  1. Color me not suprised about LJ. I was basicaly called crazy a few months ago when I said at no other time would LJ offer better trade value, and that due to receiving a heavy workload may start to digress. With KC probably about to go into full blown rebuilding mode, and kc having no receiving options and no viable #2 back. They could sit tight and ride LJ, but it's a waste to Johnsons career and not in the best interest of the chiefs to give Johnson a long term contract.
  2. True but I hardly think the bills currently qualify for this method. Due to lack of top tier talent. I wouldn't pigeon hold this offense into a system and negate a player with the potential of adrian peterson assuming we can trade up or by some slim/none chance he lands at 12.
  3. Well oh snaps who wants a rb with tremendous speed, who runs angry and is a guy you can absolutely build an offense around, because he doesnt fit into a preconceived notion of a system. Everyone knows you need to get players to fit the system rather then elite players you can build a system around
  4. Or distrust in mcgee viking. I wouldn't be comfortable with the thought of mcgee as #1 corner. I hope the bills dont go this route though. If you're gonna play a tampa 2 I wouldn't put that big an onus on corner.
  5. I like Brian Leonard. He's a real versatile player with good quickness who can do a bit of everything, run, block, catch, short yardage. I dont see Leonard as a guy you can build an offense around. He would be a nice back to have in a rotation where he catches some passes out of the backfield and takes short yardage carries. I dont see leonard as a guy you hang your hat on. Giving him 20-25 carries and hoping he carries you thru november and december when you have to run the ball. The whole RBBC thing to me is laughable. By that I mean. Splitting carries works. You ride one horse then you change it up with another back so you're not gassing out your #1 back. Whoever's hotter at the moment obviously gets more carries. I wont disillusion myself into being so naive into thinking That you can away with a RBBC with Brian Leonard and Anthony Thomas. A Converted fullback and a below average power back with little power. To make Dual Rb roles work you at least need a 1a type regardless. We don't have that on the roster and as much as people wish it to be so Brian Leonard wont be able to run away with consistency in the pros like he did at times at Rugers. Brian Leonard at this stage for us is more of a luxury pick who's overvalued. You dont take a 2nd back high when you can grab a kenny irons or antonio pittman in the 2nd. Irons who has more potential reverting to his 2005 form as a everydown capable back with good lateral movement and quickness thru the hole who can shoulder the majority of the load then grabing a Lorenzo Booker in the 4th rd. Who has all the versatility of Brian Leonard, plus legit breakaway speed. Other then the fact he's a tailback and not a fullback. I dont see a fb/tb tweener as a necessity. As Well as the ability to return kicks and punts. Someone I'd be more interested in because I'd like to see McGee now receive more work at corner, then burn him out returning kicks as well.
  6. The reason Fletcher is no longer on the team is not due to his inability to shed blocks which led to inadequate angles on run downs. Which imo had more to do with a below average dt rotation which should be improved this season (crosses fingers) with walker and a healthy mccargo. It's mostly due to his age. Odds are by the time this team is ready to compete Fletcher will really be up there in age, and in a defense relying on speed will likely lose a good portion of his quickness. Statisticaly Fletcher had a very good season last year paticularly in pass coverage and when not engaged by tacklers can deliver very punishing form tackles. I can't really be convinced it was anything other then age as the reason he was not re-signed had he been 26 instead of 32 I believe he would most certinaly be a buffalo bill. As Far as Patrick Willis goes he has everything in a guy you'd like to build a defense around, good speed, movement, and range, good size, competative seems to have a good character with top notch football instincts and a very good tackler. While I personaly am intrigued more by the idea of getting Jon Beason I would not be dissapointed in the least with Patrick Willis
  7. The more I research into Jon Beason the more I come away liking him more then poz and a bit more then patrick willis. While overall I'm not a fan of drafting a lb high as I feel it is a position you can get away with later picks 3rd-4th round even. I believe Beason can be inserted at mlb and play it quite effectively. He's a damn good tackler, and I believe his 20 yard speed is a good indicator that he may well be suited droping deep zone in the middle of the field typical of a mlb in a cover 2 defense
  8. Depends. On one hand Ludacris seems like the better athlete but if you have a high priority on character would you want a charitable high character opera singer who wont hurt your good pr status. Or someone Disturbing the peace arguing with Bill O'reilly about marketing with Pepsi. It's a tough decision
  9. I don't know why you're smiling about that, but I mean if you like that sort of thing from prospect runningbacks I'm not here to judge lifestyles
  10. Oh boy just all the things you love to see in a rb. Great straight line speed, with poor change of direction ability. Goes down easy, sh------- vision and is compareable to one of the softest rb in the league Michael "Made of glass" Bennett. Pass. The absolute worst thing a rb can have is impatience and poor vision to find rush lanes.
