  1. http://sports.espn.go.com/nfl/news/story?id=3295344 Any guesses on what the contract is? 7 years 120 mil? 40 guranteed?
  2. I think it's hilarious people are just blindly assuming spencer johnson is gonna be some great player. Can it happen sure. Am I naive enough to think, should Stroud get hurt, that we'll be "ok" at interior dt? Not a chance in hell. McCargo while flashing potential was a 2nd wave player last year. Kyle Williams was awful as a starter. One injury to stroud and we're right back to where we were maybe even worse. As far as defensive ends go. We currently have 3. Schobel, and 2 guys who should be nothing more then backups. It's a sad state when you can have legit arguments that Ryan Denney is a marginally better player then Chris Kelsay who's making some ridiculous amount of cash for his lack of production. Neither have any semblence of pass rush moves. While somewhat quick. Their closing burst leaves a lot to be desired. Denney is actually a better pass rusher then Kelsay, while being better against the run. We're sitting on defense with only 1 player who can legit claim he's a pass rusher. The other 2 can claim, one should start over the other, but on most teams they'd be what they should be. Rotational wave players. So yes I much prefer to add defensive line talent in the draft. Defensive line talent is the quickest and easiest way, to build a good defense, and make up for the lack of depth in your secondary. The Bills shouldnt' in the least bit think they're sitting pretty with their defensive line. Lose one of these guys, and you're looking at a 3-13 season.
  3. I know theres scouts out there dropping red flags about dorseys injuries. I just can't see him getting past the chiefs at 5 at the worst. He was a pretty dominant interior presence. Even more so then Sedric Ellis.
  4. Stewarts Root Beer>>Pepsi>>Coke
  5. To nitpick a little bit Saturday never really played with the Ravens. They picked him up as an UDFA, and released him in June of 98, and The Colts picked him up after that. His only nfl action in games, has been with Indy. Other then Vinatieri I don't think any of their starters have ever played a game with another team.
  6. Thanks a bunch, and here I was thinking I was cured of my bubble wrap addiction
  7. If the Bills can get Dorsey,Ellis,Vernon Gholston for a reasonable trade up they should be over that like white on rice. Especially for Vernon Gholston
  8. Yet he has 4 more tds then Josh Reed the last 2 years. Royal>>Reed
  9. Royals only problem is he should be a #2 te. As far as being the worst player on the team hardly. Royal is compareable on the offensive side of the ball to that of Chris Kelsay on defense. Neither should be starters, but both make decent 2nd string players. He's not as much of a waste at te as Josh Reed/Parrish are at receiving significant time at wr. As far as the worst player on the team. His contract is up but the worst player on the team last year, was far and away Jim Leonhard.
  10. Exactly my feelings as well. I'm not a big Bryant Johnson fan. I dont think he was the savoir, a lot of people thought he'd be. He would've allowed us though to take BPA early in the draft, a derrick harvey or DRC, or such. I just dont see any of these wideouts as some cant miss prospect. Like I saw in a post earlier today. We took Evans in 04 at what the 11th-12th pick. None of these wr's are the prospect Lee Evans was considered to be. Yes we need a wr and a te. Now you're essentially going to the draft, to ask not 1 but 2 rookies to be immediate starters, and big time contributers to improve a very poor offense. Yes it might pay off down the line, but the bills have too many needs still defensively. Especially on the dline and secondary, to overdraft skill players on offense.
  11. While I'm not a big fan of his, and didn't agree with the decision to draft him. It might explain why we took Whitner over Ngata or Bunkley. I wont forget the miami game, when Whitner was going around to players on defense, trying to pump them up and keep them in the game. Hopefully with some more solid additions on that side of the ball, he isn't forced to play so much in the box, and can free range a bit more in order to make plays. As far as Stroud being a leader. One sure hopes. It might get McCargo to get over that hump from potential to a pretty good player, as well as any other we bring in.
  12. lol. It's a thread from last year. Chris Henry is now with the titans. he was drafted in the 2nd rd
  13. What's Anthony Munoz doing these days? I mean if a pro bowl just about entering his prime LT isn't good enough for Faulk. Maybe a HOF LT will be the ticket...
  14. Craig Nall could give em both a run for their money. He used to back up Favre. Plenty of experience in viewing in Bretts fun out there.
  15. Agreed. Which is why I think Keith Rivers isn't such a dumb pick. Especially if given this is crowells contract year no? The Bills could conceivably, take Rivers, and let Crowell walk after next season. Then move Mitchell over to slb starting in 09. Rivers is probably the safest pick in the draft. While he might not turn out great, he sure as hell won't hurt you. He has a leg up, coming from usc, as he was always used in coverage. So there's no worries with that aspect. He's a good tackler. I wouldn't say he was USC'S "best lb", but he's by far the best lb in this draft.
  16. If we could get Kalimba Edwards, at a significantly reduced price, then the contract the Lions gave him. He would be a very solid addition. DE is a position I'd almost rather see upgraded thru the draft. Like corner I think it's a pretty solid year for pass rushers.
  17. His injury must be pretty bad. Kevin Jones when healthy is a beast. Could also be internal thing. There were rumors not that long ago. Jones and Roy Williams don't really get along. Could be an effort on the lions part to get Roy to stick around.
  18. A few quick things. One being Justin Harrell is consistently injured 2003 right leg surgery 2004 ankle injury 2006 ruptured left bicep tendon. He's got a good number of red flags. As far as drafting a rb in the 3rd its a weak rb draft and any legit rb pittman/irons guys who are capeable will probably be gone by the 3rd. Unless you're willing to take a chance of michael bush.
  19. Much Appreciated man. Especialy in the week leading to the draft I tend to get draft antsy always good to have another draft guide to read.
  20. Yup signing Josh Scobey would be showing our hand early. Especialy with him not even touching the ball once in 3 years. I'm sure he's being brought in to play some rb.
  21. Scobey sounds like Antonio Brown v2.
  22. Lucky for the people who aren't interested in trading for ricky williams we don't have a 5th rd pick
  23. Yeah he probably never would've grown up and still be if I may borrow a Vermeil refrence "Wearing the Diapers". I've seen a few interviews with LJ basicaly saying how much he hated kansas city because it doesn't appeal to young black men, and theres not a lot of his own kind around. I can only imagine how that would fly up in Buffalo.
  24. More like a decent short term option for 80/20 in carries ricky williams until we get a long term option at rb, but for now there's worse options like going into the season with anthony thomas as your starter.
