Happy B-day you old fogy. Have some metamusil on me Hope you enjoy your day and have many more to come -
I don't get this line of thinking and perhaps I never will. Say what you want about Bledsoe but looking back on it would you rather Have Noodle arm joey harrington? David Carr? Pat Ramsey? None of those qb's are panning out for their respective teams, and you can't say it's for a lack of talent Carr- Andre Johnson,Domanick Davis Harrington- Kevin Jones/Roy Williams/ "Charles Rogers". Pat Ramsey- "Clinton Portis, Rod Gardner, Lavournes Coles. Ramsey has been beaten to death the past 2 1/2 years, and is in danger of losing his job now that the redskins drafted Jason Campbell. Same Goes for Joey Harrington who just hasn't seen to grasp an nfl offense. While Drew obviousily wasn't great, and didn't get us to the playoffs, he put asses in the seats and made buffalo a desirable place for free agents- sam adams, milloy, spikes, posey, troy vincent. Lawyer Milloy imo is vastly underrated by a lot of Bills fans. It seems they don't realize how important he is to our defense using the term "Just Another NE Castoff". Milloy solidifies our ss position. I'd even go as far to say he's one of the top 5 ss's in the league. He's an excellent Blitzer- See Bills/Rams game this year for proof. The Coverage aspect of his game is completly underrated. There is a reason teams barely beat us with the deep game the past 2 years. Milloy is that reason. And Milloy is also great in the box against the run. I'm glad to have this "NE CASTOFF" on my team. About Keith Traylor Now. I'd like to see what Ron Edwards and Tim Anderson can do before we start bringing in vets to solidify the position. With That said though, If Traylor came here cheap and realized he's not an everydown player anymore I'd take him for depth Purposes

Thats the worst knockoff Bills Jersey I've ever seen

Watching Willis Last year Fred Taylor is exactaly who he reminded me of, and it's not a bad comparison at all. However. Mcgahee is a much better goalline back than Taylor, and let's all pray Mcgahee doesn't end up with the nickname Fragile Willis, like Taylor has with "Fragile Fred" Willis imo is plenty fast. While he looks slow watching him, he can bounce to the outside and hit holes off tackle pretty quick. While He's not breaking those long 70-80 yard runs, he ripped off more 20+ yard runs than travis henry ever will in his career. (That's not a rip at Henry, only comparing cause he was our most recent back). Willis has a wicked stiff arm, and can bounce off defenders like a bowling ball. He should have a huge year this year.

http://www.sportsline.com/nfl/story/8441273 1 New England Patriots 1 The champs have actually improved in the offseason, adding key veterans like David Terrell and Duane Starks. Taking them down won't be easy. 2 Indianapolis Colts 2 We know the offense will be good, and adding Marlin Jackson in the first round will help upgrade the defense. 3 Philadelphia Eagles 3 A deep, talented team again looks like it will be the class of the NFC. Are there any challengers? 4 Baltimore Ravens 5 This is a team we're really high on this year. If Kyle Boller can develop, watch out. The feeling here is he will. 5 Pittsburgh Steelers 4 They will push for the AFC title again, and the key to getting to the Super Bowl will be the improvement of Ben Roethlisberger. 6 Atlanta Falcons 6 Will Michael Vick improve his passing? If he does, they can unseat the Eagles. 7 Jacksonville Jaguars 10 They were a trendy team to watch last year, but this year they are a legit playoff team. They do need to keep Fred Taylor healthy. 8 San Diego Chargers 7 Was 2004 a fluke? Not likely. But they will be hard-pressed to have the same record in an improved division. 9 Denver Broncos 11 It's time for Jake Plummer to take this team to a playoff victory. If not, the heat gets hotter on The Teflon Coach. 10 Minnesota Vikings 16 They will miss Randy Moss, despite what they may say, but the improvement on defense may make up for that. 11 Carolina Panthers 15 They've made some nice moves in the offseason, but there is still some uncertainty as to who will be the feature back. That's not good for the style of ball their coach prefers. 12 New Orleans Saints 13 This is the year. It's time for this talented group to play as it did in the final four weeks last season. 13 Oakland Raiders 25 Can't wait to watch all the 38-35 games this team plays. Kerry Collins to Randy Moss will be explosive. 14 New York Jets 8 If Chad Pennington's shoulder is fine, they'll be competitive. If not, they'll be drafting in the top 10. 15 Buffalo Bills 14 The defense will be good again, but the team's fate rests with J.P. Losman. Is he this year's Roethlisberger? 16 Kansas City Chiefs 17 Once again the main question is the same: Have they done enough to help the defense? 17 Seattle Seahawks 9 I don't know why, but I have a feeling they will slide some this season. They'll be competitive, but slide just a bit. 18 Green Bay Packers 12 There are a lot of holes on defense, which might force Brett Favre to play like the old Favre. Is that possible? 19 St. Louis Rams 21 Will push the Seahawks and the Cardinals for the NFC West title. If they don't, there will be big changes next year. 20 Arizona Cardinals 27 This team starts here for now, but look for them to be higher as we move closer to the season. Watch out for this group. 21 Dallas Cowboys 26 Can Drew Bledsoe take the offense a notch up from a year ago? The defense will be better with the addition of more talent. 22 New York Giants 29 They will be better than a year ago, but they're still a year away from pushing the Eagles. Look out in 2006. 23 Cincinnati Bengals 19 They are this year's trendy pick. The offense will be fun to watch, but the defense has to make strides for this to be a playoff team. 24 Houston Texans 18 This is a huge year for this franchise in terms of making a playoff push. Have they done enough to do so? 25 Tennessee Titans 20 Coach Jeff Fisher will have this team playing hard and Steve McNair makes them a threat. But they've lost so much the past couple of years. 26 Tampa Bay Buccaneers 23 Carnell Williams will enliven the running game, but the line is still suspect, and is Brian Griese the long-term answer at quarterback? 27 Detroit Lions 24 It's all on Joey Harrington. If he grows as a player, the Lions will be much improved. If Jeff Garcia is playing, they'll be out of it by November. 28 Washington Redskins 22 The staff doesn't believe in Patrick Ramsey, yet he will be the starter at quarterback. The offensive system is also outdated. The defense might have to carry this team again. 29 Chicago Bears 28 They better hope like heck that Rex Grossman is 100 percent healthy. If not, it's going to be a long year. 30 Miami Dolphins 30 Nick Saban will be a heck of a coach. It just won't show for two or three years. 31 Cleveland Browns 31 The last regime left behind a mess that will take time to clean up. But Phil Savage will make that happen. 32 San Francisco 49ers 32 Taking Alex Smith with the first pick was a step in the right direction. Mike Nolan will turn this team around. It will just take time.

