Emmit Smith at his best again...
MartyBall4Buffalo replied to Tsaikotic's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Lmao I think Emmit is great. I always get a kick out of the Monday Night Countdown when they're going to each person and Emmit has this coolaid smile like "Yeah they about to come to me and I'm gonna say some brilliant sh--" and then he opens his mouth. It never gets old -
Broncos - Asterisks'* game thread

Honestly I was torn between playoff seeding or division wins, but we havent played division games yet. So I'd go with the Broncos for tonight, but it ain't gonna happen at this point. -
Broncos - Asterisks'* game thread
MartyBall4Buffalo replied to stevewin's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
both these teams are awful. The Broncos are better off not even putting a defense on the field. It doesnt matter. Without help the pats would still only settle for fgs -
Man look as someone who was never a fan of JP to begin with. I harped on the 30 start plateau as being fair game to judge a quarterback. We just need to let it go. Edwards has proven beyond a doubt he's the man. Regardless of what JP does when he's no longer here. He's not a functioning retard. Deficiencies in his game? Without a doubt. It's not like the guy is walking around wearing a helmet all the time drooling on himself.Getting on a short bus with a bills logo to travel to and from games. Just be happy that Edwards is delivering. Not need to harp on losman at this point. It's old hat

I dont think its a huge loss for the pats. Maroney is not good to begin with. They're almost better off with Jordan/Morris and Faulk as a situational back. This may be the last we see of Maroney in a pats uni.

MISSION: 2-1 at worst for the next three games
MartyBall4Buffalo replied to Cornerville's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
As long as we beat ne. I dont care if we go 1-2 in the next 3. AS LONG AS WE BEAT NE. Im loving the bills this year. However I cant take it as seriously as I would like unless we beat NE. I can almost taste it, but it's not quite on the taste buds yet. -

Oh I agree, but you put even the best cornerback on the field with an anemic pass rush they'll struggle. This team gets no pressure from the ends, and very little from the interior. We're undermanned with 3 backup caliber players playing today. As nice of a player Kyle Williams is. He's still Kyle Williams -

Well that was a great game -
If you wanna go deep play madden. I wanna see sustained drives, that eat up clock, keep phillip rivers off the field, and put points on the scoreboard.

McGargo to Colts for a draft pick
MartyBall4Buffalo replied to Coach Tuesday's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
In fairness McCargo has been a more productive nfl player the Manny Lawson. It's safe to say they both rid the coattails of Mario Williams. Some teams make poor misjudgements. The Jets drafting of Dewayne Robertson. The Chiefs drafting of Ryan Simms. Talk about someone who rid the coattails of an elite dend. McCargo showed flashes. Let's just hope Stroud doesnt miss time. This defense will go from average to god awful with zero interior linemen. -
That's one of those things that we'll ponder for years about. It's gotten to the point I no longer believed the Bills would ever have a credible threat at te. Other then if they simply got lucky. I was at the point at hyping up Derek Schouman, and saying well if Royal can do such and such. The truth is I know Schouman sucks, and Royal will never be a guy you can rely on weekly. He's limited. The gonzalez trade rumors made me think. Hey it's possible they realize this too. I blame the chiefs for putting the interests of a player, over the future of their team. Nothing any of us can do about it. Know anything about Derek Fine?

I'm all for the value of draft picks, don't get me wrong. There comes a point in all teams progression, where they have instill a balance of potential serious upgrades vs the potential of rookies. I'd argue the Bills are very close to having to make those decisions. What kind of rookie te is going to have the immediate impact that Gonzalez would've had? Especially at a point in Trent Edwards career where it would've benefited him immensely. Rookie te's aren't going to come in and catch 99 passes for 1000 + yards. Be a legit threat to take pressure off evans, or be a good blocking te, great redzone threat, and give our current rookie wideout some development time to grow into his role. Most of our team was built via the draft. Fantastic. This move could've solved a lot of complaints heard over the past few years here though. It's great to hear it wasn't for lack of trying on the Bills part. I didn't even expect it to be possible. Still would've been a much needed shot in the arm.
-
As great as it would be for our team to have landed gonzalez. We're back to changing nothing. Still need a threat at te as we have none. Still need pass rushers as we still only have 1 and he's injured. Still need a center. Maybe a guard, defensive tackles, and an olb. For a team who's close but not quite there yet. Someone like gonzo would've helped put a major band aid on one of those wounds, and given us a legit threat to take pressure off evans for a change. While Hardy adapts to playing wideout in the pros.
-
I'm trying not to get ahead of myself. I expect the chiefs to be crazy stubborn, but man o man would that be a giant shot in the arm for our entire team and Trents progression
-
I really dont care who invented it or used it first. Football is a copycat game. One team does something that works for them, and other teams try to immitate that. They either tweak it and make it work with better personell, or it flops and they move onto something else. This happens at all levels of the sport, and anyone who's ever watched the game knows that.

Why oh why did we let go of Mark Campbell?
MartyBall4Buffalo replied to ofiba's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Nope can't say I saw it. All I'm looking for to be an honest is any kind of threat at the position. Especially short yardage redzone. A Safety outlet. Someone to split the seems. Bennett did rely on his athletic ability in college quite a bit, and yeah his lack of maturity could hurt him in the pros. Still would've been a potential upgrade to the Bills te situation. Sometimes teams need to take a risk on certain players. We did such with James Hardy. Royal is a nice blocker, who like he was in Washington is best served as a #2 te. Never saw derek fine play, and derek schouman seems to have butter hands. -

Rucker went in the early 4th to Cleveland who traded up for him. I remember being dissapointed about this, thinking it was only 3-4 more picks till rucker was ours. It was disheartening to see the Cowboys end up with Martellus Bennett, The Skins get Fred Davis, and the Browns get Martin Rucker. When all 3 teams already have elite receiving te's. Meanwhile the Bills end up with Derek Fine, and have to rely on Robert Royal and Derek Schouman. I give up on ever expecting the Bills to catch up with the NFL trend of receiving te's. -
The titans are going to struggle vs pressure defense. They have no wr threats, and rely strictly on their running game and defense. Their d will carry them to the postseason, but against better teams down the line they'll be in trouble.

Yeah if it wasn't for first half Warner the cards may very well have won last week. Hopefully we see more 1st half Warner, then 2nd half warner. Along those same lines. I think our defense overall is a more talented unit then the jets. Especially in the secondary. Even with Mcgee out.
