Let's Play the Prediction Game

I also say Kevin Everett -
The worst case scenerio?!?
MartyBall4Buffalo replied to BuckeyeBill's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Mike Williams or Willis Mcghaee I say Mike williams cause as it stands right now he's our only starting tackle even though his ability is qustioned. While he may not be much of a pass blocker, he has has shown he can be dominating as a run blocker, and by all accounts he should be. Willis Mcgahee because of his ability to pick up a blitz. We have seen what our offense was like with travis henry and his inability to do blitz pickup. When mcgahee came in sacks droped dramatically, and he also gives us that added dimension of diversifying our running game. We're not just pigen hold to running off tackle or up the middle as willis has shown his ability to break runs to the outside, and say what you want about willis's speed or lack there of, but he was able to rip off 20+ yard runs with much more consistency than travis henry ever did. He was our workhorse and if he goes down we have a malcontent, Joe Burns a midget in shaud williams and a 7th rd draft pick. If we lose Willis I believe we lose all shot this season. -
Reasons to be optimistic about the season
MartyBall4Buffalo replied to Kelly the Dog's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Thats a legit concern that becomes even more founded when you take into account nfl coaches at this time have zero respect for losman. That could change over time when JP becomes more adapted to the nfl game. However, for the time being, until JP gains more experience. Mcgahee will be keyed on. We're going to see plenty of 8 in the box more so than last season. Which could lead to a slump and a plethora of offensive woes. However athletes from the U train hard and at this time I have no reason to doubt Mcghaee. I don't think he's even gotten started trying to prove all the doubters wrong. -
The difference between J.P. and Bledsoe
MartyBall4Buffalo replied to RVJ's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
But, but, but he's not a statue.... Very well said, not to rain on anyones parade cause as fans we all want to see the Bills have success, but it seems people are penciling in losman as can't miss no doubt about it blue chip franchise quaterback, when the fact is we really know nothing about JP at the nfl level. From what I know about him in college yes he has mobility but he also was sacked repeatedly especially on 3rd a long. I believe Evans and Parrish will help in this regard as well as everett and a solid running game. We will not be a passing team. If we are we'll fall by the wayside of JP Losman. JP is raw and doesn't have his feet wet at the pro level. To say he's an "automatic upgrade" over Bledsoe is unfounded propoganda by the dead horse beaters club. We know Bledsoe had his limitations, but we know nothing about JP. To say an essential rookie and thats basically what he is in terms of playing experience is better than a 12 year starter is too overly optomistic The coaching staff knew we weren't gonna win with Bledsoe, but we're also not about to win games because of Losman we'll win games with the strength of our running game and our defense and st's. Losman will have game plan suited around his strengths that doesn't ask him to win games, just not make any mistakes.... sound familiar? Still though I hope for the best, that JP is the 2nd coming of Favre/Elway/Marino/Young/Montana etc etc all rolled into one and sets the world on fire, but as I've always stated I don't give a flying poop about who starts at qb for the Bills as long as the Bills are successful thats all that really matters. -
Deion Branch , Dante Hall , Troy Brown , Brandon Stokley , Antwaan Randle El, Santana Moss, L. Coles, Dennis Northcutt, Peerless Price, Lee Evans are all short they seem to do ok. I liken Parrish to a Deion Branch or Randle El. Put him in the slot and with his speed he'll be able to stretch defenses with his speed. And while he might not win many or any jump ball battles he'll be able to get good sepeartion on timing routes and crossing patterns leading to plenty YAC (Yards after catch) plus he'll be a weapon on st's as well. At Least thats the theory. let's not rag on someone cause they're short when they haven't played a down in the nfl yet. P.S I don't want to know why or how you know parrish is 5'8 in high heels. keep that stuff to yourself

