  1. first two teams that crossed my mind were cleveland and kansas city. Other then LJ/gonzalez I cant think of a draft pick they've hit on in the past decade or so.
  2. Personaly I like kolby smith in the middle rounds. Did a good job filling in for Michael Bush after he got injured. good receiver out of the backfield , from what I've seen of him seems to run hard. He could potentialy develop into a pretty good starter.
  3. I could care less about straight line speed wearing shorts and a tee shirt. Im sure hall is fast enough doing that. My biggest issue with Leon Hall is he'd too often get duked on the double move and his ability to recover left something to be desired. He also played too far off the wr in an effort to make up for his inability to cover deep, giving up a lot of catches underneath. He may be cut out for the zone scheme more so then a man to man corner, but I'd much rather see the front 7 improved instead of drafting another corner to see him leave after his rookie contract expires. Okoye or Willis offer much better value then at 12 then any corner in the draft.
  4. Fred Smoot is absolutly awful. No thanks. He's not good in man to man, nor zone and a bad tackler and has gotten beat like a drum the past few years.
  5. Heres the thing I doubt clements signs that early. He's going to want to take his time and see if other interested teams can match or better any offer he gets. As far as getting more then champ he'll probably get similar money. Looking at baileys #'s pre denver he had less ints 18 to nates 23. A similar int per season average. Less tackles per season. and had 4 forced fumbles to nates 13. It wouldnt be any kind of shock to see nate get similar type or better money.

  8. One more thing in the highly unlikely event this trade did take place. It better be for Calvin Johnson and not Adrian Peterson
  9. As of this point today we only have 2 "STAR" Caliber players on this team. Nate Clements and Lee Evans.
  10. stupid rumor. We're in no position to be giving up premium draft picks. We're not one adrian peterson away from contention. We need a lot of defensive help assuming we lost nate/fletcher/kelsay and offensive line help. Add to the fact we don't have a 5th rd pick this year. Giving up a 2nd and 4th would leave us with a 1st, 3rd,6th, 7th. Nope not feelin it.
  11. Taking out potentinal compensation for trading mcgahee we currently have no rb on the roster capable of handling the load. If we did I would not be as adverse as I am to the potential trading of Willis. If I was on a team that was a perrenial playoff team and had needed a rb to get me to that next level then yes I would trade a 1st day pick for a guy who's relatively young, if I thought he could help them get to that next level. As for having him for another year and getting nothing or trading him for some perceived value I'd rather keep him on the roster and draft a rb to learn on the job. Im not big on the idea of giving a rookie rb a full workload. Let the rook ease into the role while he learns as a #2 back and you can see if he shows enough flashes of potential where he can flat out be the guy or not.
  12. Dominic Rhodes has exactaly 1 100 yard rushing game this years superbowl, since the 02 season when he had his last 100 yard game. Rhodes is another complimentary guy. Some of you guys are reaching. Chris Brown, Rhodes. I like Michael Turner but again he's been a backup to the best rb in the league. Hardly enough evidence to support giving up a 1st or 3rd rd draft pick.
  13. Couldn't have anything to do with the offensive line. Nope not at all
  14. Chris Brown does have skills. He has some pretty decent open field speed for his size, far from a burner though. A lot of the faults people claim mcgahee has, "dancing" in the backfield, not hitting the hole hard, not a great receiving back. Not good at picking up the blitz. All very well applies to Chris Brown. Even during his only 1000 yard season 3 years ago, he only scored 6 tds. He wouldn't be bad as a secondary back, but if we're going to get rid of a guy who is capable of carrying 300+ times a season, I'd expect someone good enough to match that production or better it. Chris Brown just doesn't offer that. I just can't wrap my head around the bills front office looking to create more unnecessary holes. Draft a rb to let him learn on the job for a year then don't re-sign mcgahee. I don't see how potentially letting 4 rather productive players Clements,Fletcher,Kelsay, Mcgahee if he's traded makes your team better.
  15. Chris Brown He's softer then flour. If you're going to get a rb you acquire one thru the draft not free agency. I still think it's entirely ridiculous to trade a rb under contract, and create more holes for a team who despite having the 2nd most cap room in the league will probably lose 2-3 defensive starters, and in a sh-- year in free agency for our positions of need. Brilliant!!
