  1. What I meant really is. Odds are say we traded for Boldin he's gonna want a new contract. Evans is gonna want a new contract. While it would be great to have them both. You're talking about 100+ mil invested at the wr position? From a football standpoint, would that really be worth it? I don't think it would be necessary to keep Evans if you had Boldin, and say added additional pieces like a te, some low priced additional #2-3 wrs. Doesn't have to be an allstar. I think he's a guy who needs less then a Lee Evans does to be productive. I'd love to have both, but the odds are entirely too slim/coming at the expense of other high priority positions. It is rather silly speculation though. Boldin is a true 1a TO type compared to Evans Terry Glenn.
  2. Jared Allen is a great player without a doubt, but look at it this way. He has 2 dui convictions, and is 1 screwup away from being suspended for a year. Mess up after that we're talking long term suspension. With the 31 mil in guranteed money 74 mil total he just got from the vikings. The fact he refused to sign an extension with KC, made trading him pretty much a priority before they lost him for nothing. BTW for all the sacks he had this year. None of those sacks came in the 4th quarter of games. A friend of mine who's a die hard chiefs fan routinely complained about Allen for the past few years, and his penchant for dissapearing late in games. A very good pass rusher. The Risk for KC was just not worth it. As far as the draft being overvalued. Well considering they drafted allen and hali, kinda defeats your point. They have a lot of different avenues to go via the draft, and aren't forced to settle in on any position.
  3. They should've traded him after his 400 carry season instead of signing him to a big contract. His trade value will never be as high as it was then. There's also the whole thing with rb's who received 400 carries in a season tend to go downhill pretty quickly. They worked LJ like a dog, and it's showed. He just looks slow and hesitant now. Another classic example of why not to give rb's a big 2nd contract.
  4. Tremendous talent, exactaly what a #1 receiver should be. Probably would cost way too much in a trade. If it were possible without giving up a multitude of draft picks, I'd have no problem bringing in Boldin and letting evans walk, while drafting a te.
  5. The Falcons and or possibly the chiefs who sent a contingent of 50 personell people to the BC pro day
  6. Oh I agree with that. They'll have the cream of the crop to pick from regardless. I personally think 2-3 years from now gholston and dorsey will be the 2 best defensive players from this draft. I dont think they could go wrong with either one. You can never go wrong with players like either one regardless. They do need an end though. I'm not as high on Chris Long as others. Yeah he's a good player, and relentless. Gholston imho is far more versatile, and dorsey a better inside presence, then long is on the outside. Can Long really be a yearly double digit sack guy, who applies consistent pressure? I'm just not as sold on him.
  7. I think the raiders will be after Howies son Chris Long
  8. Not sure how I feel about this. On one hand having the jets give up a bunch of draft picks would be nice. On the other not sure if I'd like to see Ryan with gang green. http://www.rotoworld.com/content/playernews.aspx?sport=NFL The Rams have reportedly exchanged trade ideas with the Jets, who hold the No. 6 overall pick in the draft. New York may want to get in front of Atlanta to secure Matt Ryan. St. Louis is open for business and in great position to make a move. The Rams could also try to sign Glenn Dorsey before Saturday. With Jake Long out of the picture, ESPN's John Clayton says Dorsey is the top player on their board.
  9. Theres not a chance in hell chris long or gholston fall to the vikings in the 2nd rd
  10. Eh They found serviceable backs, but no mainstay guy. The only one was TD.

  12. Yes we need to address our offense. Let's be serious for a moment though we have 10 picks in the draft. We have needs on both side of the ball. As many people think we need a wr. Which we certinally do. There are those of us who view the defensive line in that same vain. Under neither circumstance, am I advocating the over drafting of either. However I really do believe, the fastest way to building a championship caliber teams, is by adressing your dline early and often. I'd much rather wreak havock, with a top notch dline, then have high quality wr's. Having an explosive offense is fun. There are just too many teams, who have pairs of high quality wideouts, at the expense of other positions. If we're going to go a certain route. I'd rather we emulate teams like the patriots/giants/eagles/chargers then teams like the lions/zona/cincy. This dline needed an offensive line esque makeover. Stroud is a nice start. Spencer Johnson if he can be good depth great. McCargo should continue to improve. The outside pass rush needs upgrading, and depth needs to be added. The Offense should very likely get weapons. Look at these wideouts and ask this. Is any wideout in this years draft, a better prospect then say Lee Evans, when the Bills took him over the likes of Tommie Harris/Wilfork in 04? Or even are these wideouts better then a good majority of defensive prospects that will be there?
  13. lol that's right let's just never post on message boards because "we don't know". Do I work for an nfl team no. Do I feel I have a good grasp on defensive concepts, and a good eye for talent levels. I feel I do. To make you feel bettter. I don't see anything in the game of Kelsay or Denney, that makes them starters. As compared to other teams around the league, they look like rotational players, with minimal quickness/poor closing burst. They hardly demand any attention. As far as the bills addressing this need. Yes I feel it's a dire need. The Bills haven't drafted a pass rusher, since Aaron Schobel. I worry they'll continue to ignore, the most important aspect of defensive football, because of the money tied up in the position. Sadly that aspect overrides the reality of needs.
  14. Of course we need dline help. We're one injury away from being worse then we were the last 2 seasons. We have a grand total of 1 pass rusher. Please save this stuff about freeing up Kelsay Denney. They're backup material at best. It should continue to be addressed early and often.
  15. Which would be nothing. Alexander was great once upon time. He's softer then then rose petals
