Philly/TO honeymoon over?
MartyBall4Buffalo replied to /dev/null's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Maybe I'm missing something but whats the problem? TO is the best wr in the nfl, he got an agent that will look out for his needs and get him paid. Superstars get paid thats just how the cookie crumbles. -
Scouts Inc. Todd McShay says Henry for Shelton
MartyBall4Buffalo replied to brihs2005's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
If this deal gets done I have a feeling tom donahoe is trading up in hopes that matt jones will still be there, or a cb like fabian washington, brandon browner, Corey Webster or maybe even one of the wr's a reggie brown who could be a eventual replacement for eric moulds imo. I don't see a swap of 2nds happeining for a linemen to be honest, when we'll still be able to get a quality center in the 3rd. -
Hope you had a great birthday. P.S.- Your avatar still really creeps me out

I voted alex smith, but I would not be obliged to cb corey webster or c chris spencer or wr vincent jackson. those would be my top 4 out of the choices listed -

Congratulations P.S. It was a good thing he was born a bills fan now, and not after we win the superbowl, wouldn't want anyone calling your son a bandwagoner Once again Congratulations on your new bundle of joy who will bring you many endless days of hapiness -
I think the pass blocking thing is overblown, I think our line is better in pass protection than it is in run blocking, and I bring attention to this as when willis was instituted into the lineup the sack #'s decreased dramatically, but we got stuffed a lot for no gains, and losses on running plays. The interior of our line imo was the biggest reason for this as they just couldn't seem to get consistent push on defenders, which is the biggest reason I was so happy to hear bennie anderson was brought in. The coaches recognized a weakness and trying to improve that area of our game. A Lot of pass protection imo falls on the ability of qb to get rid of the ball quickly, and for rb's to pick up a blitz, also added with losmans mobility and the coaches hopefully emphasizing a strong running game, it should make our average pass blocking line look better at it, while the running game goes strong.

V-Coach - Bennie Anderson signed
MartyBall4Buffalo replied to Coach Tuesday's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I think we could get matt jones at 55. I know Jones has out of this world intangibles, but I can't see a guy who doesn't have a true position coming into the nfl going in the top 50 of the nfl draft. If we pull the trigger on the shelton deal, Alex Smith, Attaj Hawthorne, or kevin burnett(as we need someone to replace posey after this season) in the 2nd is what I'd like to see and a center in the 3rd, someone like richie incognito -

V-Coach - Bennie Anderson signed
MartyBall4Buffalo replied to Coach Tuesday's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
this is definitly great news to hear. Bennie is a road grader in the truest sense of the word, and while his pass blocking might not be the greatest, our idenity is gonna be a smashmouth style of play, This signing is great for willis and great for our left side of our oline. Great signing This is definitly a slow year I'm estatic about offensive linemen -

MartyBall4Buffalo replied to OnTheRocks's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Yeah twice Once for tagging on a van. No charges were pressed , and once for public intoxication/ public urination urinating on a police vehicle. (Not that the cops caught me but I was 15 and didn't know at the time cop cars had video cameras on them ) never spent any time in prison but was brought into the station where I just sat till they let me go. Nothing on my record. -
Are Shelton and Anderson the right type of OL?

Are Shelton and Anderson the right type of OL?
MartyBall4Buffalo replied to JoeF's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
You hit the nail on the head on both counts. I've seen quite a few people knock anderson for pass blocking without mentioning the following. Boller sucks, and they have no wr's. When your pass blocking for a team who's qb has the accuracy of a blind man, and who's wr's can't create any seperation to save their lives pass blocking becomes quite difficult. I'd venture to say pass blocking for the ravens offense has to be the most difficult job for an olinemen in the entire nfl. If you're moderatly good at it than more power to you, and before people go knocking bennie anderson, from what I remember seeing last year all pro LT John Ogden got burnt pass blocking for Boller as well. Anderson is a mauler, and would be perfect with the mentality of the bills a smash mouth running team. I never watched many cardnial games but when I did see them play, LJ Shelton rarely ever got beat. He's good at pass blocking and a great run blocker, and while I wouldn't say he's an upgrade over jennings at least not pass blocking, he is imo a better run blocker. I'd call it an even squash. Losing jennings and replacing him with equal talent in shelton for less money. -
Which sport will suffer the most without steroids?

I chose other and say The Olympics. We'll eventually start to see a decline in medals that the US, Russia and China win -
lists like these are stupid when Free agency is just really getting started, the draft hasn't taken place, and players have not reported to training camp. Getting all riled up over this is complete nonsense. The oline can and will be fixed through free agency or the draft, Pat williams is 32 years old and simply not worth the contract the vikings gave him defering his bonus making his contract this year to be around 7.2 million dollars. You really want to pay a 32 year old dt that much money? If you do I got a spot on the brooklyn bridge for low rent that I can sell you. The only legit gripe here is at the quaterback position. However in the long run it's the right move, as mularkeys system is basically set up for a mobile qb. Losman is an unknown, but it's time to move in a new direction compared to the known in bledsoe. We weren't going anywhere with him anyway. A solid lt, lg, te and the oline is improved. Defensive depth in the draft and we can than deal with the coming free agent crisis we'll have on that side of the ball within the next 2 years. Don't hit the panic button just yet.

possible draft day scenrio
MartyBall4Buffalo replied to frogger's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I think Ron Edwards is extremely raw and his poor production was mostly due to not being motivated I think Tim Krumrie is just the coach to fix that. Edwards will have a fire lit under his ass, and will make us forget about williams. However I also think we have to go to the draft to build dline depth and eventual replacement for adams. -
BIlls want Shelton & a pick or swap 2nds
MartyBall4Buffalo replied to PIZ's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
If we did swap 2nd's with the cards and say david baas and alex smith from stanford are both on the board. I'd go with alex smith. We can always get a good guard in the 3rd rd. Alex Smith is gonna end up being a damn good te for whatever team is lucky enough to get him. -
DING! DING! DING! We have a winner.... kind of lol I agree 100% on moving Mike Williams to LT. However this is what I'd do after that. I'd sign Bennie Anderson as our lg, draft a rt with our 1st pick. I really don't think we have to draft a center. I kind of Like Ross Tucker at center. From what I remember about tucker this past year, is when he filled in for teague our line improved especially in run blocking. When Tucker became the starter at lg for us Willis started ripping off the majority of his runs to the left side of our oline.Tucker might not get a lot of press but he's a smart physical player with a mean streak. I think he would make a fine center. Either way I do not want teague at lt. He was a horrible lt in denver. I doubt highly he's suddenly gonna get better at it now.

Who the hell does Joe Burns have Naked pictures of that he's once again on this roster? We could've always just signed some scrub to do what burns does. I'm also not thrilled that coy wire is still on this team. We would've been better off letting him go and drafting a backup who can actually do his job right. Here's hoping that Coy Wire never sees the field on defense for a signifcant amount of time Times like this make me sad The Official Coy Wire Sucks thread isn't around.

LB Cowart traded to Minnesota
MartyBall4Buffalo replied to SHOUTBOX MONSTER!'s topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
it's too bad they don't need a de otherwise I'm sure marcellus wiley would be on that team by now. it seems the vikings really enjoyed watching the 1998 buffalo bills. Doug Flutie to the vikings perhaps? -
