well it's exactly what happened last year. In one of the most disgusting games I've ever seen. They lost from the moment they took the field. It would be make my year if we beat ne. I can't stand losing to them anymore in the worst way. Until the bills prove it. That they can go out there. Brady or no brady, and man up against the pats. It's hard for me to even picture. It's a must win game. That's almost put up or shut up time. 0-3 in the division is a proverbial death sentence. I hope to god they prove me wrong. btw I like it here I don't feel like going anywhere.

well fwiw per chris brown http://blogs.buffalobills.com/ Patriots injury update By Chris Brown - Posted November 6th, 2008 It’s not looking good for Patriots RB LaMont Jordan (calf) to play this week. After participating on a limited basis Wednesday, he did not practice Thursday. RB Sammy Morris (knee) also has not practiced this week. BenJarvus Green-Ellis and Kevin Faulk are expected to shoulder the load in the running game for the Pats Sunday. CB Lewis Sanders (hamstring) also did not practice for a second straight day and is not expected to be available. Neither is CB Terrence Wheatley (wrist) who did not practice again on Thursday. Veteran CB Deltha O’Neal, who has not performed well, is expected to play LCB for the Pats Sunday. Limited in practice for a second day in a row were DT Vince Wilfork (toe), CB Ellis Hobbs (shoulder), WR Matthew Slater (ankle) and LB Eric Alexander (hamstring). After practicing on a limited basis Wednesday Randy Moss (foot) practiced fully on Thursday. Tags: Ellis Hobbs, LaMont Jordan, Randy Moss, Sammy Morris, Terrence Wheatley, Vince Wilfork

Im pretty sure jabari greer will be covering moss. We'll hear highschool stories about how greer joked with teammates about getting moss'ed. He'll score like 5 tds in 8 minutes and we'll lose 56-10, while the bills stand around joking with patriot players. While playing like they don't want to even be on the field. Until this team shows they even believe they can compete with the pats. It won't matter what you're afraid of, or not afraid of. Brady or no Brady. The Bills have been the pats B word.

About that last interception...
MartyBall4Buffalo replied to bizell's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
it was a poorly thrown ball, that just added to a poorly played game. From being on the field for the entire 1st quarter and not scoring any points. To dockery missing a block, and roscoe falling down that led to a pick 6. To Corey Mcintyres inability to pick up a blitzer leading to a sack/fumble. To holding the ball too long at times. To no run game. To the defense giving up an 8 minute drive at home, showing complete inability to get a 3 and out. To poor special teams play. It was an ugly all around effort. -
umm.... no?!?!

Jauron??? John Guy?? Modrak??!?! we have enough secondary players

5-3 is fine. the issue for me is the 0-2 divisional record. Lose thise week even 5-4 isn't the "end of the world". 0-3 in the division is basically slitting the wrists and then depserately trying to stop the bleeding. We're not out of it. There are issues that need to be figured out. Like the run game. As well as issues that won't be fixed/can't be fixed until the offseason i.e- the front 7 of the defense.

Seriously the best response to these "Jauron why can't we be the titans/steelers/giants threads" At least some people get it

Well, Sam Wyche has a job

heads we win tails we lose who's got a quarter? -
Hopefully that's the case. In the offseason hopefully they'll address it, and they can cut these bad contracts that are now coming back to bite them.

Schobel may miss rest of season
MartyBall4Buffalo replied to scribo's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
To an extent yeah, it falls on the scouting department. I thought McCargo would turn out better then he has. I was willing to overlook poor work ethic for the sake, of talent in flashes. Kyle Williams has been a better then advertised player, who's stuck in the wrong defensive system. He'd be great in more of a rotational role. A great #3 type dt. I'm holding out hope for ellis, as just a case of a guy slow to catch on. It happens to a lot of dends. sh-- even As much as I like Justin Tuck he didn't do anything till his 3rd year. So I won't harp on the guy as others have. Although I was hoping by now he'd at least, be on the field. I mean really. It doesn't speak well. When Copeland Bryan sees significant playing time. I know there's some money tied up in some of these players. I'd go after higher end prospects in the coming years. Keep doing it until you get it right. Is a more acceptable strategy of front 7 players. especially if we want those secondary players to look like they're worth a damn. -

