Bills really pick #9 in the draft...
MartyBall4Buffalo replied to Chicken Wing '73's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Or we ya know stay at 12 draft peterson. Take Brandon Siler in the 2nd and best available corner and dt in the 3rd. -

no we don't. I feel much more comfortable about our lb and cb and dt positions then rb. I'm willing to give mccargo and youboty the benefit of the doubt. They were pretty highly thought of prospects. I doubt we'll be trading spikes and with a year of offseason conditioning ellison who showed a lot of promise last year should be good to go. Crowell is good and Id feel better about even a 75% tko compared to what he used to be. Then Anthony Thomas and Shaud Williams and some guy from nfle splitting carries. As it stands there is no bigger need on the bills then rb. -
It was more of a short arm clothsline but hey someone had to stop him

I like atrain but let's get real. Limited backs with no speed that aren't big play threats, and can't bounce runs outside offering very little in terms of receiving ability don't make #1 rb's. With that said Atrain is a great #2 type back to have who can wear defenses down. I love Michael Bush but in the 2nd no way in hell he's there in the 3rd.

This is pretty damn true. Julius Jones is a decent back with good lateral quickness and a decent receiver out of the backfield. He can create some mismatch problems, and would be ok in a dual carry role. He lacks any real power and doesn't break many tackles. His overall breakaway speed is a bit exaggerated, and not nearly the big play threat many make him out to be. Take this under consideration in 3 years julius jones has 13 runs of 20+ yards. The guy we just traded has 18. He offers no benefit as a short yardage back, and no benefit running up the middle. Dallas would want far too much on a below average rb. No it's not. This draft has 2 good backs and a bunch of fodder. Next years class is deep. This years is not even close. There's Peterson and Bush and everyone else. Marshawn Lynch a top 16 pick give me a break. I think we got a good deal for the mcgahee trade, but again this years draft is not "deep" at rb especially compared to the last few years. There's a bunch of marginal talent and 2 maybe 3 starting caliber rb's. 2 with injury questions and one with questionable character issues coming from a confrence with pretty weak defenses.

I'm came up with HIGH MOTOR because I'm white. -

What’s your draft strategy?
MartyBall4Buffalo replied to Mikie2times's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Peterson and yeah that's pretty much my answer. If not Peterson then Michael Bush. I dont see how Lynch is rated above Bush to be honest. My order of rb prefrence would be Peterson/Bush/Pittman/Irons/Kolby Smith/Lorenzo Booker. -
Doesnt look like Nick Harper is coming to Buffalo
MartyBall4Buffalo replied to gflande1's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Oh Darn I will lose a lot of sleep after missing out on a 30+ year old corner on the downside of his career, who's probably no better then what we currently have. Re-sign Kiwaukee Thomas, and hope youboty develops. Those OSU corners have turned out good for us in the past. -
because there are people dumb enough to believe it

Rosenputz aint done YET!
MartyBall4Buffalo replied to Mark Long Beach's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Frank Gore is a top 5 rb. An absolute beast and well worth paying money too. Rosenhaus is just doing his job as any player would want their agents to do. Besides playing in the nfc west gore will continue to put up tremendous stats. -
Here you go all you Peterson fans
MartyBall4Buffalo replied to RVJ's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I would absolutly love adrian peterson over anyone in the entire draft. The way he runs with power, speed, and can change field on a dime is absolutly amazing. He's one of the best pure runners I've seen come out in years. The upside of this guy is worth the risk alone. Having an experienced vet like the atrain around would also allow Petersons workload to not be as heavy as a rookie, as he get's acclimated to the nfl and can work on conditioning and the nuances of the position. The only other back I would care for is Michael Bush, if we're sitting at 12 assuming we don't trade up and peterson is gone I'd go with Pat Willis and in the 2nd Michael Bush. Anyone but reaching at 12 for a marginal back like Lynch. -
If Peterson and Lynch fall to us at 12
MartyBall4Buffalo replied to DrDawkinstein's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
The difference in ability and potential from adrian peterson thru every other rb available including but not limited to the likes of Lynch,Bush,Kenny Irons, Hunt,Pittman,Darrius Walker,Lorenzo Booker etc etc etc is so vast it's not really worth going over. AP is a top tier talent and there is currently no team in more dire need of a rb then us. Id honestly rather have the packers current rb's then the likes of fred jackson and shaud williams. If by some divine intervention/miracle AP is at 12 you pray to whatever it is you worship and you thank them that AP just fell into the Bills laps. -
Trading down 10 or so spots in Round 1....
MartyBall4Buffalo replied to Bill from NYC's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
My two prefrences as of right now are trading our 1st and 2nd moving up to 5 or 6 and taking Adrian Peterson assuming the browns don't draft him, or moving back to the mid 20's and taking michael bush. He was a better college rb then Marshawn Lynch with real good speed for a guy his size. Just the kind of rb that will do great behind our big offensive line. Unless I'm mistaken and we're playing in the arena league. Being able to run and stop the run is how you win football games. For comparison sake Michael Bush- 3 yrs 6'2 245 418 2,386, 36 tds 5.7ypc long of 81 49 rec 650yards 13.2 avg, 2 tds long of 56 Marshawn Lynch- 3 yrs 5'11 210 490 3230, 6.6ypc 29tds, long of 71 68 rec, 600 8.8avg 6 tds 29 long I just don't think the difference is that pronounced that justifies lynch going at 12 while Bush is regarded by "experts" as 2nd rd pick. Having seen Bush quite often Trading down and reaching for him at 20-25 is much better then drafting Lynch at 12. I just don't see an impact level player coming to us at 12 with the possible exception of AP falling. Trading down may prove to be the wiser option. -
Some late rd sleepers. Everyone loves a Rudy.
MartyBall4Buffalo replied to Tipster19's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Always like to look at late round prospects as far as everyone loving rudy. I always got the sense Rudy was kind of an egotistical ass -
Not the back for the bills what does that mean exactaly? I like how everyone has this notion of what the bills desired style of rb is. Personaly when I watch adrian peterson injury history aside I see running ability speed, power, vision, quickness unmatched by any back in the draft. The Risk is well worth the reward. Any player can get injured. AP has unrivaled ability. I'd roll the dice on him anyday and 25-30 times on Sundays

Ok there stimpy. I'm right there wit cha tho

Agreed and how could you not be excited about a rb who's highlight reel is done to Quad City DJ's "Cmon N Ride It". Everyday I get more and more excited lately about the prospect of Adrian Peterson on the Bills. I know he has a bit of a injury history but the way he runs damn if he dont got a nice mix of quickness power and speed. I just have a feeling he will be a franchise rb.

John Clayton just said on ESPN Radio...
MartyBall4Buffalo replied to MattM's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Simple Speculation. Buffalo doesn't have a rb. Marshawn Lynch will more then likely be available at 12. Buffalo will take marshawn lynch. Personaly I'm not as high on lynch as a lot of others are and don't feel like he's worth at a top 12 pick. I dont think he's in the same league as adrian peterson or michael bush. Maybe it's because I've seen the other 2 play more then I've seen Cal. -
Best by who won the most games during his tenure at starting qb? Yeah that flutie guy was a terrible winner
