I think a big part of the reason we were flagged a lot less last year it seemed anyway I don't have anything to back that up is because we began to employ refs in practices. Something that Herm Edwards of the Jets was the first coach to start doing. With that said I think cutting ruben brown was done only because of his contract, and the fact you can't have profesional players blowing up at coaches without some sort of punishment. Our YPC suffered without brown. Say what you want about old turnstile, but he's a heck of a run blocker. More than I can say for our lg by committee last season. Bennie Anderson should be the soultion to that problem

Now that this has been proven to be nothing more than a hypothetical question, and an urban legend that never actually happened I don't feel so guilty about laughing at it -
Where does Clements rank at CB for the Bills...
MartyBall4Buffalo replied to Justice's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I happen to whole heartedly agree with your assesment of Nate Clements, however you speak of clements as a top 5 corner outside of other teams fans and you'd be scoffed at. Unfairly so. I'm hard pressed to find a better corner in the ENTIRE LEAGUE right now than Nate Clements. I also have a hard time finding evidence of many bone headed plays that would knock him down from the pedestal where I put him. The Jimmy Smith thing well Chris Mcallister was stated as saying Jimmy Smith is the toughest wr he's had to face yet. The Fumbles on punt returns don't change my mind that clements not only shutdown his side of the field but can also run across to the other side of the field and make plays, The 2003 week 3 game @ miami comes to mind when clements ran across the field to pick off a pass intended for chris chambers who was being covered btw by winfield. He makes plays, and is leaps and bounds improving as a cover guy. If he has the type of year this season he's fully capable of You pay the man. BTW 1. Clements 2. Odoms 3. Winfield 4. Thomas Smith 5. Jeff Burris -
Personally I hope willis rushes for over 1500 yards and double digit td's, and improves in all aspects of the game while gaining his speed back to break off the bigger runs. When he does I'll be wearing a big smile on my face. I'll enjoy it as a fan, and I'll let the agent and the team worry about paying the player, while I enjoy the individual and hopefulyl team success of players of the Buffalo Bills. With that said, maybe I'm a little bias cause Mcgahee was one of my favorite college players ever and I was stoked as hell when we got him, and I truly believe if he has a big year he should be paid for it. Teams can still pay players large salaries and have success. The Pats paid ty law, the rams had marshall faulk, kurt warner, ike bruce, torry holt, az hakim and won the superbowl and went to 2. Even the great Brett Favre has had contract disputes. The colts are a perenail playoff/sb caliber team and they're paying peyton manning, marvin harrison, and franchised edge. Terrell Owens had a huge game in the superbowl and was obviousily their mvp this season although some might argue mcnabb but hell they pay him a lot too. Owens btw has plenty of heart, he just wants a deal worthy of his level of talent. Agents are hired to get their clients paid. I hope Willis sticks around here for a long long time with a big fat contract to keep him happy, as plenty of teams have proven you can pay stars and still build championship caliber teams.

First and foremost Professional Athletics is a JOB. Like any job if you do it well and or better than your peers you deserve a raise, a bonus whatever, but you deserve to be rewarded for the effort you put in. As fans we lose sight of that this is their job. Pro Sports is their livelehood, they put in for it, with offseason workouts, weight training, speed training, minicamps. training camp, practices, and games on weekends.Even while "minimum salary" of nfl players is more than a lot of us will ever see in our lifetime, It is impossible to expect pro ball players to take less money than their effort is worth for the good of the team or us fans. Now with that said. If and when Willis has a big year, he should be rewarded for his efforts and rightfully so. I wouldn't be willing to take less for my job if I do it better than the majority of my coworkers just for the good of the company, as I expect none of you woule either. If he produces he gets paid end of story.

Add another team to the Travis list

2002 jax | 16 | 287 1314 4.6 8 | 49 408 8.3 0 2003 jax | 16 | 345 1572 4.6 6 | 48 370 7.7 1 2004 jax | 14 | 260 1224 4.7 2 | 36 345 9.6 1 so in the last 3 years "Fragile" fred out of 48 games in the last 3 years has only missed 2 all while rushing for 4110 yards with a 4.6ypc average and 16 td's. While Taylor isn't a td machine, he's a great back when healthy and tough as nails If Taylor is out for the year I could see them offering something for Henry they're a team with a chance to make the playoffs, and I doubt they want to take a huge step back which is what they'd do if taylor is out for the year. -

