  1. Why are you bringing up stuff like "He's 1/2 mexican or talks like a black guy" and throwing that at me? I never once said those things. Nor do I give a sh--. So please save that. The guy blew his opportunity at the end of 06-07. In 3 of his last 5 games in 06 he struggled pretty bad against the chargers/titans/ravens then carried that over into 07 throughout training camp-preseason and into the first few weeks. Terrible @ home against denver then pitt. Before being injured in the ne game. Then when he was given back the job, and an opportunity to stamp his name on the job. He laid 3 more consecutive eggs against the dolphins/pats/jags. We all know there's talent there. His problem has been a serious lack of consistency, as well as seeing the whole field. He doesn't use the middle of the field well at all, and takes far too many sacks. Why not give JP one last opportunity. Cause odds are pretty good he won't get it done. If this was a team that had a strong running game, with Edwards struggling on his own accord. I'd sorta see the point, and may question it myself. This however is a team with no running game, trying to find it's idenity. You don't make the same mistake the bills have made in the past. You stick with Edwards, and let him sink or swim on his own.
  2. other then the oline the situations are about the same. That's pretty questionable, with the apparant lack of a center, and rg. The horrible play of the interior in general. Jp Switched coaches. Edwards switched coordinators. Yes getting a whole new coaching staff is a complete restart from just switching coordinators. The talent level on offense is vastly the same. Evans, Josh Reed, roscoe parrish. The te situtation is not better at all. I dont know where you got that one from. Not much else. The difference from mcgahee-lynch production wise is almost nill. I never once called Edwards "god",or anything close. Never said JP "Blows" either . A poor mans Jake Plummer yes. "Blows" that's stretching it.
  3. Yes he could, and you dont hear his name cause he's generally being pushed off the screen, or on his back. He's played quite a bit. He isn't doing much of anything.
  4. first 18 games Losman vs Edwards first "19" Losman- 452 attempts 251 completions 2838 yards 158ypg 55% completion pct at 6.3 ypa 15 tds 14 ints sacked 56 times 16 fumbles 8 lost. Sacked once every 8 pass attempts Just using edwards career stats here, cause it seems kind of pointless to subtract 3 pass atempts in the ariozna game before he got injured Edwards- 514 attempts 315 completions 3475 yards 183ypg 61.3% completion pct at 6.8ypa 14 tds 15 ints sacked 32 times 9 fumbles 4 lost. Sacked once every 16 pass attempts. Not much difference stat wise. Except the "weaker armed" Edwards has more passing yards more ypg, at a higher ypa avg then mr. rocket arm, and gets sacked significantly less. Again I'm not excusing the last few games. Losing 3 divisional games in a row is killer. I have confidence he'll pick up his game. For a 3rd rd pick he's quite ahead of the curve. There's a lot of areas this team has to improve. I'm waiting another season before saying quarterback is one of them.
  5. Except we weren't exactly scoring points during Losman's tenure either. We're currently 19th in the league in pts. Which is higher then we've been since 2004 when we were 7th. Our 24th in total yards is also higher then we've been since 2002 when we were 11th. We've been futile on offense for a very long time. Let's not act like Losman was lighting up scoreboards, or stat sheets though. When reality kicks that notion in the ass.
  6. Hardy can have his place. Even if he turns out to be strictly a redzone area player. Considering we've struggled there forever. Steve Johnson in limited opportunities has looked good. Raw, but there's potential there. The hope I had for Sam Aiken to catch on a receiver, now resides with Johnson. I still can't believe sam aiken converted a key 3rd down attempt in the game the other day.
  7. Fair enough. All I was trying to get across, was the stat's issue. I'm not gonna be one to excuse Edward's poor play as of late. Especially in divisional games. The turnovers are bad. He's jittery, and looks shell shocked. It's not post concussion syndrome/insert excuse here. The guy is rattled, and gets hit a lot. Right now it's far more then just the quarterback. Until they get this pathetic run game fixed. or at least try to make a commitment to it, it won't matter who's back there. You don't win november/dec football and especially january football without an ability to run the ball.
  8. Sorry I said never threw more then 20 tds in a season. I was off by 1. I forgot he threw 23 with the redskins. Otherwise I assume you're gonna agree that stat's are not indictive of overall team play. That a bunch of numbers does not a good team make. Which is really the only thing that matters. More so then "your guy being in there"?
  9. You're entitled to your opinion man. That's fine. It's over though. Losman isn't getting another shot. This team still has a lot of the same problems it's had during Losman's tenure. I've been more impressed with Edwards then I ever was with Losman. If I'm wrong I'm willing to bite the bullet on that after next year. I'm not in favor of recyling quarterbacks yet again. It solves nothing. Losman btw reminds me a lot more of Jake Plummer then Eli. I'm not gonna argue this. It's amazing how 3 weeks quickly changes everyones opinion. Btw you want stat comparisons. Edwards has a better completion pct, and a higher yards per attempt then Eli this year. The difference. The giants can run the damn ball, better then anyone in the league. The bills run better then 3 other teams
  10. Studesville probably isn't. I've wondered about this guy for awhile Since we hired him. I was mildly aware of him during his tenure with the NY Giants. Where all I remember is Tiki Barber fumbled the ball. A lot a real lot. Where Ron Dayne never could be a spell back, and their run game kinda struggled. Mcgahee/Henry/Lynch. Studesville may need to go. That's not really in Jauron's approach though. Either the talent will have to get better, or this coaching staff will flame out.
