  1. Umm I take offense to that ya know
  2. Me Thinks the mike williams issues are what they were pre- draft. While he has tremendous size and good strength his initial quickness was suspect, and people wondered whether he'd be able to effectively run off routes to gain seperation from defenders and could be jammed up, and that he might eventualy be better be moved to TE. In order to take advantage of his size he could make a tremedous redzone option, matching up better with lbs, and safeties then he would with nfl cb's. I'd still take a chance on him if he is cut, because he was/maybe is a tremendous talent.
  3. 41- It was my number in pee wee football until I got to highschool and couldnt have it because my school retired the number. Either that or 59 since it was my highschool number
  4. I'm not exactaly hanging my hopes on Robert Royal as a major receiving threat. He doesn't have the softest hands and tends to body catch. While he put up "ok" numbers for a bills te he's hardly ever been used in this capacity. He's more of a poor mans Daniel Graham. With the evolution of nfl offenses te's are ever increasingly important. With a lot of teams using 2 te sets more and more, and sometimes even 3 te's. Having a te who is a bit more adapt at being a receiving threat while using royal at what he's known for would only make this offense better. The Bills may be willing to pin their hopes on the likes of Kevin Everett or Brad Cieslak, but I wouldn't complain one bit if we came away from this draft with the likes of Zach Miller
  5. Worst mock ever... Not bad other then tony hunt I could live with it I would prefer antonio pittman or michael bush even with the needed aditional surgery I think Bush could turn out to be this years frank gore with one of our 3rds.
  6. 1. Tommie Harris 2. Richard Seymour (when playing inside at dt) 3. Casey Hampton 4. Pat Williams 5. Shaun Rogers 6. Kevin Williams 7. Kelly Gregg. 8. Marcus Stroud 9. John Henderson I like Jenkins, he's a top 10 but I'd take these 9 people before him.
  7. Agreed. Disagree Other the browns these 2 teams dont really need rb's. The Panthers also have 1st rd pick of last year Deangelo Williams who is a good receiver out of the backfield and good runner with tremendous vision and cut back ability with good speed. With the cowboys having Marion Barber even if they were to trade away jones are good at rb. Agree with the browns but I'd replace the cowboys and panthers with the raiders and the cardinals. With the raiders announcing that there will be an open competition between jordan/rhodes/fargas for the #1 job coupled with the reduction in salary of jordan and rhodes not signed for all that much money I wouldnt be shocked to see the raiders take peterson at 1. The Cards might be thinking long term. Edge is up there in years. Although they may want to build their line 1st, rather then go the glam route of a rb. Although Leinart,Boldin,Fitz,Peterson looks awfuly tempting for a franchise who otherwise doesn't get much recognition. Agree on these teams except for the falcons. Petrino is changing the offense to more a power based team. I think they'll be drafting a rb this year. I tend to think Petrino will go with his guy Michael Bush in the 3rd. In the meantime Im sure they'll grab a wr early so people have someone else to blame except vick . Peterson would still be tempting for the texans, and after passing on bush/young last year I can only imagine the collective moan of the texan fans if they were to pass on another top 3 prospect who grew up in their neck of the woods. Obviously you didn't say this but reading around this board and others I've heard quite a few people go. "Even if peterson gets past the browns someone like the packers would trade up for him and we wouldn't get him anyway". I call bull sh--. I dont get how it makes more sense the packers would trade up instead of the bills. Being at 12 it would take less for us to trade up to 5-6 if peterson falls then it would for green bay. Personaly I can see The Browns taking a qb, and the only legit threats to get peterson from 4-10 imho are The Cardinals and Texans. If Peterson makes it past the cards. I really hope the bills call the redskins sitting at 6 and trade up. Hell with all the talk of trading picks for turner I'd much rather get someone considered to be a real difference maker and possible franchise back. Peterson runs with a tremendous skill set of raw power, blazing speed, great vision, and the ability to make defenders look flat out silly or run over them. True he wasn't used much as a receiver, but I believe this has a lot less to do with his potential in that area as opposed to the offensive system he was in. With Peterson's speed and vision I have little doubt he will also excell as a receiving back in the pros. All in all I do think we'd have to jump to 6 to get Peterson if he gets past the browns. I'm pulling a wildcard team here and going to say the falcons. Arthur Blank has shown no qualms about trading for potential. Peerless Price, and Ashley Lelie, John Abraham all come to mind, and with the picks accquired in the matt schaub trade I can see them forking over more then the titans and bills to get turner. Turner and Jerious Norwood would make a very good 1/2 duo and they can move on from the aging warrick dunn. With the offensive system change I wouldn't bank on dunn continuing his success from recent years. You're kind of mistaken. There's a good number of rb's, and yeah you can find rb's later in the draft. I'm not of the mindset that rb is as easy as a position to fill as the "dime a dozen" crowd make it out to be. Stat's for rb's are hardly indictive of the whole story. How does a back control a game. How is the back in different situations. Is the said back a home run threat, a workhorse, change of pace, scat back, goalline back 3rd down back. Very Few backs have a nice combination of all these attributes so while you can find joe blow, The great backs are a rare breed and I really believe Adrian Peterson is the next in line of that class of rare breed.
