals have the 5th seed virtually locked up. Jay Cutler is a talented rookie. With that said. Jay Cutler has been awful. The Broncos defense has also not fared too well, making denvers run game virtually useless putting the game into Cutlers hands. They dont have an easy of a remaining schedule as it seems, as the cards do seem to play hard on ocassion anyway. I can see them losing to cincy and the 49ers. Frank Gore says Hello?!?!. The niners defense on occasion this season has also at times played pretty well. Out of the remaining teams though being what their reamining games are I think this is the team that stands in our way the most. I won't use last week jags/colts game as an indication of what the jags are. I'm pretty sure I could suit up and run for a buck 30 vs the colts run d right now. The jags are also a different team on the road catching probably the hottest team in the nfl right now. They also have Ne and KC. Although like I said I'll assume KC will lose out so it all depends on the jags losing their next 2. The Jets will play their remaining games tough @ min, @ mia on a monday night, oak at home to end the season. If they lose this week to the vikings I can see them being deflated against the fins. I think the 6th seed (assuming the bengals get 5th comes down to us handling our business and the jags and jets losing 2 of their next 3) -
I like how at the end he just puts his hands in his pockets and smiles like nothing happened.

Blitzes? We don't need no steenkin' blitzes.
MartyBall4Buffalo replied to Lori's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Indeed it is a big change from the gray era, but the dline can still stand to add a lde opposite schobel better then the likes of kelsay/denney. Hargrove seems like a nice situational player, but Id prefer a legit pass rusher. While mangold/ferguson look good they are also rookies. Ferguson is more up and down then mangold, as is to be expected of a rookie at a premiere position. They've looked better then they are because the jets do run a lot of timing routes, and pennington gets rid of the ball very quickly. As we saw sunday though when pennington is put in a position where he has to hold the ball, and look downfield the rookies will struggle. The jets also lack a playmaker at rb, have a one dimensional qb and marginal wr's, who would be a bit better with a qb who can stretch the field. -
Your 2 fave non-Bills teams???

I'm not a "fan" of other nfl teams but teams other then the bills I enjoy watching. The Bears The Chargers and Eagles. -
Willis McGahee loves sandwiches
MartyBall4Buffalo replied to ROCCEO's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
The Eric Moulds pizza incident was in college, I believe during a college all star game, leading to comments by Dave Wannedstat that he would never want eric moulds to play for his team. When moulds was drafted by us in 96 I believe it was Thurman who had pizzas delivered to training camp as a gag to the eric moulds incident. -