  11. Wins are blank statements when discussing football? Using stats in a sport that revolves around team concept. Little minute aspects is as blank as it gets. You know who never threw for a lot of tds? Steve McNair he was a pretty damn good quarterback. Kerry Collins hasn't thrown for many tds. The titans are 9-0. Matt Cassel not many td's. Patriots are 6-3. Football is not baseball. You can't judge a position strictly on fancy fanboy numbers. You have to take the whole game into account. Mark Brunell would you say once upon a time he was a good qb? Guy never threw for more then 20 tds in a season. I can play the stat game as well as anyone. It would be a waste of time to go thru the 06 season game by game, and point out Losman did not play as well as JP fans thought he did. I dont know if Edwards is the answer. I'm waiting until the end of next season before debating that. I'm pretty confident in saying JP Losman is not, never has been. Never will be.
  12. So in context of football related discussions. Winning and losing games is irrelevant. In the case that it goes against the guys rehashed to death argument? Got ya
  13. Let's play the stats to fit your stance game. No 30 yards per game shouldn't be difficult to replace. Let's look at the real numbers. Btw reed avg's 41.1 ypg this year. His highest total in his bills career. Now.. In 7 games reed has 26 catches for 288 yards. Over a 16 game season he's looking at roughly around 60 catches for a little over 650 yards at around 11ypc. 17 of his 26 receptions have gone for 1st downs. Pretty respectable numbers for a #2 wideout. Throw in his ability as a blocker, and a safety valve option for edwards. His 11.1 ypc are about 2 more yards then roscoe parrish. His 3.6 yac are more then parrish. James Hardy meanwhile is a complete non factor. In context for the Bills, it is indeed tough to overcome.
  14. at age 25 trent edwards has a over .500 winning pct. At age 27 JP Losman does not. What is wrong here?
  15. we have em. they're on our dline
  16. That I'll agree with. However I'd exchange our bunch of classy current nice guy group. For some guys with some attitude right now. This is not a fun group of players to watch.
  17. You're right I dont understand. I never got enjoyment out of going. "Well gee they may have lost 56-10, and looked completely unprepared. But gosh golly, they looked like they were a bunch of nice guys, out there having fun". It's one thing for your friends/family to be respectful, and show class in social gatherings. When I'm watching sports. I'd rather watch a bunch of hard assed. We know we're gonna knock your sh-- around athletes. Who win anyway possible, the majority of the time. To each their own though
  18. I also played defensive end in highschool. My Claims to fame- I have played against some of the best athletes new jersey has produced. Including the likes of Greg Olsen and Chris Simms, and brian cushing. I had a sack against Simms. I could've been somebody
  19. I think you're a good poster here, but can you point out where you see this. The guy makes no plays. I'm not even talking about coming up with sacks. I'm talking overall game. I constantly see runs to his direction end up in positive yardage, with kelsay taking a spin move inside to be stood by a guard, or a wide angle pass rush, that he gets knocked out by a rb or simply run out by a tackle. Denney at least has shown an ability to bat down passes. Stroud meanwhile is the recipient of double teams. Kelsay looks like he couldn't lose his shadow in the shade.
  20. Logic doesn't strike the fancy's of chicken littles. It's pointless to even argue. Even if Edwards isn't the guy. It's fairly certain Losman will never be. Not even 20 games into Edwards career, and people are willing to throw his career under the bus. I guess people are so accustomed to changing systems, coaches, qb's and personell so much. That it's just in their nature. Like our team will rally around Losman, or a 3rd string scrub. Lynch will become brandon jacobs overnight. Parrish will become more like desean jackson, and the bills will go on some fairytale run, with "Their" guy. Give it up Losman fanboys. The dream is dead. I guess joining us in reality is a lot to ask
  21. You're not fishing at all. It's nothing some of us haven't said before. It should still be done though. There comes a point, when you just have to admit mistakes. Kelsay should've never been re-signed to begin with. He's did nothing to warrant the contract then, and even less since. He doesn't even have this self proclaimed "high motor" He gives garbage effort. Has no quickness. Rarely wins individual matchups, which he sees the majority of the time. He puts no fear into any qb. No threat off the edge. His containment is even more attrocious. Guranteed 6-7 yard gain running end arounds toss sweeps screens or stretch runs to kelsays side 8 out of 10 times. The captian moniker doesn't mean much. Angelo Crowell was a "captain" the bills had no problem ir'ing him effectively ending his career with the bills. Hopefully we move on, and finally address the glaring flashing red signal of dire need.
  22. Aaron schobel is good, but it speaks volumes to the overall craptasticness of the group, when one guy makes that big of a difference. of course people wanted to believe for years that denney/kelsay duo was just as good as having a starting lde, or that individually one of them was starting caliber. Minus stroud they all pretty much suck.