  8. Mack strong- UDFA Sam Gash- 8th rd 1992 Tony Richardson- UDFA Larry Centers- 5th rd pick Once again you can find fb's later on without wasting high picks on them. It's not a hard position to fill. Not saying every fb will become one of these guys but for the most part the fullback position is not an impact player
  9. Fullback is a pretty easy position to fill without wasting picks. However if we get turner I wouldnt mind taking brian leonard. He would make a nice change of pace/fullback/receiving back. Basically an everydown kind of guy who's not great at any one thing but a good all around player. A Cross between alstott and larry centers. I've been thinking lately that regardless if we trade for turner I would still like to get another back in the draft. Right now my main choice would be Lorenzo Booker. We'd then have a real nice backfield. Booker a true home run threat could be a legit challenge to atrain for the #2 role and also a tremendous receiving option as well as a guy who can take it the distance with the ball in his hands.
  10. Highly doubtful Lurch has a breakout year
  11. Been there doin that. I really don't get the point of trading picks for a rb unless it's for Peterson
  12. From what they were saying at buffalobills.com message board they bumped off the losman interview and the bills "State of the franchise" to talk about pacman jones. I didn't watch so I dunno.
  13. http://buffalobills.com/billsclipstoday/
  14. I dont get how this is a debate at all quite honestly. Adrian Peterson is far and away the best rb in this class. Runs with authority has tremendous speed, and great initial burst as well as the ability to change directions on a dime. His breakaway speed is tremendous and has shown a penchant for not being afraid to simply plow thru defenders. If Peterson is there at 12 it's a no brainer. My Vote goes to Adrian "All Day" Peterson. Peterson 3/ Willis 3
  15. He's a piece to puzzle when we have draftees like richard seymour, vince wilfork, ty warren, asante samuel, eugene wilson, their entire offensive line, laurence maroney, tom brady, Ben Watson. That's their "Core". The only person the pats traded for was corey dillion at which point they had already won 2 superbowls. Not exactaly similar situations. Guys like Harrison, and Thomas were available on the market. They didnt go and trade picks for those guys. Losman is far from being a finished product and while evans is a great player he's our only playmaker. The defense is a huge work in progress and we've been waiting to field an adequate offensive line for quite some time. Right now we lack a starting caliber rb, a #1 corner, and lb's and dline are question marks. We also lack other viable receiving options, but yeah let's compare ourselves to the patriots. The farm being draft picks. Lance Briggs isn't just hanging out there as an un-resticted free agent. Signing him would cost 2 1st rd draft picks. If something else could be worked out cool. I'd love to get a player the caliber of briggs. Mostly about confidence? I'm pretty sure it's a game about talent specifically won in the trenches. If we have anyone compareable to the the defensive linemen the patriots have I'd sure like to know where they've been hiding on our sorry ass defenses. Or maybe a guy like Tiny Tim Anderson is really the 2nd coming of Cortez Kennedy just lacking "confidence". My Issue about trading draft picks isn't really about briggs. As I said previously Lance Briggs is a tremendous player, who is probably one if not the best coverage lb currently in the game. If something could be worked out where we are not trading 2 1st rd picks for the guy I'd do it. I still would under no circumstance trade a 1st and 3rd rd draft pick for a backup rb who was a 5th rd pick coming out of college.
