  1. Huh? He basically built the patriots Richard Seymour, Vince Wilfork,Ty Warren, Logan Mankins, Matt Light,Nick Kaczur,Dan Koppen, Jarvis Green, Jerod Mayo, Asante Samuel. That's just scratching the surface of the players the pats have brought in over pioli's tenure. Plus After 20 years of Carl Peterson it's a massive upgrade.
  2. Jenkins this year, Taylor Mays next year, get by with Whitner. The secondary would be set, until 2-3 years when one of them leaves in free agency.
  3. My hat is tossed into Philly's corner. It helps that I enjoy watching them play, and they have the exact kind of defense I would love for the Bills to play. As well as the dt I wanted the Bills to draft in the 06 draft. Play man to man coverage with an attacking defense, who doesn't play soft, but swarms to the ball and tries to knock your head off. All without what one would consider top tier talent. Some underrated players, but no major star. Outside save Samuel, and Dawkins with name recognition.
  4. lol well if Malcolm Jenkins makes it to our pick, he's the best corner available. Then we'd have our corner duo for the next 5-6 years in McKelvin/Jenkins P.S: If Dick Jauron or any of the Bills front office reads this board, don't even consider it
  5. Never really saw him play. I used to hear about himwhen they talked about NJ Highschool Sports when he was at Randolph High. If he compares well to any oher mid-late rd qb prospect why not?
  6. Yes having someone offenses fear throwing towards. Where wr's will tense up and alligator arm passes, and a general intimdator is the goal of defense. If we can get one those bravo on the Bills. If you enjoy seeing gentlemany like 7 yard receptions allowed on 3rd and 6, or receivers having open room to run vs our defense, but hey they have proper manners. Then good for you I agree with Berndog to an extent, but please let's not act like dawkins isn't good on his own merit. The eagles have so much trust in their secondary they leave their corners on an island. They don't play a zone coverage, so dawkins won't be back with umbrella coverage. It's why you'll often see him chasing a wr instead of over the top. They play a 4-6 hybrid. Dawkins is better then Simpson or Whitner even at his age. Yes Jim Johnson gets the most out of him, and with Fewells scheme, he may be a bit of a liability in coverage. So are a lot of safeties around the nfl. What Dawkins would bring to this team in leadership, ability to play in the box, a blitzer off the edge, and a mentor to The db's can't be understated.
  7. You realize 3 of the 4 teams left have the top 3 statistically ranked defenses? Pitt #1 d. Baltimore #2 and Philly # 3. There's nothing average about the defenses of these teams. It stands to reason the best way to build a winning team is to build your defense and get by with an average offense predicated on a strong running game, and game management.
  8. Do Boldin and Fitzgerald come with him cause we sure as hell don't have receivers anywhere near that good?
  9. We're the pats bitches
  10. agreed. It just so happens 2 of the 3 white guys we have suck. We need talented players period. If we could get a white dude like Jared Allen fantastic. Either way Kelsay remains awful. White or not the guy sucks
  11. Brian Dawkins is a leader period. He's the face of the eagles defense, with a desire to win games. It's football people get hit. Can't stomach it watch baseball. He would be a terrific signing for the Bills.
  12. Close hard hitting divisional battle. Westbrook does his damage to the giants. Philly sells out on the run, with their secondary in man to man coverage vs the giants wr's, forcing eli into mistakes because of lack of running game. Giants d manages to keep them in the game but they lose Eagles-17 Football Giants- 14
  13. If Philly beats the giants the NFC Championship is in Arizona, but agree about the weather issue in NJ.
  14. I'm going with Philly/Baltimore sb
  15. He did a great job of killing his teammate. Eh I guess when you can't get to the other team, might as well hit somebody.
  16. yeah rodgers cromatie is the reason the cards in the nfc playoffs, and mckelvin is the reason we're home
  17. Yeah the only st's coach I would put in April's league is Mike Westhoff from the jets. If Jauron stumbles out of the gate, I'd like April to get a shot, that way we'd at least have an idea what he'd be like as a hc, and if it fails then look elsewhere.
  18. Kerry Collins- 16 80.2 242 415 58.3 2676 167.3 6.4 12 7- sacked 8 times fumbled 5 25 rushes for 49 yards Trent Edwards- 14 85.4 245 374 65.5 2699 192.8 7.2 11 10 - sacked 23 times 9 fumbles 36 rushes 117 yards 3 tds Collins as a mentor/backup for Edwards would be great move. As a starter for THE BILLS no thanks, at this point I'd prefer the Bills build a team around Edwards, not supplant him with a guy who was argubaly statistically worse for a much stronger team.
