No they shouldn't, but Kelsay and Denney are just horrible. There needs to be small changes in scheme that compensate. The sad thing about it. Even blitzing we don't really have any playmakers to do that. Mitchell is the closest thing in our lb core to a playmaker. There's a bunch of problems, because of continuing to ignore the front 7 lack of talent.

You're not wrong. It's just the way we're 5-3 right now is quite a bit upsestting. The old saying is true. You wanna make the playoffs. Win your divisional games. Being 0-2 in the division puts us behind the 8 ball. Yeah it makes every game from here on out important. There's plenty of reasons right now, to not be filled with an abundance of confidence. Also some aspects that there's some hope. There's a lot to prove though. Not enough bad to jump off a bridge quite yet.

Who Says We Don't Miss Schobel?
MartyBall4Buffalo replied to The Big Cat's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I just hope it's finally addressed after this season. Chris Kelsay should never start another game. He is awful at everything. You wanna keep him as a backup fine. He does nothing that merit's starting. Ryan Denney can be a servicable backup on occasion. Watching them start is just attrociously bad. The dt rotation ughh. Can we just get some dline talent for a change? I mean seriously. They wanna run a defense who's whole premise is front 4 talent. How about getting ya know talent? -
Can we ever just stop someone for a change

yup a deep pass to coles. Greer had great coverage, and Ko Simpson got there late, on what might've been picked, had he not been slow to react in helping out.

what worries me about the
MartyBall4Buffalo replied to BeastMode54's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
exactly. The Jets are not a good running team. Despite Favre int's. They're living and dying via the passing game, and special teams. Their defense is up and down. They have some physical players in their secondary who take chances, but can also be burned. Their front 7 lives and dies with Kris Jenkins. Leon Washington is their only rb who worries me,cause of how versatile he is. The biggest threat comes from cotchery/coles. Especially if McGee isn't 100% and youboty still can't go. It could be a long day. -
Actually it's quite believable considering he's never been a pass rusher. I still don't understand what people see in the guy. He doesn't tackle well, he's not overly quick. His sense of containment is attrocious. The Bills have been getting killed for years on off tackle runs, and end arounds towards his side. He has no pass rush moves to make up for his lack of initial quickness or closing burst. He's a backup caliber player, who starts, because we A. Have no one better. Altough Denney may be a better short term option. B. He's paid a silly amount of money, for someone who's not good.

Sapp on Bills Bandwagon
MartyBall4Buffalo replied to BillsfaninFl's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
this is hard to keep track of. We hate when "Experts" disrespect our team, but we love/hate when they love/hate our teams? Is there some available list of who we can like, and who's a jackass? -
Because again the Bills went thru the tedious process of the Rooney Rule, and decided on Jauron. Giving him a contract. He's been settled into the head coaching job for 3 years. By Rule the Bills do not have to go thru the Rooney process again. Haslett was handed the job, as an on staffer. You can't interview in the middle of the season. Minority coaching candidates. The rams can't give him an extension past this year due to the rule. As I posted in the Hasslett thread. I don't agree with the context in this case. Rules are Rules.
-
Jauron was already our hc. Haslett was a defensive coordinator. That's the difference. He became an interim head coach, thus putting the rooney rule into effect. The Bills already went through the process, when they first hired Jauron

NFL voids Haslett's contract

Inner city education isn't very good, but yeah the context of his statements is pretty bad. Making it look like 100% of the black race involved in pro football, strictly comes from the ghetto is quite naive. Although I will say sadly the fact there aren't more black coaches comes from this old school train of thought. Kind of like an old boys club. It's sad that even someone as good as a Tony Dungy can't really change the perception. Ideally it would be fantastic if he had less to do about race, and more about credentials. One day maybe. In this case I don't like the Rooney Rule. Again it should be about credentials. I hate the whole context of giving an interview, when you want someone else, who can help your team. It shouldn't be about fluffing up others. Knowing full well they won't even get the job. I believe it was Denny Green who said something along the lines of. Why would someone interview for a job, they know they're not gonna get, just for the hell of it? -
THE BILLS ARE NOT GOING AWAY
MartyBall4Buffalo replied to berndogg's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
In fairness if we were to lose our next 2 games. You could pretty much pile us in the pretender catagory. The Bills have to win at least 2 of these divisonal games in this 3 game stretch. -
BILLS - PHINS NOT THE SAME ANYMORE