Everett injury opens up FA room
MartyBall4Buffalo replied to stevestojan's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I still think a big reason why we don't utilize a te is because we haven't had a te that can create any kind of seperation from linebackers in the middle of the field, or stretch the field in general. Everett has that potential to be that te that difference maker from the te position that is so prevelant in the nfl today. I have no basis for this other than his 4.60 40, and the fact some scouts have compared him to SD'S Antonio Gates -
Lose 3 TE to same injury inside of 6 mo.??

Bills | Agent Speaks About Everett - from www.KFFL.com Mon, 2 May 2005 15:18:57 -0700 ESPN.com's John Clayton reports agent Brian Overstreet said Buffalo Bills rookie TE Kevin Everett (knee) is hopeful of playing again this season, but Everett will be out at least until September or October. "The good news is that it's a perfectly clean tear and it involved only one ligament," Overstreet said. "He could be back this year. Right now, we have to get him the surgery and get him back." I know it's just an agent, so take it for what it's worth I guess -
Bring back Jay Rearsmegma
MartyBall4Buffalo replied to Mike in Syracuse's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
It's bad enough our current crop of te's run with cement shoes, Jay Reimersma happens to run with shoes slower than cement (sorry I couldn't think of anything ) Jay Reiersma once upon a time was an average te, I don' want to see him back. Let euhuhs hold the spot for a year. -
trade Henry for Bubba Franks
MartyBall4Buffalo replied to freester's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Personally I'd prefer trading Henry to Philladelphia for LJ Smith -
What's the next move at Tight End??
MartyBall4Buffalo replied to BuffaloDynamite's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Bubba Franks got the transition tag although he'd be worth it. Ken Dilger is a little long in the tooth at 34 years of age, however he has been productive his entire career Cam Cleeland wouldn't crack our roster of te's I don't think he's even better than ryan neufeld Chad Lewis is up their in years as well. 34 years old. Jay Reimersma is no better than Mark "Cement shoes" campbell at this point Marcellus Rivers is a good st's player but I don't really know much about his ability to play te. Out of this list I'd go after Bubba Franks. However if you just want a stop gap till everett comes back next year, I'd go with one of the older guys a Ken Dilger, or Chad Lewis. -
Anything new to report (Everett injury)?
MartyBall4Buffalo replied to Greg de'Ville's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I had high hopes for Kevin Everett. God damnit it would've been nice to see an athletic te on this team who doesn't run with cement shoes I'm happy though that roscoe is getting rave reviews -
Quite frankly I don't understand it either. Reed's had enough time to prove himself and quite frankly he hasn't done squat. About this 3rd down back stuff we have a 3rd down back his name is shaud williams who did quite nicely last season. It's time to cut rope with Josh Reed. He was good in college, unfortunatly it's not working out in the pros. It's time for the Sam Aikens, the Johnathan Smith's the Roscoe Parrish's to get a shot now.
-
Considering Parrish ran a 4.39 40 I'd say he's a hell of a lot faster than Wayne Chrebet, but if he has the slot receiver ability that chrebet has than thats fantastic. Chrebet has always been a reliable gritty target in the slot.
-
If Roscoe Parrish is really turning heads like they say he is, and that continues into training camp and the preseason and if aiken can step up, than I believe it's time to say Bye Bye to Mr. Biletnikoff Award Winner Josh Reed. Unlike others here I have no faith left in Josh Reed. If he proves me wrong great but I'm not about to hold my breath
-
Hopefully a twsited knee is all it is, and it's good to hear that everett was showing off his athletic ability. It's gonna feel good to have a te who doesn't wear cement shoes.
-
I hope for all the best for your brother- in-law. You got my prayers
-
Good to hear that she's ok. And I understand the cold feet. Even though you may love someone, really give them your whole heart, it's still difficult to take that plunge, but it's still great news that it was just cold feet and she's alive and well.
-
Any Word yet on the extent of Everett's injury?
-
lol I didn't mean it like that. It's just that I like Everett's potential and was really looking foward to seeing what he can do, as I feel he could be a difference maker . I had high expectations for him this season, so I hope his injury isn't serious
-
well this sucks. Thats what I get for being excited about everett. Hopefully it's nothing serious