  16. So instead of going 4th to the browns adrian peterson will go 3rd to the browns and make himself more money good for him
  17. Thank you very much.
  18. With a cover-2 style defense, the focus is on speed and attaking the ball right? right. Correct however, the scheme also relies heavily on a run stopper ancoring the D- line. Wtihout a big DT to shut down the opposing run game, the line backing corps has to play the run Yes you need to have a dt who is a run stoper. However this is not to be mistaken with. You need a wide body as the basis of a dline in a cover 2 in collapse the pocket attack the ball. instead of emphasizing pass coverage and blitzing. The Bills dont blitz, most likely cause they can't. Wrong in a cover 2 defense the objective is to blitz as little as possible keeping your lb's and secondary in coverage limiting big play pass attempts. Not blitzing the qb. Their D-line (DT) is too small. A Cover 2 sacrifices size for speed and athleticism. Idealy if you can get bigger players who have speed fine, but generaly you want to attack the ball, not be slow and proding. there isnt enough power to them to force the oline to double teram them and allow LBs to get through and Blitz. Again in a cover 2 you don't want to blitz. You don't want your dline standing in a hole. You want them running and attacking the ball. yes it leaves you vunerable to damage in the run defense, but for every 8-10 yard run you give up you'll also have a good number of stops 2 to 4 yards in the backfield. As long as you have guys who can collapse and tackle. A big problem in cover 2 run defenses is tackling. It's a rather basic thing that get's overlooked. for this reason, we must get a big, shut down DT this offseason, whether is be in house, which is a real possibility, FA, or Draft, its a real need for this team. personally i think Mcargo could be this kind of player if he builds up his lower body strength and takes a couple steps forward. Agreed McCargo could potential be good.As long as he stays healthy and gets stronger he could be a great dt for the system. His college coach said he was quicker off the snap then either Mario Williams or Manny Lawson. I'm looking foward yet to seeing him progress.
  19. http://www.cnn.com/2007/US/02/22/porn.sword.ap/index.html OCONOMOWOC, Wisconsin (AP) -- A man says he broke into an apartment with a cavalry sword because he thought he heard a woman being raped, but the sound actually was from a pornographic movie his upstairs neighbor was watching. "Now I feel stupid," said James Van Iveren, who has been charged in the case. "This really is nothing, nothing but a mistake." According to a criminal complaint, the neighbor told police that Van Iveren pounded on the door and kicked it open without warning February 12, damaging the frame and lock. "Where is she?" Van Iveren demanded, thrusting the sword at the neighbor, the complaint said. "Where is she?" The neighbor told police Van Iveren became increasingly aggressive as he repeated the question, insisting that he had heard a woman being raped. The complaint said that, with the sword pointed at him, the neighbor led Van Iveren throughout the apartment, opening closet doors to prove he was alone. The neighbor later played for police the part of the DVD he believed Van Iveren heard downstairs. Van Iveren, 39, of Oconomowoc, was charged with criminal trespass, criminal damage and disorderly conduct, all while using a dangerous weapon, and is scheduled to appear in court March 5. Together, the misdemeanor counts carry a maximum sentence of 33 months in jail. Van Iveren said Tuesday that he heard a woman "screaming for help," grabbed the sword, bounded up the stairs, kicked in the apartment door and confronted the man who lived there. "I intended to hold it behind my back and knock. But I froze and instead, what happened happened," he told the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel. Contesting his neighbor's account, Van Iveren said he didn't look anywhere in the apartment except the front room, and that he never threatened the neighbor with the sword. "I had the sword extended, but that was all," he said. Van Iveren, who lives with his mother in the downstairs apartment, said he did not call police when he heard the noises because he does not have a telephone. He said he barely knew the upstairs tenant. Police seized Van Iveren's sword, which he said was a family heirloom. Poor guy now every time he watches a porno he'll have the image of being held at swordpoint in his head.
  20. Sticking with my home state products. I like Teaneck, NJ rb Rashad White to replace Lynch. 5'10 170 runs a 4.35 40. As a junior, White ran for 1,857 yards and 22 touchdowns on 202 carries. As a sophomore, White finished with 1,177 yards and 10 touchdowns on 159 carries.
  21. If Michael Bush is available in the 2nd rd you take him. End of story. I also like Kolby Smith if he's around in the 4th.
  22. What a great draft pick that was and the pats were awarded at the time "major steal" where they took Jackson. The guy always seems to have some kind of nagging injury. I dont know if they'll go wr in the 1st rd only because they have serious age related issues on defense. I'd look for them to improve their lb core and either secondary or oline with their 1st two picks, and maybe add a rb later in the draft.
  23. Leann Tweeden is nice, but for the next BOTD I want to see the lovely Kate Beckinsale
  24. I wouldn't take any cb in this years draft at 12. Neither Hall nor Revis are anything to write home about. Leon Hall consistently plays 12 yards off the los, and for a guy his size you think he would be more physical. He'll give up a lot on intermediate stuff, and part of the reason he plays off is because he lacks speed to cover deep. Revis I honestly haven't watched all that much but his speed leaved something to be desired, and seemed to be called for a fair amount of penalties. He'll be drafted high because of his ability as a punt returner. The one corner I do like is Marcus McCauley
