  1. Here's to the chicago bears, tennesse titans, arizona cardnials, or some team not named the miami dolphins
  2. Yeah I bit and retracted after I couldn't find it on kffl or nfl.com. If it's true which is doubtful theres some big names there although some of them I wouldn't be suprised about at all like peppers, culpepper, seymour
  3. he has 6 in the last 2 years 3 in 2003 and 3 in 04
  4. Nick Novak or Todd France either one of them. If they don't beat out Lindell, I'll deal for another year, but damn bring in someone to challenge him
  5. You want an objective view, but than you state that "TD,O-line, or MW apologists need not respond" So basically you want someone to tell you the o-line sucks so you hear the version of the state of things the way you see them? That's a bit hypocritical.
  6. How exactaly have the jets improved? Trading a 1st rd pick for TE Doug Jolley who btw isn't starting? Mike Nugent is a rookie kicker. the same notion that applies with Bledsoe to Losman applies here as well to Nugent to Doug Brien. While Nugent I believe will be a good nfl kicker he's a rookie so it's not unreasonable to expect falloff. Do you improve by losing a starting offensive linemen? Who exactaly are the jets gonna replace Kareem Mckenzie with? Losing Offensive coordinator Paul Hackett. While Hackett isn't the greatest offensive coordinator in the world he's been good enough to lead the jets offense to the #3 rushing offense in the league last season(their bread and butter) to compliment their stingy defense. Coordinator Mike Heimerdinger who replaces hackett brings a system that on paper looks like it doesn't suit Chad Penningtons strengths. Throwing deeper routes, more passing, take catches away from the fullback and using sowell in more of a blocking role, and generally more passing less running. With a qb coming off shoulder surgery who had questions about arm strength to begin with. It doesn't seem like a great system for him. On paper anyway. Do you improve your team by losing your best run stoping dt? Josh Ferguson was the cog in the jets dline. The same stuff bills fans hear "Our defense will take a hit we lost pat williams" for some odd reason escapes those that talk about the jets when they forget to mention they lost Josh Ferguson. Curtis Martin is another year older. btw this is what happened the last time martin had t330 carries in a season he followed up with a poor year the following year 2001 nyj | 16 | 333 1513 4.5 10 2002 nyj | 16 | 261 1094 4.2 7 Is it entirely unreasonable to expect a dropoff this year, especially considering martin is on the wrong side of 30. Also they lost Lamont Jordan is derrick blaylock as good as Jordan I doubt it? When you look beneath the surface at the jets on paper they have just as many questions at us. To say they're a lock for the playoffs or are in a shoe in to challenge the pats more so than us is just flat out being ignorant and ignoring several glaring problems with the jets. The Patriots are the team to beat, but I personally don't see how the jets are better then us at all.
  7. lol @ buchanon covering moulds. I'd take that matchup all day long if I'm the bills. Buchanon's cover skills suck. Yeah he's a bit of a ballhawk, but a good % of the time it's basically guranteed moulds will own him. If I'm Dom Capers I'd have dunta robinson covering moulds, and let buchanon use his speed to match up with 2nd year wr evans.
  8. I'd like to see ritzman get some snaps as a situational pass rusher. I've been wanting this team to get a true pass rusher for awhile, as it seems without sending the house we can't create pressure. Yes I realize the schme of our defense is to creature pressure thru the blitz, but it would be great to have someone on our dline who can creat pressure through a simple 4 man rush. Maybe Ritzmann is that guy. On another note didn't want Dwight freeney? Dude was awesome in college, and virtually unblockable now in the nfl, best pure pass rusher in the game, and just for the record Aaron schobel- Ht: 6'4" Wt: 262 NFL Exp: 4 College: TCU Dwight Freeney Ht: 6'1" Wt: 268 NFL Exp: 3 College: Syracuse
  9. Man talk about missing the sarcasm in this thread
  10. I could see me hooking up with those two lovely ladies in your avatar
  11. I miss having an oline that gives our runningbacks holes to run through and the qb time to find open receivers, and a kicker who can make long fg's. I forgot that christie used to be pretty damn good.
  12. this didn't last very long Vikings.com reports the Minnesota Vikings have released RB ReShard Lee. also Jim Thomas, of the St. Louis Post-Dispatch, reports the St. Louis Rams have released QB Jeff Smoker. I liked smoker in college wouldn't be opposed to bringing him in practice squad with a chance to earn a spot next year.
  13. I got one how about te teyo johnson. Not much of a blocker, but definitly has hands and serious speed at the te position. He won't be much of a factor in the run game, but I think he'd be good threat from the receiving aspect. Just someone to look at for a need position on our team. Raiders | T. Johnson Released Sat, 3 Sep 2005 19:16:24 -0700 Raiders.com reports the Oakland Raiders have released TE Teyo Johnson. Also the cardinals released safety ernest shazor. He was someone I wanted in the draft for a possible ss successor to lawyer milloy. Yeah he's probably a little big for safety and better off playing lb, but still someone I wouldn't mind bringing in to challenge coy wire.