  19. Most college qb's would be accurate if they played behind guys like Loadholt and Duke Robinson, had demarco murray, and chris brown in the backfield and were throwing to Juaquin Iglesiasm, and Jermaine Gresham. As for Tebow fantastic college player, he's a situational/project player in the pro's.
  20. Bradford was terrible. He was arching 10 yard passes the way a nfl qb puts an arch on a deep post. The guy has no arm, and lives off the ability of his skill players in college. The only sure fire 1st rd qb's are Matt Stafford and Mark Sanchez. The only knock on Sanchez is he only has 1 year of starting experience. His physical skills are pretty damn good though. You can keep these spread option qb's. It doesn't work at the pro level. People like Bradford,Tebow, Graham Harrell, Colt McCoy, Chase Daniel, are long term projects at best. Their upside short term is that of The Chiefs Tyler Thigpen. Use a gimmick offense like the chiefs did with the pistol, and rarely if ever take snaps under center. It's funny when people say a team like KC won't draft a qb cause Tyler Thigpen played good. The guy isn't a long term answer at qb, and struggled mightly down the stretch. You can't consistently play a gimmick system and be good in the pros. It's fine for college, where these qb's can take advantage of inferior talent, and less complicated offenses to maximize their teams ability, but as pros it's an even playing field where defensive lineman will be just as fast as a guy like Tebow. The offense won't fly.
  21. SD and Baltimore in the "upsets". Rivers does as he's done all season and carries the chargers on his back. I look for the Ravens d to carry them yet again.
  22. The veteran receiver we should make a push for if the Bills want a veteran wideout is Torry Holt, assuming he gets his release from the rams.
  23. This article I can actually buy. Come out early and often next year with the run game. This is what we should build around anyway. I could care less about 300 yard passing games. Scrap the constant shotgun sh--, and go with a run heavy offense. It at least makes sense, compared to any positive light of the cast of High Motor ballerinas.
  24. Agreed on that. Peppers will undoubtedly be tagged, and Suggs if he did leave the price tag would be overkill. Because of this Berry's price range will probably be more then he's worth. He'll also be 34 years old next season. Depending on what he's asking for we could do worse. It really is an underwhelming group of free agents on the dline. The one guy I am intrigued by is former sehawks dt Marcus Tubbs. He's been injured the past few years. Most recently having acl surgery, failed his physical and his contract was terminated. If he can bounce back from that, the guy is a heck of a talent at dt. A de prospect is Victor Adeyanju from the Rams. He's a restricted free agent this year, and while his stats don't jump out at you, he was pushing Leonard Little for playing time this year, and is expected if he comes back to start for STL. He had 47 tackles 40 solo and 2 sacks on the year. It's too bad someone like Jonathan Babineaux re-upped with ATL, he would've been a nice player to have, and push Kyle Williams to the bench. Sadly I dunno how much we could expect to improve the front 7 via free agency. Unless we pick up a lb like Dansby, which would just be a start. Albeit a very good start. There are some secondary players that are worth considering. Especially for safety help. While I would love to have Brian Dawkins on the Bills, he's to Philly what Ray Lewis is to Baltimore. Will Allen the one in tampa would be a nice pickup to compete for the starting job. Mike Brown will probably be a popular name. However, this is the first year he's managed to play the whole seasons since 03. I'd be skeptical about going after him. Although when healthy he's a good player. The guy I'd like to get assuming the jets don't re-sign him Abram Elam. He's criticized a lot by Jets fans, and he does have his limitations, but he's turning into a pretty quality player, and he's relatively young at 27 years old. They tried to replace him by switching Kerry Rhodes to FS and starting Eric Smith at SS. Elam eventually found his way back into a starting role. IMHO he's a great option to look into. All in all we probably won't see the marquee players hit free agency per usual, and the ones that are available, won't make anyone sleep easier. The strongest players in free agency this year are at Linebacker, and that may be the way to go. Depending what the Bills want to do with Poz. Keep him at the mike, or move him to wlb. I'm not sure he has the range to play weakside, but if that's what they wanna do, there would be no better signing then Dansby, or Bart Scott.