What you said. Also 24 here. I can fully understand the feelings of older bills fans who lived through the 0 for 70's, but it's time we caught up to the present. The Dolphins are a horrible team, who we've pretty much owned recently. The Jets are running on borrowed time. In a desperation move to boost revenue sales. That team is going nowhere. At least not with the Mangina coaching them The Pats are the echelon of who we will be measured up against now and in the future. Especially if Edwards continues to progress. Edwards vs Brady will be far more marketable from a league and fan perspective, then Edwards vs Pennington/Henne/John"OH NO!" Beck. It's great anytime you beat a divisional opponent. Especially when you can start to cement your status, by climbing the rung of the AFC elite. Make the playoffs that's the goal. I won't delude myself into thinking though that the dolphins are the team we must beat. It's been sickening the way we've been the Pats stepping stool. The Bills have gone into games against the Patriots knowing they have zero chance to come out with a win. The onfield results back this up. For the first time in years, we have a legit chance to catch up to them and offer a little pay back. There's not a game in the next 4 weeks that I wan't to see the Bills win more. That I will get more joy out of. Then to see Buffalo go into Foxboro, and curb stomp the Pats. -
Dolphins rule, Bills blow
MartyBall4Buffalo replied to FINSfan7's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
or 2 years ago when the dolphins with Culpepper were predicted to go to the bowl against Carolina. Culpepper played all of 4 games. One of which he was sacked by the Bills 7 times in a 16-6 loss, and fumbled twice. Nick Saban quit on their team, and that same year Joey harrington posted a 0 qb rating in a 21-0 loss to the Bills. Dick has owned the fish in his tenure, and we're 7-1 vs them since 04. Here's to that continuing. -

It goes back much further then that to ancient cave drawings of ufo's in their current form and men in "space suits". Incase anyone thinks I'm just pulling this out of my ass. Watch the History Channel or just google UFO Cave Drawings. I've never personally seen a UFO. I do think both that and the vast account of abductions are real. Too much bs gets clouded in reliable witnesses. It's far more naive, to believe nothing is out there in a universe this big. The ego of man. Also as far as the "Why would they come here and such and such". Why do humans go out and tag and microchip farm and wild animals? Same principle imho. They want to keep track of what's going on. If there are aliens visiting earth. IMHO they view us as nothing more then cows, who they are keeping track of. Why make themselves noticed to livestock?

Jauron admits Wildcat formation requires extra prep
MartyBall4Buffalo replied to SKOOBY's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I respect Dr. Z as much as the next guy. However you take these offenses. Like the single wing, The option or it's many variants. Due to the speed of nfl defenses would negate any advantage these offenses have as your base package. It works in Highschool and college, when you have a vastly uneven level of talent. It works as trick plays in the NFL. The dolphins playing the wildcat is just asking one of these weeks for pennington to get killed spread out wide. They're doing it to limit the weaknesses. They're overkilling the use, by using as their main way of scoring points. As we've seen the past few weeks. It's only going to go downhil. As a change of pace offense. It has potential to catch a team off guard. If you think you can build an offense around slow developing run plays in the nfl, where patrick cobbs may get behind your secondary. It's generally going to end in an ugly fashion. It worked for awhile. I expect in the coming weeks Miami will fall sharply, due to their lack of talent. An athletic Defense like the Ravens is just the beginning of how bad it will get for them. -

Ronnie Brown sounds like one of those peope who prefers exciting loses over winning games. As long as he has fun out there. It's a gimmick offense that you can't build a scheme around. It works every once in awhile. When it's your bread and butter. It'll only lead to trouble