Willis Mcgahee VIDEO Highlights
MartyBall4Buffalo replied to Cr8ZyA$$BillsFaNnTexas's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
The Pittsburgh Steelers had Hines Ward, Plaxico Burress and Antwan Randle el= power running team. Burress a deep threat, randle el a burner in the slot and Ward a tough wr who can do it all. We can easily be a power running team with our current group of wr's. Moulds to do a bit of everything. Evans the deep threat, and parrish the burner in the slot. Infact I think we have more of the capabilty to be a power running team now than we did before -
Soft Spots for other franchises?
MartyBall4Buffalo replied to MrLocke's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
The Philly eagles, I was a big fan of them when I was younger well as big of a fan as a 5 year old kid could be, I liked cunningham, and that soft spot for them kind of remained, but The Bills will always be #1 in my heart. -
It was worse than that he missed 2 extra points for our ot 45-39 victory over the minnesota vikings in 02 which was won with a bledsoe to peerless price td pass

NFL | 'Fridge' Loses Eating Contest to 135-Pound Man - from www.KFFL.com Tue, 10 May 2005 20:29:01 -0700 The Associated Press reports former NFL DL William Perry badly lost a cake-eating contest Tuesday, May 10, to 135-pound Richard LeFevre, a 61-year-old retired auditor from Henderson, Nevada. LeFevre devoured a 5-pound birthday cake in 11 minutes, 26 seconds to earn the title of "World Cake Eating Champion." Perry, known as "The Refrigerator" during his playing days, started strong but had eaten less than a quarter of his cake when LeFevre finished, and wound up in last place. It was Perry's first sanctioned event since a poor showing at a hot dog-eating contest in 2003.

What did JP say about Vincent hit?
MartyBall4Buffalo replied to bbb's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I don't know what JP said I'll let someone else field that, but if this is the case, my guess is Losman was being a brash egotistical rookie and the savvy vet had to put him in his place. Live and Learn for JP. Hopefully he learned -
While we are on the subject of hatred, which
MartyBall4Buffalo replied to Tolstoy's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
In the division Rodney Harrison, even though I think he's a great safety, his attitude sucks. Corey Dillon, John Abraham, Coles... Even though I would gladly take any of those players especially abraham and harrison. In the entire league Randy Moss. All Talent 0 heart and a real headcase. Even though TO is whinning about money, at least I know he's willing to lay it all out on the field. Moss I haven't seen that from. My Top 5 most hated 1. Randy Moss 2. Warren Sapp 3. Deion Sanders 4. Ray Lewis 5. Chump Bailey -

MartyBall4Buffalo replied to Tolstoy's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Haven't You heard, Hackett's gone, The Jets are destined to go 15-1 and no one can stop em. I loathe "Gang Green" and that clown Fireman ED. Ne is tops on my list though with miami 3rd on my most hated list. -
Scum of the earth to be released from prison
MartyBall4Buffalo replied to LabattBlue's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Unfortunatly the plea-bargain was made before the video tapes were found, and the full extent of Homolka's involvement were known, and this leads us to the sad reality this disgusting excuse for a human being gets set free. -
Student Suspended Over Call to Mom in Iraq
MartyBall4Buffalo replied to Tux of Borg's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I'm a staunch believer in Family comes first, and everything else is 2nd. I support the kids refusal to hang up the phone, especially seeing how his mother is in iraq and who knows how many more times he will be able to talk to her. With that said if he was disruptive and rude I also support the schools decision for punishment on the grounds of his behaivor, however if I was that kid, whatever punishment is handed out is well worth it, to be able to talk to my parents when I don't know how more opportunities I would have to do so. -
Chad Brown signs with NE
MartyBall4Buffalo replied to Thailog80's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
When healthy Chad Brown is a good rush backer, ok against the run and ok in coverage, however he hasn't played a full season since 2001. It's a good signing for ne, but I don't think this is Ne preparing for life without bruschi. I'm pretty sure Brown is an olb not a mlb. -
Ali-Foreman Rumble In The Jungle

I was never much of a boxing fan, but I'll never forget sitting around watching tapes of old fighters with my grandfather who was a huge boxing fan, I decided to watch this fight, and all I can say is I've never seen a fighter with a better combination of speed and power than Ali. -
Should BillsFanForever19 quit with the polls?

I don't mind polls. At least they're Bills/football related so it's all good -
I happen to agree with Merriman and the postons on this one. If you get hurt in minicamp you are SOL

Back to the topic at hand. I'd give Keith traylor a look. Since we do use a dt rotation system. Traylor wouldn't be an everydown guy anyway, and it never hurts to have competition, another alternative at dt might be DT Norman Hand who was released by the giants.
