  1. The rolling of the eyes was more for the prior statement of Brandon Jacobs being ranked so low, yet marion barber in the top 10. Grant showed some potential, but yardage wise he was also inconsistent. Gb is a team that lives and dies off yards after catch, a lot less then their running game. I just wouldnt place him in the top 20 yet.
  2. All well and good, still hard to take a list serious that ranks Marion Barber and portis in the top 10, and Brandon Jacobs at 17 behind a guy who's highest carry total in a season is "80". And Ryan Grant in the top 20
  3. Initiatives such as the Neighborhood Safety Zones have been accepted by federal courts as a legitimate law enforcement practice in keeping with the Constitution’s Fourth Amendment The constitutionality of the NSZ initiative has been reviewed by the D.C. Office of the Attorney General. The NSZ will be launched next week in the Trinidad area
  4. Don't worry the cops are just here for your safety. Quietly ignore the stomping on of freedom, and quietly move along, to the next checkpoint. As far as other cities where this is done. It probably happens, but not talked about. I have a feeling it'll be largely ignored and chalked up as acceptable, cause they're keeping others "safe".
  5. Going to jail without evidence proving he was driving the car? Without a trial? Nice to know
  6. There's not a qb in the league I feel more comfortable playing against then chad pennington. He's incredibly smart, and has a field presence, he lacks some serious physical skills mostly due to his shoulder injuries. However chad pennington has had a few good games vs the bills. but these career stats hardly suggest he's "tore us up". vs Buffalo 8 80.8 154 233 66.1 1540 192.5 6.6 6 7 sacked 17 times with 7 fumbles record vs buffalo 3-5 best game- 5 Oct 10 BUF W 16-14 91.8 31 42 304 7.2 41 1 1 - 2004 Now look at his numbers vs other divisional opponents vs Miami 9 96.4 131 211 62.1 1478 164.2 7.0 11 2 sacked 16 times with 2 fumbles record vs miami- 7-2 vs New England 9 78.2 176 281 62.6 1792 199.1 6.4 9 9 sacked 23 times with 4 fumbles record vs ne- 2-7 In closing. I just tend to get annoyed by this perception of what chad pennington is/isn't. He's a qb with mental accumen, who simply lacks the ability to win close games on the field, and the very last qb I'd want if my team had to move the ball 60+ yards in under 2 minutes, without all 3 timeouts. As long as the jets keep fooling themselves thinking he's their answer the better it will be for us. Kellen Clemens may in fact be worse then pennington, but we know what we're getting vs him. That my friend is something I'll take 2 times a year.
  7. Winning the superbowl is all nice and good. If I'm an NFL caliber qb, who's relatively young, with potential to grow. I'd much rather win the starting job, and make the pro bowl despite missing the post season. Knowing there's a chance my team could build around, my ability as a quarterback. I feel the other option is an acceptance mentality. Something you can't have as a pro level player.
  8. Right track. I think it has more to do with Evans,Peters, and Crowell. I think you can keep Evans and Peters. With the money coming in from the toronto deal, + the cap space we have, it's fully possible to keep Evans and Peters. The issue becomes Crowell. While some around here, are fans of his, he's not a guy you break bank for. I'd let Crowell walk, and sign the other 2 to lengthy extensions.
  9. This is actually a tricky question. If the question was "Who's more suited to cover outside receivers as opposed to in the slot" I'd say Mcgee. Greer is more suited to covering the slot receiver. He plays generally a bit more physical then mcgee, while not being as good of a tackler. He does use his hands better. He's tailor made to play inside against the wes welkers of the league. Mcgee, gives up a little more ground, and lets up an innordinate amount of catches in front of him, allowing easy 3rd and short situations, or 1st down conversions. To Mcgee's credit he's gotten better at not being beat deep, and his anticipation breaking up passes has improved. He lacks the physical aspect of the game to not get beat on quick slants, and hitches against larger, more physical wideouts who can simply swat him around. Neither is an upper echelon corner, but both have their place. All around I'd say Greer is the better cover man, with mcgee showing a better knack for making plays.
  10. Stuart Schweigert is basically John McGraw with a different name. He's not half the athlete his highschool scouting report makes him out to be. Seriously. His most impressive aspect is a highschool scouting report? I'm not gonna touch the high character/high motor nonsense. Remind me how Ko Simpson isn't either of those things? I have my theory, but I won't touch that issue. In his rookie season simpson basically matched schweigert's career stats, and would likely have passed them had Jason Webster not injured his own teammate. How about instead of running potentially good players out of town, to pick up hacks from other teams, we give the guy with very good potential a chance to develop?
  11. yeah, considering when the whole story first broke. I was indifferent towards it. The more I learn, the angrier I become. Not at the Patriots players, or their fans, for reeling in saga, and trying to justify it. Nope I'm mad at the league for not coming foward with the information. Goodell backtracking, and the slap on the wrist penalty imposed to Belichick.
  12. It was probably a few qb's througout the years. At one point may have been Brady. I wouldnt be suprised if that position of relaying was done by Damon Huard during his time there. Weis repeatedly talked about how important Huard was during his time there from 01-03
  13. so I pretty much highlighted everything that's spot on. With an exception on the drops, cause a lot of te's drop passes, so I was fair and cut them a break.
