  1. Leon Hall- Gives far too much cushion in coverage, and will give up a good number of catches. Overall I think this is a weak corner draft. Hall doesn't have good speed and will probably mainly be effective in only zone coverage in the pros. Runner Up- Marshawn Lynch
  2. agreed. Bush has a very rare combination of size and speed. After the combine and nearing the draft he will shoot up a lot of draft boards. Had 23 tds in 2005 and cut short due to injury this year. I'm also pretty high on his backup kolby smith who I wouldnt mind taking a mid draft flyer on.
  3. good stuff figured Id contribute some of my favorites that you didn't use: I love to go to the schoolyard and watch the children jump and scream, but they don't know I'm using blanks. If you work on a lobster boat, sneaking up behind people and pinching them is probably a joke that gets old real fast. Marta says the interesting thing about fly-fishing is that it's two lives connected by a thin strand. Come on, Marta. Grow up. When this girl at the art museum asked me whom I liked better, Monet or Manet, I said, "I like mayonnaise." She just stared at me, so I said it again, louder. Then she left. I guess she went to try to find some mayonnaise for me Marta was watching the football game with me when she said, "You know, most of these sports are based on the idea of one group protecting its territory from invasion by another group." "Yeah," I said, trying not to laugh. Girls are funny. I hate it when people say somebody has a "speech impediment", even if he does, because it could hurt his feelings. So instead, I call it a "speech improvement", and I go up to the guy and say, "Hey, Bob, I like your speech improvement." I think this makes him feel better.
  4. Carlisle has been a starter the past 2 seasons, before that was a reserve olinemen appearing in only 6 games in the previous 5 seasons. I'm weary of broncos offensive linemen. They're good at crack back blocks allowing good cutback lanes for rb's. However will get manhandled and are not reliable in pass protection. I haven't watched the broncos a hell of a lot, but I'd be weary bringing in broncos offensive linemen.
  5. The Salary Cap is pretty much the biggest illusion of the nfl. Anyone can pretty much have cap space if they spread out signing bonus's here or converting roster bonus's to signing bonus's, or simply extending the contract of a player to lower their salary for this season. The Redskins play it perfect. However they just don't draft well to stay succesful over the long term, and with only 1 1st day draft pick this year that won't be changing anytime soon.
  6. Ok so Rosenhaus is an ass because he throws superbowl parties and we hate jim kelly cause he got fat and mcgahee sucks because he isn't as good as a HOF RB? Anything else I'm missing?
  7. Yeah if he ends up a full time starter you can pretty much bank of him being a weak link but using him situationaly and on st's and out of coverage situations it's not a bad re-signing.
  8. I really have no real big problem with this. Coy wire isn't anything great but he did do well when we played a 4-4-3 defense in run packages where closer to the LOS he tackled a lot better then I remember in the past. Also moving to lb he'll be better able to cover in space against rb's in the flat then deep zone covering wideouts. He'll never be mistaken for a Lance Briggs or Derrick Brooks, but for what he is most likely depth could do a hell of a lot worse.
  9. Manning is that elusive. I was convinced of that after the ne game in which he was under pressure almost all game and seemingly avoided sack after sack by simply moving in the pocket and a lot of throws while he was moving backwards or stepping sideways. I think a lot of people are being hard on grossman. It's not easy to get into a rhythm when your defense is on the field for 40 minutes. The bears could not stop the run to save their lives and put on a good display of how to not tackle. Addai had a field day catching what should've been 2-3 yard gains into 7-8 yard gains on dumpoffs, and addai/rhodes put up nearly 200 yards rushing. Was grossman great? No of course he wasn't. The rest of his offense didn't help him out either. Save one run by thomas jones the colts defense played one hell of a game as they have the entire playoffs. The colts did what a lot of people thought they couldn't. Win the battle in the trenches against a more physical bunch on both sides of the ball. As for who should've won mvp. Manning really had no business winning it. I pretty much feel regardless of the stats Peyton put up he would've won mvp, but to me it's a tossup between joseph addai and dominic rhodes who had their way with the bears front 4. Honorable Mention goes to Bob Sanders. Still a tossup between Manning/Brady. I'd lean towards Manning though. Mannings receivers in the playoffs haven't really done much save 2 games vs the broncos and he hasnt had the luxury of the type of defenses ne has had to bail him out, at least until these playoffs. Nothing Manning did this post season was anything spectacular. He's thrown a lot of pics, but has a great run game/defense to keep them close enough where he just had to make a play here or there. Manning though has vastly improved in being patient with the ball and taking the simple dumpoffs rather then forcing it to harrison or wayne. One more thing it really would be great to have a receiving te like dallas clark.
