Chiefs POSSIBLY taking Glenn Dorsey
MartyBall4Buffalo replied to Oneonta Buffalo Fan's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
This decision made much easier, by dorsey being available. Figured it would Gholston, unless Dorsey was available. Dissapointing, cause this just means the jets or pats will end up with gholston. -
Is Shockey coming to Buffalo?
MartyBall4Buffalo replied to timmyk12's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
If its true I'd do that in a second. We still have a 4th rd conditional pick, a 3rd rd pick and our 1st. So yeah. IF it's true I'd be happy with it. I'm not holding my breath -
do we want Marcus Spears?

We only have 1 rushing end, but otherwise agree, we need more linemen then we currently have -

Pure speculation from Chris Brown regarding DE
MartyBall4Buffalo replied to Beerball's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I'm looking for more of a younger player, who can produce out of their rookie contract/be a starter in a year or 2. Rather then a guy who's around that 30 year mark. I can't knock the guys production, as it's pretty much what I'd love out of a de to start opposite Schobel. If it could be done without giving him a Kelsay type contract I'd be for it on a 3-4 year deal. -

He did produce, and should make more then minimum tender. However my problem, with a trade scenairo, is say we get him on a 2 year deal on the cheap, he produces then want's a new contract at 30, after moderate production. You probably won't see all that great production from him, in those post 30 years, and the bills are stuck with yet another bad contract at end. I don't really blame him. It's the age factor. I will say though 7 forced fumbles is pretty impressive. -

No thanks, can we get someone with a bit more upside, who isn't in their late 20's with only 1 year of production. A guy who's 28 who only has 1 year nfl experience wants a new contract. Pass -
Who does TBD want to see in Round 1?
MartyBall4Buffalo replied to deep2evans's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I went with harvey, and only voted once cause in all probablity ellis won't be there. If not Harvey then Rivers would be my 2nd choice. -
Doucet is a much more well rounded wr then reed. Remember Reed only had 2 years experience at wideout, as he was originally brought to LSU as a rb. Doucet is quicker off breaks, with more overal speed, as well as a terror after the catch. No he's not 6'5, but height isn't everything. Talent always trumps size regardless. Doucet has potential to be the #2 wr everyone is clamoring for. Without wasting a high pick on the flavor of the day. Drafting strictly for size is how you end up with The Reggie Williams,Mike Williams, Dwayne Jarrett, and Matt Jone's of the world.

The Vikings are simply not smart...

disagree. I like Kevin and Pat Williams, and Allen, but I wouldn't take that over the giants dline. They just have far too many pass rushers, especially when you throw kiwanuka into the mix. Too many ways you attack you inside/out. I'm not sure if I'd take them over the bears dline either. The pats also have a top notch dline. The vikings are sure to have a great dline. The best in the league? Subjective opinion. -

Jared Allen was in no way a finisher. Of his career 43 sacks only 17.5 came in the 2nd half of games 10 in the 3rd quarter 7.5 in the 4th. 25.5 came in the 1st half. 13 in the 1st quarter of games. 12.5 in the 2nd. Of his 13 career forced fumbles only 3 game in the 2nd half of games. He's an athletic talent without a doubt, and a good reason for the dropoff in numbers, could be cause KC, was consistently trailing in games, However the guy was generally a nonfactor for large stretches. 1 conviction away from a year suspension. Mess up after that, you're looking at a long term suspension, and who knows when he'd be allowed back into the league. A good player, hardly worth the coin making him the highest paid defensive player in the league. This is a win/win trade for KC, who is not a few players away, but needs to rebuild their entire roster. -
WR James Hardy might not get past KC at #17

I wouldn't be suprised to see the chiefs use their 2 1st rd picks on something like Vernon Gholston/Kentwan Balmer or Sedric Ellis/Quentin Groves. Or possibly an ot with the 17th pick and gholston or ellis with the 5th. Unless Matt Ryan falls to 5, then I can see them taking a qb. I highly doubt they'll be using any early picks on wr's. That just doesn't seem like Herm's MO. Only once during his time with the jets did they spend a 1st rd pick on a wr. I just can't see him going wideout. They need a whole new team, sans Dwayne Bowe/Derrick Johnson/Tamba Hali.