Mr. Larry says the Henry to
MartyBall4Buffalo replied to realtruelove's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I got to thinking. The titans have disgruntled defensive tackle Albert Haynesworth. It's probably a pipe dream as Haynesworth is one of the best dt's in the league and more valuable than just travis henry. While I love Calico If that was the trade that would more than likely this is the last we'll see of eric moulds this season, and we have bigger needs at the moment than another wr. Though I believe Calico has the potential to be the next Terrell Owens (talent wise) -
For fantasy football, what Bills' players would
MartyBall4Buffalo replied to Tipster19's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I try to avoid drafting bills players other than rb's, but Mid to late 1st rd- willis mcgahee- he shouldn't be the first back off the board, and shouldn't go before the likes of holmes, tomlinson, alexander are top 3 fantasy wise. Willis is a steal any later than the end of rd 1 Lee Evans/Eric Moulds- Evans is hot.... Moulds not. I've had moulds on my fantasy teams the past few years and well he's just not a guy you can rely on. Evans breakout rookie season earns him 5th/6th rd consideration. Moulds 8th rd The Bills defense was the #1 scoring defense last year in yahoo leagues I'd stay away from drafting losman you can probably get him on waiver wire later in the years no need to waste a pick on him Personally as far as fantasy football goes Willis and The Bills defense are your safest route stay away from anyone else. -
All this talk about wonderlics scores...
MartyBall4Buffalo replied to Ramius's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
To Be fair we should be allowed to take it twice, Once this year and once again next year, and those with more posts aka our "higher touted posters" should receive copies of the questions and answers before taking the test a 2nd time next year. This is the only fair way as I'm pretty sure that's how they do it in the nfl -
I'll give a 2 part opinion 1. I absolutely Love Tyrone Calico. I believe he has the ability to be the next Terrell Owens. 6'4 225 lbs and fast who can break on a route with tremendous acceleration. He's got the size the speed, the ability what he has to do is stay healthy although last year it was more Roy Williams fault than his own. I look for Calico to have a huge year this year 2. I don't want calico on my team. Theres no place for him. Calico has the talent to be a true #1 wr in this league, However we have Eric Moulds, Lee Evans, Roscoe Parrish.... there's really no place for calico on our team. If next year Eric Moulds is no longer with us by all means I'd love to grab a talent like Calico, but for this year I'm going to have to politely decline.
-
I would've loved Aaron Glenn 5-6 years ago. He used to be one of the best run support corners in the league if not the best. He was Antoine Winfield with hands. However he's going on 34 years of age. No thanks I'll pass

What about Doug Brien when Jets cut him?
MartyBall4Buffalo replied to BenchBledsoe's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
For a pro football reference site you think they could get some things right. 1st. Doug Brien was not the Jets kicker in 2002 he played for the vikings 2nd. John Hall was the jets kicker in 2002 3rd. Doug Brien Sucks -
What about Doug Brien when Jets cut him?
MartyBall4Buffalo replied to BenchBledsoe's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
The Same Doug Brien who played for the vikings in 2002 who if I recall missed not 1 but 2 extra point attempts playing us? The same Doug Brien who cost the Jets a chance at the afc championship game? That Doug Brien?!?!? No Thanks I'd Rather have Lindell -
The better teams in the nfl all have good receiving threats from the te position SD- Antonio Gates- 2005 record 12-4 #3 scoring offense in the nfl #11 in yards KC- Tony Gonzalez, Jason Dunn, and Kris Wilson- #2 in scoring offense #1 in yards IND- Dallas Clark, Marcus Pollard(I know pollards no longer there now) #1 in scoring offense #2 in yards Vikings- Jermaine Wiggins, Kleinsasser #6 scoring offense #3 in yards ATL- Alge Crumpler #16 scoring offense #18 in yards 11-5. lost in nfc championship game NE- #4 Scoring offense #7 in yards 14-2 superbowl champs Christian Fauria | 16 | 16 195 12.2 2 | | Daniel Graham | 14 | 30 364 12.1 7 Philly Birds- #8 scoring offense #8 in yards. LJ Smith,Chad Lewis Almost all the top tier teams in the nfl have a reliable te option some have 2. In todays nfl A te t is one of the most important positions on your team. It gives you a threat in the redzone, a threat on 3rd and short and for some teams, like the chiefs, chargers, colts a threat in the vertical passing game. All we did is add a speedy receiving te with potential to add frame and become a good blocker who will instantly help out JP by demanding he be accounted for so teams can't key on us so easily. A Good te opens up everything and only makes your team better.

