  1. Yeah it's not like both teams who were just in the superbowl had 1st rd rb's or anything. Look at the list of guys being thrown around Corey Dillon, Dominic Rhodes,Chris Brown, Anthony Thomas, Tj F'n Duckett?!?!? You don't improve a young team with this kind of garbage as your starters. I was all for keeping Willis and drafting a rb this year ala lorenzo booker or kolby smith and next year to replace willis. it's just gonna be really hard watching garbage like that in the backfield.
  2. Awesome so chris brown can be injured by his 13th carry and then we'll never see a run over 20 yards this season. The last time Atrain had a run over 20 yards was 2004, and the last time chris brown managed to stay health was also 2004.
  3. He is but I disagree with "signing anyone else" one p.o.s. from the free agent market is enough. If we trade willis and sign any of these remaining free agent scrubs at rb we better draft a rb early, and I mean trade up with cleveland for peterson type early. This is a real horrible draft year for rb's and real bad year for free agents.
  4. pass me some of what you're smoking please. Atrain is far too slow to accumulate 1500 yards. As far as hitting holes harder. This is a complete misconspection about atrain. He doesn't never waits for holes to develop. He simply takes the handoff and runs into the backs of linemen and hopes for the best. Yes his initial burst is nice, but damn learn to read blocks. He's not a big play threat, has no cutback ability and pedestrain at best receiving the ball. He does do a fairly good job in pass protection. Personaly if we're getting rid of mcgahee which seems to be the conception there better be a much better option then 3 yards and down on the ground anthony thomas . Maybe this isn't so much about atrain and you're just severely banking of the sheer size of the offensive linemen like peters/dockery/walker to be great run blockers, and maybe you're right(You're right about Dockery. Peters is getting better. Walker I dunno much about) and an average back will be able to accumulate yardage, but like I said I prefer more versatile rb's. Doesn't mean I'm looking for the next Marshal Faulk although that would be nice, but with youg skill position players I'd prefer to have something better then a guy who can do no more then run foward.
  5. Antoine Winfield is a better pure hitter, Nate is a better placement hitter. Where winfield would deliver great hits, Nate knows how to time hits to force fumbles, good as a hitter as Winfield is he doesn't hold a candle to Nate when it comes to forcing fumbles only 5 to Nates 13. As Far as most athletic bills player ever OJ(granted I never saw him play but going by highlights I've seen) and Bruce
  6. Kawika Mitchell isn't going anywhere as a backup. He'll be looking for better money then fletch got. Dude is slow can't cover, not a real good tackler, slow, can't blitz. He really doesn't offer anything that you couldn't find in the 3rd-4th rd of the draft other then he has some experience.
  7. Cool I like rhodes if he's a backup much prefered over atrain
  8. right now 26 goin down to 12 with wind 30-35mph
  9. Better for chicago in terms of a 2nd is a little high for thomas jones, but the jets did get themselves a good rb who's very good at picking up the blitz, not much of a receiving threat, and probably hit his ceiling, but he's a good pure runner will be a nice mix with the versatile leon washington.
  10. I think it was just figuratively speaking
  11. Lance Briggs may very well be one of the best overall outside lb's in the game at least top 3. If theres a better coverage lb out there hell if I know, and is only 26 will be 27 in November you have to assume he'll only get better. With the market the way it is now and factoring in how good Briggs is I'd give them a 1st a 3rd and takeo spikes and contract approaching around 65 mil over 7 years with 15-17 guranteed, which is a little bit more then urlacher got from the bears with his last contract.
  12. Good for travis good for us. That's one less team we can trade with to create unnecessary holes with in a weak rb draft
  13. Jamaal Anderson easily. Nasty pass rusher to go opposite schobel. Kelsay can continue to come off the bench in rotation.
  14. Having watched the chiefs quite a bit Kawika Mitchell is awful and brings you nothing more then a little bit of size. 6'1 253 He doesn't have the speed to play mlb in cover 2. His coverage ability is pretty bad. He can't blitz, and he doesn't force fumbles. I also feel since he's relatively young he'll end up getting paid more then fletcher did by the skins, and for a mlb he really isn't a good tackler. The contract he'll be looking for will probably be somewhere around 30-35 mil with 10-12 in guranteed money, and his production just doesn't warrant that kind of cash.
  15. The Bills should offer something along the lines of that now to evans instead of waiting 2 more years where he'll be receiving in excess of 80 million. in the next 5-6 years contracts like the one nate clements got will become incresingly status quo and be considered a bargain, making it very difficult for smaller market teams to spend in free agency, making the draft of utmost importance.
  16. That would certainly be different from the motivation or lack of that travis showed in 2004
  17. This is the reason why I have not been as high on Marshawn Lynch as others. I just think at the pro level he'll have to learn to run at a lower pad level or he will be injured early into his career like chris brown for instance. Someone like lynch is not someone I'd honestly like to see shoulder a full load his rookie year. I know he has big play capability, but I'd rather see him split carries and be brought along slowly and taught the nuances of the game, route running, running at a lower pad level and picking up the blitz. Personaly I'd still much prefer to keep mcgahee for this year take okoye or patrick willis at 12. Take someone like Lorenzo Booker in the 3rd or 4th rd, and wait till 08 to nab a rb in a rb heavy draft.
  18. 6 and I dont think we actualy signed this guy I havent seen it anywhere
  19. What rb hasn't kicked our ass the last 2 years. A lot of you seem to be making this big deal that "WOW DID YOU SEE WHAT HENRY DID AGAINST US" like anyone will mistake the bills run d the past 2 years for the 85 bears or 2000 ravens.
  20. ian scott
  21. Indeed. I'll never forget even though we lost this game in 2003 Nate Clements running across the field and picking off a jay fiedler pass intended for chris chambers who was actualy being covered by winfield. Clements left his man and jetted across the field to pick off the pass and if memory serves actually returned it for a td. It came right after pierson prieliou (sp?) picked off a pass but was overturned and the very next play nate took it to the house. The Spine buster on eric parker in the chargers game this year was also pretty f'n sweet. Guy was a beast here not many corners had a knack for causing fumbles like he did. Good Luck to Nate and sad he couldn't stay but happy that he got his pay day none the less. Goodbye Playmaker keep doin what you do
  22. from what I understood they were trying to keep him and pushed hard for him. However they weren't willing to pay what he wanted and wouldn't have been able to retain him and go hard after fletcher due to their limited cap space
  23. 6 years 18 million http://sports.espn.go.com/nfl/news/story?id=2785966