  14. I'm pretty suprised "Fast Freddy" Smith made the team. I don't think he brings much to the table as a wr, or a punt returner. He's not very fast, he doesn't run great routes, or do much of anything particularly well. The lack of depth at de bothers me. We don't have the best de's to begin with. I think we're weak in run defense when teams run off tackle at us, and should schobel go down we're pretty much sol. I'd also like a true pass rush de, but that's a story for another time. Looking at the dt list, and seeing what the colts signed simon for I'm rather dissapointed. Adams is 30+, Edwards is in the last year of his contract, and wasn't all that great as a starter the last time around. Maybe he's improved now, but if he does have a big year that's big money he's gonna want. Anderson/Bannan/Sape are all question marks who aren't teribly experienced with playing time. The cb depth doesn't bother me. Once Thomas comes back it'll look good, Need be I'd also feel comfortable with vincent moving back to corner and having Rashad Baker play fs. I like Baker. He's young has a nose for the ball and looks like a future starter at fs for us. Coy Wire is the only option there at ss as Baker and Leonhard at natural fs's. Leonhard would be a horrible fit for how we use ss in jerry grays defense.
  15. Please don't even say that
  16. I highly doubt the cowboys win the nfc east. The eagles are still clearly the class of that division and confrence (although personally I think a healthy carolina team is the best in the nfc) but I won't be suprised to see Price prove himself as a competant wr, with a qb that can get him the ball unlike Mike Vick.
  17. Cowboys beat Patriots, Dolphins, Saints to Price By John Clayton ESPN.com The Dallas Cowboys won the Peerless Price sweepstakes Saturday, reaching agreement on a one-year contract worth $2 million.
  18. How about fred gibson yeah he's kind of lanky at 6'4 196lbs, but I thought he was pretty good at georgia and the steelers just cut him. Worth a look imo. His height alone is enough for a possible redzone target. Steelers | Gibson Released Sat, 3 Sep 2005 14:48:51 -0700 The Pittsburgh Steelers announced they have released WR Fred Gibson, the team's fourth-round draft pick. Gibson represented the highest Steelers' draft pick not to make the team's opening day roster since 2000.
  19. Very suprised Ross Tucker got cut, Was he injured worse than what was let on? How the hell did jerman make this team? that dude is horrible. Gause and ritzman getting cut is odd too.. maybe td is planning to pick someone up I don't see who it could be though
  20. How about aaron elling if the vikings cut him seeing how by injury edigner wins the job by default. Or Martin Gramatica? or bring back steve christie? I don't like going into the season with Rian Lindell as our kicker, not with a team that's gonna need every 3 points we can get
  21. You ever been to a denver message board? They all talk superbowl. They believe their dline will be great cause they got rid of "overrated" reggie hayward. A Common theme among denver fans is. "It took Elway 3 years to learn the system and Plummer is in his 3rd year and this is the best team we've had since 1997". Quite frankly they're pretty big homers. About the Bills though I wasn't expecting superbowl this year to begin with, but anything under 7-9 would be extremely dissapointing. I don't hang my hat on preseason happinings but the oline remains a huge question mark. JP played pretty much how I expected a 1st year starter in preseason to play. He showed he has some talent to make things happen, but he also showed he has a way to go as far as reading and reacting to a defense. I expect steady progress by week 6 or so, and to see this team really take off in the 2nd half of the seaso, kind of like last year. 10-6 is my prediction
  22. Personally I was excited about Bennie Anderson I thought he was exactaly what we needed for our offense, a big road grader to clear lanes for willis. I thought the poor bass blocking that people said he possessed was nothing more than pass blocking for kyle boller and the worst group of wr's in the nfl, the penalty knock was the only thing I had against him, but I was willing to give McNally the benefit of the doubt that he could help turn him around. However even the one major strength I thought Anderson had in run blocking he doesn't even seem very good at that, and his play in the preseason has not given me much hope at all. I'm no oline coach but if Bennie still looks this bad by week 4 hopefully tucker is healthy or give preston a shot. I must say though I have been impressed with mike gandy. While he's probably more of a natural lg, he has done his job well, I hope he keeps it up throughout the season. I doubt he's the long term answer though.
  23. Stay Safe, God Bless and kick some ass
  24. I'm all for it. I think it's a good idea
  25. Not suprised the colts can sign him. I'm one of the people who strongly believe regardless of the mirage known as the "salary cap" if you want to sign someone you can find ways to do it. Good for the colts they now improved the most important position on the defensive side of the ball. I was really hoping with this being Ron Edwards final year on his contract and sam adams getting up their in age that we'd make a run for simon, but alas it was not meant to be. The colts will have a hell of a time though now working out contracts for freeney and edge