  14. Yes that too. Instead of say dedicating a draft pick or 2 into a player"s", that can be an eventual starter at the position, at a much cheaper price. They simply put themselves in a poor financial investment. Granted not one that should be ignored, because of said spending, but poor nonetheless.
  15. You mean like he did when we had Sam and Pat? I don't get how someone like you who realizes that football starts on the lines.Be it offensive or defensive, is a fan of Chris Kelsay. It's the equivalent of accepting Melvin Fowler as a good starting center.
  16. 1. Probably, cause most of the attention was on that Aaron schobel guy. I know it's simplistic, but the guy is not an edge rusher. He doesn't force throws. He's a hard working guy, with very little in the way of athletic skill. Doesn't hold up against the run. I wouldn't call 07 a down year. I'd call it what you can expect from Kelsay. Right in line with his 04/05 season. He doesn't force fumbles. He's not a pressure guy. He's not an edge rusher. He routinely gets killed on off end rushes. Despite his 6.5 sacks I wouldn't call that good. The guy has a terrible closing burst. Limited pass rushing moves, and is routinely late, and poor in pursuit. Ryan Denney is every bit the player chris kelsay is. Maybe even a bit better. Denney is better against the run, is stronger, and has a better first step then Kelsay. At a much cheaper price tag. I'd almost go as far to say. That if the situations were reversed. I wouldn't have as much of a problem with Ryan Denney making "Kelsay money", and Kelsay would be well worth "Ryan Denney" money. 2. Injuries might've played a factor in Odoms case. How do you explain that Justin Tuck, took the same kind of contract as Kelsay, and put up stats that Kelsay can't sniff, unless you were playing Madden, and put him thru training camp drills, and managed to get the 7 pt gold star? Some teams overvalue certain players. It happens. The guy is average, and doesn't really offer much of anything you'd expect in a starter. God forbid Schobel get's injured, we'd have zero pass rush, unless Chris Ellis is super rookie. Good teams around the league generally have more then one pass rusher. Sadly the Bills who have a chance to be a good team, simply don't have that.
  17. Without going back and looking over games. We were pretty terrible in coverage in the jags game. I seem to recall David Garrard routinely killing us on 3rd downs, while we stone walled Jones-Drew in the run game, and other then one long fred taylor run, he didn't do much either. We gave up a lot of yards in the bengals game, again while stone walling rudi johnson. The skins put a lot on us thru the air, the d held them to fgs though. The Jags game was eeirly similar, till the defense, eventually gave up, and the jags pulled away. In all we were 29th in the league in pass defense. Considering we were 7th in 06. That's just god awful terrible. Frankly attributed, to lack of pass rush/secondary starters, and depth. Good for the fans, that the idea of football is to compete in your division. I'd like to eventually say a little more then "Dude sorry you went to the pats game". Maybe that's just me.
  18. Of his 7 seasons Marcus Stroud has only played in less then 10 games once in his career. So I think that's a rather sharp rush to judgement. Other then that little sidenote, I wholeheartedly agree with the rest of your post. I don't understand the outage of lack of oline depth, when our dline is borderline terrible and has been for awhile. Lack of 2-3 quality starters, and nonexistent depth. Relying on 1. Stroud to stay healthy 2. McCargo to become more consistent and not take plays off 3. Kyle Williams to play above his actual talent level, and fit the scheme 4. Spencer Johnson to be more then quality depth. Lose Stroud, and we have the worst dline in the league. Not to mention, the lack of quality edge rushers. It could get ugly fast. I'm curious to see how it all turns out, while being miffed, at the trust placed on this unit by the front office and coaching staff. We needed an oline esque overhaul, and instead rented from The Used goods section.
  19. My comment was more broad based for his current whole body of work, which I wouldn't call "good". We all have our theories on why. He performed good against a very bad defense. Then followed it up with more inconsistency.
  20. You have really low standards of quarterback play
  21. Ware is every bit as good as merriman. Maybe better when you take into account, he's had less talent around him then merriman has. It's not that cut and dry as "he's on crack" Season Team G Solo Ast Total Sack YdsL Int Yds IntTD DefTD FFum PD Sfty Career 48 166 49 215 33.5 245 1 41 1 2 12 10 0- Demarcus Ware Season Team G Solo Ast Total Sack YdsL Int Yds IntTD DefTD FFum PD Sfty Career 42 146 42 188 39.5 235 1 10 0 0 8 18 0- Shawne Merriman Pretty damn compareable if I don't say so myself. Both are great players, and personally I would take him over Merriman. If that means I'm smoking crack. I'll now go continue to hit the pipe.
  22. Honestly have to see how aaron rodgers turns out before comparing not having a 1st rd pick. Some talented players taken though. Chris Spencer/Heath Miller/Marlin Jackson. sh-- even roddy white looks like an up and coming receiver. Mike Patterson is a nice player. What irks me is that I was a big Justin Tuck fan, and well I figured we could grab him in the 2nd rd, and instead we grab a good pr, with our 1st pick in that draft, who in the end turned out to be our only productive player from that draft. Donahoe
  23. Signed and sealed my friend. I am deeply sorry for your loss, even though I do not personally know you or your family, nor am I a parent myself, but I can't help but to feel that what you are doing is for a very honorable cause, and one that will hopefully go on to save the lives of other children. Keep up the fantastic work. God bless you and your family