  16. Great idea lets give sd our 1st rd draft pick for a 5th rd draft pick who's been a backup the past 3 seasons because turner has "Experience" brilliant. That's really not the point. The point is compensation for production. 1200 yards for a guy who will get paid 30 million dollars or similar proudction from a nfl rookie who will cost signifcantly less for the duration of their rookie contract, while not giving away draft picks to afc competition?
  17. I wouldn't exactaly call fergie "hip hop" and I'm not entirely sure alanis morrisette is really relevant I honestly didn't realize she still made music since made her first cd about uncle joey from full house. I think modern day hip hop though is really bad, and the whole rap genre has drastically declined. Still far from the worst "music" out there though That honor belongs to Techno and Death Metal
  18. Yeah cause Adalius Thomas makes up the core of the patriots team Signing free agents is fine, trading high draft picks for restricted free agents or throwing the farm away for 1 player is not. That was really all I meant. The Pats have their core set via the draft with the likes of their defense line and offense. They can afford to go on a spending spree to win championships. The Bills have an undefined core with a lot of holes to fill. We're not one player away.
  19. Tv's are pretty expensive and I'd rather not get electrocuted, but I'd be pretty pissed off. It's part of the reason I said if AP is gone offer a 3rd for turner if SD balks well let them have their 2 million dollar backup and lose him for nothing next year. I really am not seeing a tremendous upside to turner compared to the production that someone like kenny irons would offer.
  20. AJ holds limited cards and most of it is a bluff. I'd call him on his bluff. Take BPA available at 12 and if peterson and lynch are gone offer a 3rd if they so no then take kenny irons in the 2nd rd. They can lose Turner for nothing for next year for all I care. Much better then feeding an afc power house top shelf picks.
  21. Nope I want nothing to do with turner for a 1st or 2nd rd pick. I feel we could get just as much production out of a kenny irons or antonio pittman as we could michael turner , at least favorable production due to the contracts they will receive compared to turner. Turner could very well be the sh--, I'd just as soon let some team morgtage their future to take a risk on big money backup then see the bills piss away draft picks for the possibility of "maybe". As far as briggs goes I'd have to sit on that cause I do feel he's far and away better then any lb we could draft and just hitting his prime. However I dunno if the bills have any real interest in Briggs. If something favorable for briggs could be worked out like swap of 1st and maybe chicagos 4th I'd do it.
  22. Not suprised he's familiar with Jauron having played for him from 99-2001. Was really good early in his career, now coming down to the tail end, would provide veteran leadership and a decent backup to whitner simpson.
  23. The Broncos signed Henry
  24. The difference is you dont win by trading away high draft picks. Yeah Briggs and Turner have experience, but you generally want to build the core of your team thru the draft, not trade those draft picks in this case to two superbowl contenders in sd and chicago in exchange for a malcontent (briggs) and a backup (turner). I'm not gonna lie if briggs were a free agent I'd be all over trying to sign him I really dont think there's a better all around lb in the game right now. He's one of the best if not the best coverage lb in the game. Turner I've yet to be convinced about plus he's 25 and not very versatile in his game or at least hasn't shown much versatility. I'm not a fan of this overall rb class outside of Peterson and Lynch, but again these rb's are younger and more of a refined prospect, then turner who was drafted in the 5th round for a reason. Am I suppouse to want to trade a high 2nd rd pick, or god forbid swap 1st's for a rb who's career high in carries is 80, and most impressive feats include running over the bills sorry ass defense in 2005 in a blowout sd win? Or the titans this past year or the colts in 2005, or chiefs in 2004. Not exactaly stellar defenses. From what I've seen in his limited opportunites he does run hard, but I'd sooner take my chance on drafting kenny irons or antonio pittman, since they'll be splitting carries anyway then lining the pockets of an afc superbowl contender. If we were one or two players away I could see the argument, draft picks are a premium however and we have plenty of holes to fill.
  25. For the bills sake I hope they realize teams don't win by trading draft picks for players. You win by building the core of your team thru the draft while signing 2nd tier free agents to build depth
