The Bills will come out, and have fun out there with their, masters the NE Patsies. Lots of joy and laughter, as NE steamrolls the Bills yet again. 50-14

So when can we cut Kelsay?
MartyBall4Buffalo replied to Buffalo Mike1's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Faine isn't even with the browns anymore. Spencer is injury prone, and plays guard. None of them are over 310lbs. Just cause you're big doesn't mean you'll be a dominant offensive lineman. Do we need a center of course. However not many around the league are monsters and even less where drafted in the 1st rd. Center is a need. I'll argue to death that defensive end and olb and defensive tackle are bigger needs at this time. Shaun O'Hara starting c NYG- Undrafted-6-3 Weight: 303 Dan Koppen NE- 5th rd- 6-2 Weight: 296 Kevin Mawae- 2nd rd- 6'4 289 Ryan Kalil- 2nd rd 6'2 295 Jeff Saturday- undrafted 6'2 295 Olin Kreutz- 3rd rd 6'2 292 The biggest center in the league I believe is Jamaal Jackson at 6'4 330. However he was undrafted The 1st rd and massive body weight should under no uncertain circumstances be the be all end all of their search for a center. -

I don't think the Bills can smoke and mirrors their way to not informing the rest of the league we need a pass rushing defensive end. Maybe more then 1. It will come as zero shock. The only shock possible, would be to ignore the position, and keep it status quo. Oh Those tricky Bills will really pull a fast one with that. -
Poz just looks slow out on the field, and people think he'll be better at wlb, where's he's out in space covering backs and tight ends.

I've seen them play. Obviously I dont see every game they play, nor do I claim to be an expert on either of them. However I'm pretty sure I've seen them play as much as people who clamor for guys like Alex Mack. In fairness I don't think Curry is quite the prospect Mike Mayock would lead one to believe. I don't see him as the best lb available. I don't think he's the prospect Jarrod Mayo was last year, and for the hype he's getting, he's not half the college player AJ Hawk was. However he's the best olb available in this class. We could just as easily pick up Freeman from Ohio St in the 2nd rd. He fills a need and is a good player.

Two Bills named as Pro Bowl alternates...
MartyBall4Buffalo replied to Buftex's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
That was the general line and Stroud has been double teamed. Our defensive ends are just awful. They're backup caliber players, one of whom commited highway robbery against the Bills with his salary. Congrats to Stroud and Lynch. Well deserved. Maybe next year we can feed Lynch the ball a bit more, while surrounding Stroud with actual talent. -
Favre's Arm May Be Hurting
MartyBall4Buffalo replied to buckeyemike's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
And more then likely it backfired. Down the stretch Favre has thrown 1 td to 6 ints, and has been awful. They went and tried to buy a championship run, and will end up missing the playoffs baring a miracle. They're 26 million over the cap after this year, and Favre will run his routine of "retiring/unretiring". That is no rosy situation the jets are in. Yes they improved on their record from last year, for the sake of what. Favre isn't gonna get better, neither is thomas jones. They're in for a house cleaning. -
Favre's Arm May Be Hurting
MartyBall4Buffalo replied to buckeyemike's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
The jets do a lot of stupid things. Almost as many stupid things as the bills do. The one thing the jets won't do is sign JP Losman. The guy will never be a starter. The Jets will probably either keep Favre around one more year (assuming he doesn't retire) while grooming Brett Ratliff, or they will draft a qb in the early rounds. I personally hope Favre stays around for another year or 2. The guy is toast, and has nothing left on his arm. With his play down the stretch he has almost singlehandidly destroyed the jets season. Money well spent gang green. Money well spent. -

The Best was Joe Beningo on Favre to paraphraze it was something like "Get out of here. LEAVE!!! YOU'RE DONE! Go back to Mississippi or something, and go fishing with Mike Holmgren". He later went on to basically apologize to Herm Edwards, stating that Herm is a better coach then The ManGenius. -
Matt Leinart is worse than JP Losman

