Well it was a happy banana "It was a yellow, plush, child's toy banana," Petrone said. "It had a smiley face on it." -
Don't you find it funny
MartyBall4Buffalo replied to DIEHARD BILLSFAN's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
This might have something to do with why prioleau was snatched up so fast. Redskins | Family Ties - from www.KFFL.com Thu, 17 Mar 2005 18:55:35 -0800 Gary Fitzgerald, of Redskins.com, reports recently signed Washington Redskins S Pierson Prioleau is a second cousin of free agent DL Courtney Brown (Browns). The Redskins have been courting Brown since his release from the Cleveland Browns. Maybe in some weird family courting ritual of signing free agents. This is danny snyder we're talking about here -
WGR: Bennie Anderson to visit today
MartyBall4Buffalo replied to SonOfWade's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Bennie Anderson would be a great fit for our offense. A Huge road grader to put at lg. The fact that he blocked for a 2000 yard rusher is enough convincing for me. He beats the hell out of what we got on our roster right now. Plus I think the interior of the line is more important to the success of ball control smash mouth offensese than tackles are. If we were a pass first offense than tackles would be more important. However pass rushing de's become nullified when you're a run first team, making the importance of tackles well not all that important, and the interior of your line all the more important. Now it's good to hear we were having conversations with arizonas freddie jones. I understand why mularkey wants a blocking te, but we also need a guy who's capable of being a receiving threat as we don't have a reliable safety valve. If we can sign freddie jones mark campbell is plenty capabale imo of being our blocking te. Most teams have a good pass catching threat and blocking threat at te anyway However I'm not holding my breath. It's just refreshing to know we are talking to people that could improve this team. It's a long offseason. No reason for doom and gloom yet. However if we don't sign any free agents by training camp than I'll start to worry. -
Are The Bills Actually Looking At Starting
MartyBall4Buffalo replied to Mark VI's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Exactaly why teague should not play lt or be a starter at center for that matter. If we're gonna be a smashmouth football team which should be our mo, teague is not a guy we can use on the line. We're gonna be running an awful lot and to have a guy whos pretty much useless at the point of attack in the running game is pointless. While I still have hope the line will get fixed, a part of me truly believes the Bills brass feels fine with starting teague at lt, bannan at og and tucker at center and rolling the dice. Hopefully I'm wrong for JP's and willis's sake otherwise this is gonna be one loooooooooooooong season -
The Buffalo Bills..... are making the same mistake the giants made. Expecting Jim McNally to make Filet Migon out of mince meat

Coy Wire is worse than prioleau, and his st play isn't all that impressive I'd go on to say Sam Aiken is a better st player than coy wire is. Wire is useless, and god forbid something happen to milloy our secondary takes a huge step backwards with wire as the backup. P.S- What ever happened to the official Coy Wire Sucks Thread?

Are The Bills Actually Looking At Starting
MartyBall4Buffalo replied to Mark VI's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
eww. Wasn't the reason he was cut from the broncos, is that he was a horrible lt? Teague played ok at center and improved as the season went on, but he's not starting lt material. I'm not gonna even get into the bad shape our oline is cause it's getting to the point it's beating a dead horse -
Maybe we got rid of Bledsoe too soon
MartyBall4Buffalo replied to VABills's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
these rules are getting dumb. We might as well get rid of all contact and play two hand touch in pads -
Jacksonville resigns WR Troy Edwards
MartyBall4Buffalo replied to Tipster19's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
It's important we bring in a 3rd wr and a te. Whether it's through free agency or the draft. We have no viable receiver threat outside of moulds and evans and if one of them should go down we have nothing. I would have like david patten but since we can't get him I looked toward the draft. Maybe a guy who can eventually replace moulds like A Chris Henry, Reggie Brown, if not maybe just a slot type wr and I thought of someone who has extrodinary speed and play making ability. Roscoe Parrish. we could get him maybe in the 4th rd -
I personally Liked Pierson. I think he was a good st teams and a decent ss backup. Better than coy wire anyway. He could lay the lumber and had a knack for making plays especially in blitz packages in nickle and dime defenses. I understand not being worth his contract, but given the choice between Coy Wire and Pierson Prioleau I'd choose the latter anyday. Now a few other things We're dangerously thin at our depth for safety positions and this isn't good considering Vincents penchant the past few years for getting injured. Although I like Rashad Baker. The kids a playmaker and makes a fine backup and eventualy starter at fs. Coy wire on the other hand blows goats <not in the literal sense>. He's pretty much useless, despite what some say about his st play. He can't tackle, he can't cover, he has no speed or hands. He's not even a good backup. So Safety is definitly an area we should address in the draft. If wire is on this team next year I'll be suprised and disapointed. Unlike some others I am worried about a #3 wr. It's a glaring week spot, and despite others hope for Josh reed. $100 says reed will be our 5th wr by the begining of the season aiken at #3 and Johnathan smith at #4. I'd like this position to be upgraded during the draft or free agency but it's not as important as te. Where and how we address the te issue I don't know. I guess it depends how we address the oline first. I truly believe the best friend a young quaterback can have is a good te. They're more important than even a #3 wr, as they're usually on the field more. Te's are essential in todays game, and the best teams usually have guys who can make plays at that position. Some teams even have 2. Like the Eagles. Chad Lewis and LJ Smith. The Pats Daniel Graham and Christian Fauria. The Colts Marcus Pollard and Dallas clark. The chargers Antonio Gates, The Falcons Alge Crumpler. The Chiefs Tony Gonzalez and blocking te Jason Dunn, not to mention 2nd rd pick kris wilson. Green Bays Bubbah Franks The list goes on and on. our te's don't touch any of those players listed, although I like Euhu's "potential" thats a dangerous word to use especially with a young quaterback. I'd like to see Losman given every chance to succeed but we're dangerously thin at offensive weapons.