Least deserving= most coverage
MartyBall4Buffalo replied to AKC's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Troubles are all the same. -
This probably doesn't mean much of anything as I believe come week 1 Everett will be our starting te but it's bills related so here ya go http://sports.yahoo.com/nfl/news?slug=fanb...nball&type=lgns Bills: Everett likely won't start by Fanball Staff - Fanball.com Monday, April 25, 2005 News Former Miami Hurricane tight end Kevin Everett was selected by the Bills in the third round of the draft. He is projected to play some in passing situations this year, but will need some seasoning before he is handed the starting job, according to the Buffalo News. "Right away in the pass game he will be hard to cover, either at the line or put him in the slot, flex him out a little bit in motion," said Bills scout Marc Ross. "As a full-time guy, I don't know about that right now." Views The Bills have a couple of capable tight ends in Mark Campbell and Tim Euhus. Both are recovering from offseason knee surgeries, but are expected to be ready for training camp. Everett has a good set of hands and is very athletic, but he only started for one year at Miami and clearly needs experience before he's ready to be a full-time guy. Still, his presence muddies the waters in an already cloudy situation, which means your best bet is to stay away from the Bills' tight ends on fantasy draft day.
-
Actually it's pretty simple. Parrish and Everett were drafted, because of speed Parrish is a burner with the potential to be a great slot receiver, and outside of Lee Evans we don't have anyone on our offense capable of converting those 3rd and 15 plays. Yes I think parrish is a reach, but I also believe he has tremendous potential to be a great weapon in the passing game as well as a punt returner. Maybe the reason we haven't used a te is because our current te's wear cement shoes, and can't seperate from coverage? Everett is more of a receiving threat, who is significantly faster than any te currently on our roster, and has the potential to improve as a blocker as well. Mularkey probably recognizes that in todays nfl you need a receiving threat from the te position. For not only as a threat in the redzone, but a threat that doesn't pigeon hold you from calling just running plays on 3rd and short so teams can't key on just 1 or 2 players but have to account for several. Our offense ranked 25th in terms of yardage last year, the only way to improve on yards gained is by improving the overall speed of your offense which we were lacking outside of lee evans.

Predict the Bills receiver 2005 corp
MartyBall4Buffalo replied to Kelly the Dog's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Ok I get it everyone hates Drew Bledsoe but Eric Moulds, Lee Evans, Peerless Price, even travis henry(yeah I know a rb) did so horrible with Bledsoe We can even go back further in Bledsoe's career Shawn Jefferson, Terry Glenn, and oh yeah that Ben Coates fellow was pretty good, Vincent Brisby, Michael Timpson all had their best years under Bledsoe. I'm willing to lay down money that Josh Reed isn't a good receiver not because of who his qb was, but because Josh Reed just isn't good period. -
Predict the Bills receiver 2005 corp
MartyBall4Buffalo replied to Kelly the Dog's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Moulds, Evans, Parrish, Aiken, Johnathan Smith Aka Fast Freddie Reed the odd man out. Reed is now going into his 4th year and has not improved but declined. Drops way too many passes. Can't create seperation, is not good after the catch and can't run routes. Aiken stays for a year otherwise he's gone next year as well. Smith stays because at this point he has made plays on mularkeys team and has more upside than Reed. -
I was reading the story on the front page of two bills drive, This caugt my attention Goldsberry said he chose the Bills because they offered him the best signing bonus as well as a better opportunity to play. The Lions have one of the better fullbacks in the NFL in Cory Schlesinger, while Buffalo fullback Daimon Shelton was injured last season and the team had to use Joe Burns, a 215-pound converted tailback. How some people become reporters is beyond me
-
After a day of thinking about it. Yes I am. Roscoe Parrish has the potential to be a great slot receiver, and puts my 2nd least favorite player on this team next to coy wire. Thats Josh Reed for anyone wondering, on the bench. Parrish could be to us What Randle El is too the steelers. I'm also excited about Kevin Everett and I was when the pick was made too. He has the potential to be a dynamic weapon in the passing game, and it's about time we got a te who doesn't wear cement shoes. Todays picks I have to read up on some more, but right now I'm most happy with everett and the potential he's going to bring to our offense.
-
I hope with our 7th rd and last pick we select

Shazor is still around?!?!? Does he have injury concerns or something? -
that's some funny stuff
