  1. Jacobs got less and less productive as the season wore on. While I agree he moves well for a man his size. What worries me is as the season wears on can he continually stay strong without wearing down due to his size. 7YPC in September. 4.3 in October. 3.9 in November and 3.5 in December is paticularly alarming. As far as his yard per catch. He had 11 receptions that's not a lot to go on. He showed some ability to run after the catch with 43 of his 149 yards coming on one reception. Albeit against dallas who has made even fullbacks look like all pro players. I'm sure he'll get a chance to prove he's the guy, but I still say they'll bring in another more versatile rb.
  2. You don't build offenses around a wr ever. You build an offense around the line and running game. Not a wr regardless of how good he may be. I understand the frustration with the production of Mcgahee, but the entire offense was non productive. We were near dead last in every statistical catagory. Improve the line or any rb you trot out there will give you below average production.
  3. Because only the view of the small guy being offended can be brought to this board. Step in line or step off It's a joke that someone who doesn't whine about an overused topic gets ignored for having an opposing view just cause a hypothetical comment didn't get their panties in a twist.
  4. Because it's the raiders. They should hire Rob Ryan. He's done a great job with that defense considering their very lousy offense, and has familiarty with the organization. However Davis wants an offensive coach. Raiders all about flash over substance.
  5. Bump This sh-- Although I dont agree that he's played like he doesn't want to be here. I think hes played great when the team is playing well, when we're not he packs it in. However You're 100% right people need to get over themselves. He's no genius that's for sure, same as the majority of pro athletes who prepared themselves to play professional sports since Highschool. Academics takes a back seat to that.
  6. Honestly I hope Yoboty turns out to be a #1 corner in the event we lost clements. The thought of Mcgee as a #1 corner All any of us really have to go on is pre draft potential. Hopefully he lives up to it. Corner like wr is not an easy position to learn and most won't come in from day 1 and be productive. Hopefully he turns out to be good, but once again losing Nate Clements would be horrible for this secondary. Yeah I think we've had far too many posts like these and not nearly enough on how horrible a human being McGahee is
  7. The giants need to learn how to build a team. They're redskins lite. They wont overpay for free agents but most of their team is other teams castoffs. Plaxico Burress, Kareem McKenzie, Will Demps, Lavar Arrington, Antonio Pierce, Fred Robbins, Sam Madison, RW Mcquaters, Jim Finn, Carlos Emmons. 10 out of 22 starters are free agent cast offs. There is no core of that team and no direction to go in.
  8. If Adrian Peterson is at 12 fine. Fortunatly we won't have that dilema as Adrian Peterson will be a top 5 pick.
  9. I like London Fletcher I think he's a fine player. However I would not break the bank for a 30+ year old lb. I dont have an issue with where he makes tackles. Most mlb's generally make tackles past the los. For as much flak as he takes for being a liability against the run, which I think is unwaranted, he's a good coverage backer. He's good in space, and is a good team player and mentor to have around who has a few solid years left in him. However being that we play in a defense geared around speed, and being of the premise that you shouldn't overspend for players past their prime I'd let him walk. The eagles do this consistently rarely breaking the bank for players past 30 years old. The only vet player I can recall them going hard to retain is dawkins and bringing back trotter 2 years after they let him go. We can't rely on fletcher forever, and it's something that needs to be addressed. He gave us a few good years, but I'd prefer to see a lb with more size who wont be handled as much as fletcher is at the point of attack.
  10. Thank god for Brazil
  11. The chiefs should unload larry johnson he's coming off a 416 carry season his trade value will never be higher and he can probably expect a significant dropoff in production.
  12. Brian Westbrook isn't an everydown type back either. He shouldnt be a rb who gets the ball 25-30 carries a game. He's not a goalline back. Nor is he good in short yardage. He's a fine receiver and good between the 20's. Brandon Jacobs on the other hand is 6'4 almost 250lbs on the complete opposite spectrum. He's a one dimensional straight ahead runner who will take an absolute beating and wear down fast. Personally I'm of the belief there are very few if any rbs who are everydown type guys. The best way to go about it is having 2 rb's with different skill sets so you can avoid paying out the big contracts and build up your line allowing for increased production. Teams like the pats/Saints/Bears/Giants/Cowboys etc all realize that it's a trend that will continue.
  13. Brandon Jacobs is not an everydown back. Most giants fans are terribly aware of that. The giants probably know that as well. I wouldnt be suprised if they try to get Michael Turner another rb or draft one in free agency. Jacobs excells in short yardage situations but he is not a guy to handle the load.