NFL Network showing AFC East breakdown

Sure because JP Losman has proven so much and has made so many plays when things break down... oh wait he hasn't Look I like the confidence some people have in Losman. I hope he turns out that good, but in all reality we're going to take a step back. Despite Losmans mobility we don't know if he can improvise on the fly and make things happen. At least not at the nfl level. I'm glad Bledsoe is gone and we're moving in a new direction. However we're gonna need an youth infusion on our defense within the next 2 years. We haven't made the playoffs since 1999, we haven't won a playoff game since 1995, and every year it seems like we're "rebuilding". I'm quite tired of waiting for next year. Even though I don't really have a choice. I hope Losman plays every bit as good as some on this board seem to think he will, but I won't be a believer until I see it. I expect us to come out of the gate on offense slow and vanilla. We need a lt a lg and a new center. Trey teague got cut from denver because he was not a good lt. He gave up 12 sacks his last year in denver at lt. You really want him as our lt? Our starting lg right now according to mcnally is justin banan? Ok that so that gives us a bad lt, and an inexperienced lg with esentially a rookie qb (as far as game experience goes). We have no te for a safety valve and no solid wr outside of moulds and evans. I don't see how we aren't gonna take a step back this season. -

Is anyone comfortable with the thought of that group protecting JP losman? I mean honestly now? That's an attrocious starting line

Why do I keep hearing that teagues "natural position" is lt when he played center in college, and was cut from the broncos because he was a bad lt?

NFL Network showing AFC East breakdown
MartyBall4Buffalo replied to mary owen's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I think they were all pretty much on in their assesments. We are gonna take a step back this year, despite our wishful thinking and hope. It's just that the culpeppers, and bradys of the world aren't the norm for 2nd year qb's. I also agreed with parkers assement we should draft a te in the 2nd. I've been screaming for this team to get a te for the past 3 years and it hasn't happened yet hopefully we fix the oline in free agency and alex smith from stanford falls to us at 55 which I think he'll be available. The reason I think we'll take a step back is cause teams know espcially early in the year we're gonna be running a lot and playing vanilla. this is where a good te can help us cause even in a vanilla offense a te that is reliable can open things up, and is a young qb's best friend. I'm not gonna make season predictions cause it's still way too early. All I can really say is I feel if we can get womack/demulling. OUR LIne would be pretty solid. Get a te in the draft and bulid defensive depth throught the rest of the draft as our d is coming on major free agency issues the next 2 years. -

Vikings now have best secondary (maybe defense)

I'd still take the ravens, ours, pats, steelers, jags, jets, eagles defenses over the vikings. That and the vikings coach is Mike Tice -

Here is a nice risk for TD
MartyBall4Buffalo replied to NavyBillsFan's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I always liked courtney brown, and if he came at the right price I would not mind him being here 1 bit. I think he's one of those underachieving players that just needs to be in the right enviorment well that and to be to stay healthy. Not a bad idea, as after oline I think de is our biggest need. P. S. One thing I didn't get about that article though is this "Last month, Brown said he'd be willing to move to linebacker in the team's 3-4 defensive scheme. " Courtney brown is 6'4 290lbs isn't that a bit big to play lb? -
the vikings are making some serious moves on their defense, first pat williams, than fred smoot now Sharper and I hear they might trade the jags for donovan darius that would give them a damn good secondary Vikings | Sharper Signs Four-year Deal - from www.KFFL.com Sat, 12 Mar 2005 11:43:14 -0800 Associated Press reports the Minnesota Vikings have signed free agent S Darren Sharper (Packers) to a four-year deal.