Now that you mention it Malcolm Jenkins and Vontae Davis are quite the intriguing prospects -

easy the giants built around strahan as he aged. Strahan also managed to stay in tremendous shape, and even the speed he did lose over the years. Was negated by how physicaly dominate he was at times during his career. Schobel couldn't hold strahans jock. Strahan is the closest dend to bruce-reggie, but not quite at that level. They built around him him, and prepared for his eventual retirement, with osi, tuck, kiwanuka. Adding much needed versatility, and depth. Justin Tuck is going to be a great player in this league for many years. The guy is a nightmare matchup for ot's. His size/speed ratio is amazing. The guy simply goes all out, and is a money player. Fred Robbins is the guy in that dline rotation who gets no credit. He's been amazing since they brought him in in 04. 16.5 sacks the last 3 years. Throw in Jay alford as well. It's little coincidence. they can afford losing strahan and osi, when they're just loaded with talent. There are certain people here who have thrown up numbers for bills dends in the past. Mostly I believe out of nothing then noble attempts to support players on the team, comparing them to the giants. It doesn't fly. Schobel is the only legit starting de we have. Stroud is the only legit dt we have. We have no depth at either dt or defensive end. No one who causes any kind of matchup situation. No one to throw out a 4 dend pass rush line. Running exotic blitz schemes, and line stunts. Quite simply we don't, and haven't had dline talent since 1998-1999. It's not a coaching issue. It's a personell issue. -
you're getting desperate. Chris Kelsay sucks at rushing the passer, and is downright awful at containment. It's not a good idea at all. He has no initial quickness, and is stiff in movement, with poor closing speed. Kelsay playing wlb would be a nightmare, for the Bills.
-
Hope some dend with obvious talent slips under the radar, due to being underweight at the time of the draft. Ala Justin Tuck in 05. Take another chance on a college pass rusher who slips to a later rd. As bad as we need a pass rusher. I also wouldn't be against pulling what the jags did this past draft, in trading up for derrick harvey. Trade up to early rd 1, if selvie or johnson start slipping. In the meantime, hope the bleeding that is kelsay/denney can be contained somewhat.

we're scrapping the bottom of the barrel to be sure. Crowel/digorgio/bowen all out for the year. It's one thing if corto was a 2nd option. It's been a bad year for buffalo lb's.
-
Sorry for not clarifying what I meant. I didn't mean a 3-4 hybrid. Like a tweener olb type guy. I mean a guy who's either a 3-4 dend of maybe a 4-3 complimentary end/under tackle, because of his size. Orakpo would be a great fit. He has a perfect blend of power/speed to be a good one. I didnt mention him cause I figure he'll be gone as will george selvie, and michael johnson by the time we draft

Officially sick of Dick Jauron

2/3rds right The Bills have been good against the run. 12th in the league against the run at 3.8 ypc which is 10th. 7th overall in yards. Our pass defense numbers statistically are good. I think that's a bit misleading because of the first few weeks. 1. We can't run the football. I don't know why. It's disgusting to watch, a line this big be so piss poor 2. We have no pass rush. We have no playmaking defensive players. No closing speed, no initial quickness. Stroud has been an improvement. Williams is well Kyle Williams. Lose stroud and this defense would seriously collapse. Containment sucks. 3. The Lb's are all average players, with no playmaking ability. Our secondary imho is not bad, when healthy. The probelm resides in the front 7. The worlds best secondary can't cover, when you hardly get pressure. The linebackers are uber stiff in coverage, and not all that fluid in space. It's not a coaching issue. It's a lack of talent issue. I've always been of the belief you can only coach up defensive players so much. A lot of defensive play is based so much, on athleticism, and talent, and persuit, then it is on technique, and scheme. It's not like offense, where it's more schematic based. Offensive line play is a lot of technique, Where to place your hands, feet. Drop backs etc etc. Defensive line play in essence is simple. Jam up the oline, or kill the guy with the ball. Why you'll see the better defenses in the league, are teams where the front 7 are made up of higher ranked prospects. While good offensive lines around the league, can be a mix and match of mid-late rd picks. -
Tyson jackson is a 3-4, maybe a complimentary 4-3 kind of end. We need pass rushers, not complimentary players. The thing I worry about with a compliment type d-end is exactly the problem we have now. We have no play making ends, in the event schobel goes down. I think Greg Hardy or Middleton would be a better fit. Personally I'd like to get suggs in free agency, cut our losses with denney and kelsay, and draft another dt a wlb a center and te.

Wish we could get a coach like....
MartyBall4Buffalo replied to BBills14's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Personally I prefer him on Fox TV show HOUSE, over coaching the steelers. -
I wont say a damn thing about anyone who plays te for the bills. The Bills haven't had a good te for so damn long. Anyone who does marginaly ok, looks like the next best thing. See how he finishes out the season. Still would love Winslow though after this year.
