Walker of questionable character??
MartyBall4Buffalo replied to GoBillsDB's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Darwin walker isn't a good run stopper. He is a good interior pass rusher. I really like the trade he adds great depth along the dline to tripplet the unproven McCargo and Kyle Williams. Interior pass rush is one of the basis of the cover 2 we didn't have much of that last year at all. -
My guess is if the trade goes thru the bears will be targeting safety laron landry or ot levi brown

The Washington Redskins really do hate draft picks

o rly? Cincys record since spikes left. 35- 29. 1 trip to the playoffs 3 8-8 seasons. I guess it's easy to get better after playoff futility since 1990 and having carson palmer falling into your lap, but the bengals are by no means afc elite. Personaly I'm iffy on this offseason. No Rb questions at lb, corner, dt. No playmakers on offense outside of evans. If they don't think Spikes can regain form then by all means get value. I just hope whoever we get to replace him can play with the same passion and fiery attitude he did his first 2 years with the bills.

If you wanna hype tony hunt by all means do so. He's a tough rb who has decent hands in the passing game, but comparing college games to the speed of the pro game is something people aren't taking into account with the hunt. The fact is he's very limited athleticaly with little to no lateral quickness. When he manages to get good steam running foward he can be tough to bring down. He'll never be a big play threat and because of his poor inital quickness there will be a lot of times he gets stuffed. This past year alone he was stoped for a loss 32 times. With the speed of nfl defenses tony hunt will be limited as betwen the tackles runner. We already have one of those. I'd rather not have a younger Anthony Thomas, and prefer more of a back who can be a game changer. Hunt isn't one.
-
especialy considering tony hunt is being viewed now by a lot of teams as a fullback. Hunt may be the one rb that makes tj duckett look fast by comparison. Assuming Peterson is gone which he probably will be baring a trade up, and willis gets past the niners I'll take Willis and someone like pittman or kenny irons. Yeah they're no peterson but definitely better then the likes of hunt.
-
yes Ive seen kenny irons play. He's limited in the passing game, or at best doesn't have much experience as a receiving back not very fast but he is a good change of direction runner who runs with authority. The only reason hed be a 2nd rd pick this year is due to the overall weak rb class. I'd just as soon draft lorenzo booker and sit on a rbbc for this season and draft a back next year in what is slated to be a much better rb class.
-
Kenny Irons in the 2nd is poor value imo. He's worth a 3rd at best. I know he's an injury risk but with michael bush being out needing more surgery I'd spend our late 3rd on him while using our other 3 picks to pick bpa on defense, then take bush assuming he's still around with the ravens 3rd rd pick, and who knows he could end up being this years version of Frank Gore. Unless AP falls to us at 12 that's the only rb worthy of top 15 status.

Greg Olsen TE, Miami - NJ kid is a beast.........

I've had the displeasure of playing against him in highschool. Kid is a beast, and if we didnt have bigger needs Id take him in a second. -

Damn that sucks. He was a pretty good back when healthy and real versatile great receiving back. Back to looking at this weak draft for a rb. -

What's the injury status of Domanick Williams? Assuming he has a clean bill of health he'd be a much better option then chris brown -
ha. Meanwhile I remember hearing on nfl network not too far back Rosenhaus has raked in over 240 million for his clients this offseason. Whether he rubs fans the wrong way or not, his job is to get his clients paid. As far as I can tell he's done a great job of that. Exactaly what you want an agent to do. Not play nice-nice with the fans. Players aren't my friends I dont care if they're !@#$s or how many kids they have or what they do in their personal life. As long as the team wins more consistently then they lose that's all I care about.

Which would you rather have happen?
MartyBall4Buffalo replied to chetsap's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
10 grand is something that can go pretty easy. I'll take the superbowl. Now if we're talking 100 grand Id take the money. -
Unless the rb the bills are taking in the 1st is named Adrian Peterson I'll pass on drafting a rb. However I will make gb think we're drafting lynch trade down to 16 and take miami lb jon beason and pick up an extra 3rd rd pick in the process I dont know the draft value chart. Then I'd take tank tyler in the 2nd, and in the 3rd take a flyer on Michael Bush and best available corner.

The biggest hole on this team is runningback. At least at the other positions people have been pointing at we have Youth with potential. Youboty, McCargo, Williams, Ellison. The first 2 being highly thought of prospects. The other 2 who can continue to improve in their game. I also think getting Ko Simpson and Donte Whitner experience last year, will help to negate the loss of nate clements by being able to protect mcgee, youboty. While not in favor of trading a 2nd for michael turner, this years rb class looks weaker and weaker by the day. Especially with the news about Michael Bush's leg and Marshawn Lynchs back.
-
Okoye and Turner sound better to me. I dont have a problem with turner I just have a problem with a 2nd rd pick for turner. I really think it's too high of compensation for someone who hasn't shown much versatility in his game.
-
Getting someone elses backup rb who's going to want a new contract while handing over premium draft picks to a in confrence superbowl contender isn't worth it. Especialy because it's a terrible draft year for rb's. The last thing Id like to see is panic and handing over a draft for an unproven commodity. If I wanted to see my team do that I'd go root for the giants.
-
yeah comparing someone who averaged 341 carries a year to some guy who averages 52. Yeah that seems fair
-
Marshawn Lynch may have back problems
MartyBall4Buffalo replied to Chicken Wing '73's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Horrible year for runningbacks when most likely the best back we can get assuming AP is gone is a guy with a bum back, and will have to reach at 12 for him to risk not losing him because we have no capable solution. Brilliant. -
On about 76% more carries then turner has ever gotten. Absolutely no basis for comparison.

Michael Bush has another surgery on the broken leg
MartyBall4Buffalo replied to syhuang's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
It was mostly said in jest. Marshawn Lynch just doesn't impress me. I dont see anything extrodinary about the guy to waste a top 12 pick on, and pittman while he never was an everydown player has some nice speed when he gets into the open field. I could live with him splitting carries with atrain for a year and get a franchise caliber back in next years draft. It's not my ideal scenairo but Id rather have pittman splitting carries then corey dillon, chris brown or god forbid kevan barlow. -
Michael Bush has another surgery on the broken leg

I'd still rather have michael bush over marshawn lynch, but I guess theres always antonio pittman. -
Lions Shopping #2 pick
MartyBall4Buffalo replied to ndirish1978's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Calvin Johnson, Braylon Edwards, Kellen Winslow Jr. That's a formidble trio of receivers. They can sit on the potential of charlie frye for another year and draft someone like bush or pittman in the next 2 rounds.