Roethlisberger wears gloves. Brady wears gloves. Just sayin -
HA HA the Fins are a joke!
MartyBall4Buffalo replied to Helmet_hair's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
The Dolphins will eventually be a better team then the jets. The jets will fall off as soon as Favre leaves. Miami will only likely improve. However they aren't making the playoffs this year. Neither is NE. Ne will probably finish 11-5 and miss out on a wc to the Ravens. It's gang greens division for now. Next year when Brady's back, NE will likely reclaim the top spot. Hopefully the Bills don't remain spinning their wheels -
According to our friend Mort...
MartyBall4Buffalo replied to The Dean's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
He's played in most of the games this year save the seattle/wash/zona/philly/dallas. They're 3-2 without him. As far as Shockey goes. Make no mistake about it. Manning "Grew up" throwing to Shockey. He was the giants leading receiver before he went down to injury last year. He was an influential part of Eli's growth as a qb. Along the way though the giants learned to adjust, becoming a run based power offense who just wore teams down. Like most good coordinators Gilbride needed Coughlin. He needed him, a lot like Martz needed Dick Vermeil and potentially singletary, to keep him in line, from doing really stupid sh--. Gilbride still has his moments, and Giants fan's don't trust him all that much. This is a weird time for Gilbride to be listed as a hc candidate. Considering the giants are riding a 2 game losing streak, where they've scored all of 1 td offensively in the last 2 weeks. -
I always hear the expression "boring offense" when talking to fans about teams that generally suck. The Bills imho have a very boring defense. They don't give up a lot of points. They also don't do well anything. It's kinda like watching someone kick a rock around for awhile. Eventually they're either gonna get bored, or kick the rock too far and give up. The Bills doesn't rush the passer. They give up too many long time consuming drives. They don't force turnovers, and 3 and outs in crucial moments are pretty rare. They're not fast or particularly athletic in any one area. It's like watching a rock. Occasionaly the rock may stub your toe, and you'll trip up, but most of the time the failure of the rock goes unnoticed in the bigger picture. Anyone who thinks we can win in the postseason with this defense the way it is, they are just fooling themselves.

I guess it has to do with old time prevailing feelings of growing up watching the fins beat the bills for an entire decade. The Patriots undoubtedly will be viewed in the same light along the way. However I'd almost prefer that the patriots win it. I'd love nothing more then for the Bills to be the team that knocks them off. If the pats don't win as long as it's not the jets I have no real feelings about it. So yeah I agree with you there.

Brian Orakpo
MartyBall4Buffalo replied to Kettle Creek Football's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Orakpo is a physical beast, and possibly the best de in this class. He doesn't beat you with pure speed, but has very good technique and strength, and a good closing burst. If you're looking for an nfl comparison. Michael Strahan may be more in line. Personally I'm hoping for Michael Johnson, Greg Hardy, or George Selvie. With several 1st rd caliber, but no clear cut top dend. There's no excuse not to get someone out of the draft. There is no "next bruce smith". The closest player"s" who can have that kind of impact. When he feels like it Julius Peppers. Mario Williams if he keeps it up has all world potential. As does the Giants Justin Tuck. I'll settle for the Demarcus Ware type Michael Johnson in this draft. -
I understand the desire for someone like haynesworth but don't be so quick to not look in other directions like the draft and none other then Man Mountain Cody. I believe it's only his first year of division one but the guy has imho Ted Washington type potential http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fUE3Ys-qf6M http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BMy2x7yY2q8...feature=related also some offensive goalline work

If you step away from the fact we're bills fans, and realize well it's JP Losman. It was rather hillarious. It's at that point where you know he was gonna have one monumental !@#$up. The Afc version of Rex Grossman

ITS THE OFFENSE STUPID!!!
MartyBall4Buffalo replied to Over 29 years of fanhood's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I agree the offense needs to be improved. Their identity should be smashmouth football. Make no mistake about it. This defense is not "good". It's a product of playing some pretty poor teams along the way. Guranteed if we played a brady led patriots the colts, or any offense worth a damn they would seriously be exposed. A minor blessing to the failure of this season may be everyones awakening to just how bad the front 7 of this defense is. The alarming lack of depth, or any kind of playmaker. Look at legit top tier defenses. The Ravens,Steelers,Titans,Giants,Panthers,Vikings, Cowboys to an extent lately, The Eagles. Our defense may have been good enough with a better offensive approach to reach the postseason. However they are not on the level of the teams that typically win in the post season. They would be exposed for the sieves they truly are. -
Jauron....second thoughts.
MartyBall4Buffalo replied to TC in St. Louis's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I could be wrong, but I remember after that seaon LeBeau wanted more control over the defense, with the bills unwilling to accommodate him. It wasnt so much choosing Pitt over Buffalo, but the Bills not offering him a defensive coordinator job that the steelers did.