  11. As great of a talent Calvin Johnson is. I dont think you win football games with the premiere wideout. I'd much rather live by the old adage of run the ball and stop the run to win football games then cater to the madden crazy crowd and espn showoffs. Give me boring grind it out football 150- 175 yard rushing efforts with an average passing game over the air it out style. Calvin Johnson is really tempting because he has all the talent in the world. Great speed off the snap. Willing to go over the middle. Andre Johnson v 2 but faster and better. I'd be much more willing if he slips to give up our 1st and 2nd and next years first to move up to 5-6 to take adrian peterson, Which is pretty much about what we gave up for JP Losman, and we'd still be able to adress the right guard position as well as get more defensive line help, so corners like mcgee wont be as terribly exposed as the weak link that he is.
  12. Combine and pro day numbers are nice and all, and for the most part I've tended to stay away from the willis vs poz arguments. Mostly because I haven't really seen Willis play much. From what I have seen I've liked him more then what I've seen from poz. I think Willis fills holes better and noticed that he tends to get dragged less by rb's and can disengage from blocks better. As Well as being more of a sure wrap up and explosion tackler then from what I've seen of Poz. Overall I think he has work to do in coverage but it can be coached. Poz's play to me last season seemed to slip. While he had similar stats to the 05 season he just seemed a half beat slow in reacting to plays, and at best seemed like a marginal late 1st rd talent, which is more of a reflection towards a weak lb class then poz's talent. Poz seems to have a good feel for the game, but his coverage ability despite his good showing of short area speed leaves something to be desired. At 12 I'd be dissapointed with poz feeling he's poor value that high, and would much rather Jon Beason who imo is better and reminds me a lot of DJ Williams.
  13. I never got the fascination with Lionel Gates. What did he average like 3.1ypc against 3rd stringers in preseason and score one td? I hope Marv isn't serious about Fred Jackson and only hypes him up due to him going to coe college, and playing good in nfl europe and that a real rb who's about 4-5 years younger with much more upside then a guy from nfl europe or anthony thomas will be brought in.
  14. I dont see the upside of trent green. He has a nasty habit of holding the ball forever and takes a lot of unnecessary sacks. His arm is sub par, and while he has good accuracy at best he can give miami a gus frerotte esque performance. Although I'd say Gus has/had a better arm. The Dolphins offer green less protection up front and a weaker run game. Every bit of greens 37 year old body will be exposed.
  15. Trent Green without the great wall of China protecting him Roaf/Waters/Weigham/Shields/Tait then Welbourne etc etc. Without the support of all star running efforts of Priest Holmes or Larry Johnson. 37 Years old. Tremendous move by the dolphins

  17. Substitute Stewart Bradley with Rufus Alexander and I like it

  19. The Difference being Whitner wasn't in recovering stages from a knee injury that hampered his speed his final year in college. That caused him to be a beat slow in reacting towards the ball. I'm not thrilled by the idea by drafting a lb who has a broken wheel in a defense entirely based on speed.
  20. Yup although I think you should replace "value pick" with one of my personal favorites Just a "Football Player"
  21. Cutler reminds me a lot of Kyle Boller. Very Strong arm, and good athleticism, poor footwork and shaky accuracy. Cutler also has a bad habit of not stepping into throws and will force a lot of passes. I think working with Mike Shannahan will help curb some of his bad attributes. He'll be protected by a solid run game, and decent receiving options. However I dont think he'll become the franchise qb a lot make him out to be.
  22. This a bit too complicated and I doubt anyone would take tim anderson if the bills asked for nothing more then a warm cup of piss in return. Taking Chicago out of the equation if Peterson Gets past the browns/cards offer washington our 12th and our 2 3rd rd draft picks.
  23. I find this amusing because you're sporting marshawn lynch in your avatar.