  10. I'll continue to dl music for free and burn them on cds k thx
  11. Because the bears dont have cheerleaders although a colts cheerleader intersquad wet tee contest would be just as good
  12. the 3rd time I tried it I got alyssa milano the 4th time it was a nature photo of a monkey in a tree
  13. Because in an ideal cover 2 defense you want to blitz as rarely as possible if not never at all. Relying solely on your defensive line to generate a pass rush leaving your back 7 in zone coverage. It's a great defense if you have the defensive line to pull it off. Forcing teams to be patient limiting their big play capibility, increasing the likelihood of forcing turnovers.Via your pass rush or simply, the opposing qb being impatient with the football. The reason I like it is because it almost forces you to make your dline a high draft priority.
  14. Hall and Nash had great chemistry together. Scott Hall was a vastly underrated wrestler and what Nash lacked in, in ring talent. He made up for in the ability to break away from the traditional just angry killer big guy and has quite a comedic edge From the nWo 4 horseman parody http://youtube.com/watch?v=ejmJrUqstxI
  15. A guy like pat williams in a tampa 2 is a rarity, and very hard to find which is why the majority of cover 2 teams go with 2 dts that can both rush the passer, maybe one is a little better at stoping the run, but it's still based on quickness off the snap. If we draft Okoye and McCargo can return healthy we can potentialy have a nice pair of dt's and solid depth at the position. Defensive line in a cover 2 is imperative more so then any other defensive scheme. As far as de's go. It's exactaly why I dont see chris kelsay being re-signed. You need pure pass rushers in this system. Aaron Schobel is a good start. Now we need to compliment him with someone else. There's some good potential de's in this draft. Much better year for de's then dt's. It's also part of the reason I really like the idea of the cover 2. You're almost forced to dedicate high draft picks along your defensive line. The old version of Takeo Spikes would be perfect in playing the weakside role in this defense. However if he can't regain his explosion he's forced to be a good strong side backer by default. It's fine for another year, but with spikes crossing that 30 barrier, Fletcher probably leaving leaving only crowell and maybe keith ellison it's almost plain as day lb's are needed. Lance Briggs is a pipe dream although I wouldnt be shocked considering jauron is familiar with him, but that would pretty much make my offseason. We played a bit more man last year then traditional tampa 2 defenses, which helped out to mcgee's strengths later in the year, as he struggled with zone coverage early. Clements is not a guy we can afford to lose. Yeah theres some decent corners in the draft none worth the #12 overall. We also certinaly don't need to be drafting corners early and often. with serious other needs. My hope is someone reaches for hall early so levy isn't even tempted in the event we lost Nate. Hopefully we're in a position were we can take A Pat Willis or Amobi Okoye or a Jamaal Anderson slips having to draft another corner would be disheartening
  16. if that's the reason why NFL | DA will not file charges against M. Lynch Tue, 30 Jan 2007 19:29:40 -0800 The Associated Press reports charges will not be filed against California RB Marshawn Lynch after an Oakland woman accused him of choking, slapping and sexually assaulted her. An Alameda County Superior Court judge granted a restraining order Friday, Jan. 26, to the woman. Prosecutors said a lack of evidence meant the case could not go forward.
  17. I have no idea who these chicks are but I would've voted for the nina chick if she was included but since she wasn't natalie gets the vote.
  18. Easily Thurman Thomas. . Great speed, good vision, great hands, hell of a running back
  19. I say it, because I dont feel guards in general are worth that much money. Besides Dockery and Diehl are better then the guards we've brought in, in the past. The redskins had the highest ypc running to the left side of their line. Dockery could very well be the type of monster run blocker we need here. David Diehl has been a starter since his rookie year and has played both guard and tackle. Yes Steinbach is a great player, but he's not the best player available in free agency and not the guy we should target first and foremost. If he could be had without throwing Hutchinson type money at him fine. Can you name me a 50 million dollar guard on either of the teams in the superbowl or any of the teams that were in the confrence championships? I'll pass on throwing boatloads of cash on a guard. and draft someone like Josh Beekman, Manuel Ramirez or Ben Grubbs and grab a Dockery, Diehl or Leonard Davis in free agency. Re-sign Nate and make a run at a marquee player ala Lance Briggs. As for drafting db's in the top 10-15 I don't like it. I believe you win drafting defense first. As they generally adapt quicker then offensive players. Building front to back of course dline-lb's-db's. No safety imo is worth a top 10 pick regardless of who it is. Hopefully we won't have to go hard after db's again.
  20. Yup. Rob and Scott Rechsteiner.
  21. Road Warrios The Steiner Brothers Demolition The Nasty Boys The Outsiders
  22. I agree guards aren't worth big money contracts. However we do need guards. I'd prefer a 2nd tier guys like david diehl or derrick dockery rather then spending huge money on steinbach. As far as free agency in general is concerned I'd approach it not going after big name guys, but young players who can contribute and possible starters while building the majority of my team via the draft.