  14. The Answer is No and Yes. No to Jeff Garcia being any form of "better then McNabb" Yes to the overall play calling. Once Marty Mornhinwig was given the play calling duties and mcnabb got injured the overall philosophy changed for the eagles for the better. I don't have the exact numbers in front of me, but I'm pretty sure there was a huge difference in pass to run ratio when McNabb was qb compared to Garcia. I'm not a big McNabb fan and think he has a lot of shortcomings. He seems to fold at the worst time in big game situations. He's also becoming really prone to injuries something like 3 of the last 4 years he has missed time. However when he comes back and the playcalling stays as balanced as it has been as of late The Eagles will be the nfc's best team. Garcia however does deserve some credit he's not only kept the eagles afloat but has one 6 straight games being more then just a "caretaker" but playing like the qb he was while in san fran.
  15. If we dont draft jarrett I would love patrick willis just to see him do that on a consistent basis to Laurence Maroney for years to come
  16. Ok First I would like an example of Willis's "Thuggery" arrest sheets, times suspended by a team or league. Anything that would define in the english dictionary the definition of the word Thug as a "a cruel or vicious ruffian, robber, or murderer. " I have no problem with not liking a player because he lacks the production you look for. Although I dont care what rb you get in here to replace him if we trot out the same line again next year we wont be making the playoffs next year either. Our offense was lousy across the board, points scored, passing yards, rushing yards, 3rd down conversions, pts per game. Total Points scored. To call out anyone for lack of proudction is not something to be argued. Making someone out to be a "thug" because of it is not the way to go about it.
  17. Disgusting this proves 2 things. The big 10 was really bad the minute michigan and osu played good teams they got completely owned. Second college football really needs a playoff system. This was just a glaring capper of an example.
  18. The biggest glaring weakness of pennington is his arm. It costs that team dearly. Pennington does enough that if you're in a close game he can control the clock and slowly move the ball down the field. With a good running game and solid defense you can win a lot of games like that however. When it comes to situations where you need 80 yards and a td in 2 minutes or less pennington will never be that guy. Or say situations with about 10 seconds left ball at midfield. Down 17-10 right before halftime. Most coaches in that situation would take a shot and hey ya never know. Not if your qb is chad pennington. New York Jets at 00:09 1-10-NE49 (:09) (Shotgun) C.Pennington pass short left to B.Askew to NE 26 for 23 yards (M.Vrabel, R.Colvin). Yes Im sure a fb will race to the endzone from midfield. When your bread and butter on offense is bringing in brad smith and relying solely on the run after catch ability of your wr's you will always be limited in what you can do offensively.
  19. Arthur Blank is more concerned with the success of Mike Vick then that of the atlanta falcons. Come hell or high water he wants to see vick succeed or die trying. Vick is being figured out in the vein of kordell stewart. Dont blitz him and just sit back and force vick to methodically move the ball down the field. Which he does not have the awareness or patience to do. Solution hire a college coach to insert a college offense based around the abilities of Mike Vick. Petrino while a good college coach will not succeed in the pros as long as mike vick is the qb of that team, and as long as Blank owns that team Vick will drag everyone associated with that organization down with him. Go ahead blank now spend more draft picks on wr's and wonder why vick can't get it done
  20. I agree 100% I liked Kelly but generally feel as a whole qb's are overrated and are more of a product of the players around them then by their given skill set. Kelly was a good qb who won a lot of games but in big time games he was no great shakes. His playoff stats bear that out. Would we have been as good as we were then without him probably not, but he was just a piece of the puzzle not the main reason why. Personally I always felt Thurman was more important to that offense.
  21. What does that have to do with the fact we kicked the jets ass at the meadowlands? That's almost like telling someone not to step on molten rock cause it's hot and the person responds "YEAH BUT WHAT ABOUT WATER IT'S WET"
  22. I dont know how you come up with this equation for leinart. He's won at every level. his arm is stronger then penningtons. If anything he wont win because of the franchise he plays for, but to label him as a loser after his rookie year is a bit much.
  23. No to morgan he's injured often. I'd take a waiver out on Jenkins but I wouldn't break the bank for him he's not the same dominating force he used to be. It could also be that he plays with peppers. Lucas wouldn't be bad. Todd Steussie is gonna be 37 years old PASS
  24. 9 out of 10 people from Long Island named Phil Agree. It's Ovah for everyone else
  25. All they needed was hard hitting 5'8 200lb safety bob sanders