Do you think J.P will be like Vick?
MartyBall4Buffalo replied to The_Real's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I think this whole wonderlic test is overrated. Some people generally don't test well, not that they're dumb, just that they don't comprehend anmswers as fast as others, even though they could come up with the same answer that someone else did. However that doesn't mean they're dumber than the person who finishes before them or smarter than the people who finish after them. I don't care what roscoe parrish, kevin everett, willis mcgahee or any other player from Miami got on a wonderlic test. Football Players from Miami have proven they can flat out play football. They practice hard, play hard, are used to winning. I'd take players from "THE U" anyday. Now about this thread. I don't get the obsession with Mike Vick. I still think the chargers fleeced atl on this trade, as I'd much rather have ladanian tomlinson than mike vick. Also if Drew Brees has another season like last year he'll have proven at least in my book that he's a better "QUATERBACK" than Vick. The chargers are building something special. The falcons on the other hand. While Vick is a great athlete I question his accuracy and his durability. He has not shown the ability to stay healthy. He's also shown he's not all there upstairs. "I Have two weapons my arms, my legs, and my brain" and "RON MEXICO" If JP has the legs of Mike Vick thats fine, however I hope JP turns out to be a much better quaterback. If JP turns out like any running quaterback I hope it's Steve Young without the concussion problemss. I'm not comparing him to young, I'm just saying Young could kill you with his legs or his arm, and he knew when to do what. If JP learns to do that than we'll be in damned good shape for years to come. -
I take no issue with any of your other position analysis, however this one I do. While Milloy and Vincent are no spring chickens and yes they have the potential to be an amazing safety duo, even better than last year as vincent spent no time in camp playing safety and milloy was injured the first 6 weeks of the season. If these two can stay healthy and get through a camp and preseason together I expect huge things for 2005. I think wire is a bigger question mark as a backup than our fs backup rashad baker. After pushing izell reese out of the starting lineup Baker to me at least proved to be an adequate replacement and I think with more seasoning is our future starter at fs once Vincent gets put out to pasture so to speak. Maybe I'm too over optomistic, but I like the fact Baker is a bit of a ballhawk and has a great mentor in front of him. Coy Wire on the other hand I'm still dissapointed he's on this team. I was hoping we kept pierson prioleau as he has shown to be good in blitz packages, a fiesty st's guy, and I think a tad bit better in coverage than coy wire. Backup ss is still a big question mark, and if milloy should go down and wire is the primary backup I believe our pass defense will take a huge hit.

Thinking about lindell and his PAT streak reminds me of John Carney 2 years ago who basically cost the saints a playoff spot after the saints scored some crazy td against the jags than lined up for the PAT and Carney Shanked it saints lost 20-19 Lindell while accurate from 25-40 yards Most of the time inspires no confidence to have a game resting on his leg. While obviousily the Adam Vinatieri's and that guy from the texans who seems to kick 50 yard fg's with ease everytime I see houston and your david akers don't come along everyday, Kicker is a definite position on this team in need of upgrade.
-
I have a hard time believing this trade, While it makes sense for both teams. The eagles need a rb that can carry the ball 20-25 times, and while westbrook is a nice little back especially receiving he's not as good of a runner as travis Henry. The Bills need a dt with the departure of Pat Williams. Anderson is a virtual unknown and while Edwards did a good job recording 4 sacks last season I'm not sure he can be the presence in the middle that Pat Williams was. Now with that said Corey Simon is one of the best dt's in the nfl to get him for travis henry and a late round pick would be one of the biggest heists at least on paper that I've seen in quite some time, and I'll have to see a source more credible than pro football central before I even get giddy about the idea.
