  1. Maybe but Paul Hackett was a qb coach and with the jets the past few years he knew you had to run the ball to win. Al Saunders another former qb coach now oc of the chiefs, and well there whole offensive success is based on running the ball. Good coaches know how to establish a rhythm and stick with what works. No you're not gonna have good calls all the time, but the good ones know how to be consistent and play to your teams strengths and other teams weaknesses. For the people who keep blaming the defense, about lack of turnovers etc etc. The major difference is during our streak last year the offense could at least score points off turnovers, forcing other teams to be more one dimensional, making it easy to play defense against the pass, or run. now due to lack of offensive efficency it makes it a lot harder for a defensive coordinator to scheme and harder for defensive players to force turnovers. When we get better on offense we'll get better on defense, right now our lack of defensive depth especially on the dline is being exposed, no pressure from front 4, no points from offense makes long games for our defense.
  2. Cincy's played The Browns/Vikings/Bears/Texans. Yes Carson Palmer is great, and will be for quite some time, yes their offense is good, but no I'm not overly impressed. Beat pitt then we'll talk. Like bufforange said they remind me of last years seattle as well, we'll see when they start playing some division games. It's Still pitts division imo. Indy is exactaly what I expected them to be a young very fast improving defense. There defense wasn't their problem in the playoffs last season. Unless it's the defenses fault they only scored 3 points against the pats. Awesome dline, iffy lb's and a young but decent secondary that should improve. Bob Sanders is what antoine winfield would be if he played safety. He can bring the hurt. Is there anyone that can block dwight freeney? The Broncos. I thought they were gonna suck this year, Bringing in the browns dline, and I thought their string of rb's would run out. Mike Anderson is resurfacing this year, and it looks like tatum bell is slowly coming around. I still don't think they're anything to write home about, but destroying the chiefs and then the jags @ jacksonville, color me impressed. Tampa Bay without a doubt. Caddy is running on all cylinders, and their defense looks great, but they can't be running caddy 30 times a game all season long and expect him to keep up his torrid pace, he's already experiencing minor injuries after just 3 games. As the season progresses more of a split has to be made between Caddy and Pittman, if they want to keep caddy fresh for the playoffs. That's pretty much it. The NFC right now looks like it'll come down to philly/tampa. I have to give the edge to tampa, due to the fact I think mcnabb is gonna hurt his team when it counts due to his sports hernia. It'll get progressivly worse throughout the season. The AFC imo is still a wide open race. You can't count out Ne but it looks like indy's year so far. Pitt will be there, we'll see about cincy, denver etc.
  3. Whoever was responsible for taking out mcgee on the kickoff return today seriousily wtf was that. I didn't think it was possible to experience that high and low of emotions in a matter of seconds. In all honesty Tom Clements for his playcalling mcgahee 5 rushes 24 yards on the first drive so what happens the next 10 drives only touches the ball 11 times. Theres no reason why Mcgahee should not touch the ball at least 25 times a game. Throw out the balance stuff, we should predominatly be a running team. RUN THE DAMN BALL.
  4. I wasn't refering to any drive in paticular. I worded it wrong, what I meant was we had a good 1st drive, and that after that mcgahee was complelty underutilized, and the whole inept play calling was just very frustrating to watch on a game I believe that if we gave willis more then 16 carries we could've easily controled the clock and won.
  5. This is seriousily the most frustrating thing. How do you go 10 plays 75 yards, the saints can't stop willis, so afterwards we just stop giving him the ball and pass with no success. This is a game we could've won if we stuck to the run. The whole day was disgusting. From the inept play calling to the travesty on mcgee's kick return at the end of the 1st half, just disgusting.
  6. TKO or Nate Clements
  7. JULIAN PETERSON. I know it's early but statistically he's off to the best season of his career, after tearing his achilles last year. TKO is a workout warrior. I wouldn't be suprised to see him come back at full strength next season. Infact I'd bank on it.
  8. A More upbeat perspective of what can happen is Julian Peterson who is off to statistically the best start of a season in his career after tearing his achilles last season.
  9. Not that I don't agree with you that the defense has been a let down so far, but you're happy with JP's play? I think he can get better over time so I'm not ready to throw in the towel but how can you honestly be happy with 36 net yards passing?
  10. WAIT! LET ME TELL YOU SOMETHING..... THIS POST RIGHT HERE.... THIS POST SPEAKS THE TRUTH
  11. Actually I don't think Crowell lacks speed at all. No he's not as fast as takeo spikes, not many olb's are, I just think he lacks experience, and will be interested in seeing how he steps up throughout the season if spikes is our for the year, or any serious amount of time.
  12. he looks like a qb that just led a game tying drive
  13. I agree with everett or any te with solid speed and hands would help losman out a lot. Our current te's are slower than molasses. Parrish I'm unsure about as losman has not shown the ability to be accurate throwing to wr's yet. A good safety valve is an especially important part in the development of a young qb ala crumpler with vick. A Good te will make much bigger difference then a #3 wr.
  14. Why even jump into a conversation like this, the stupidity of the original comment about TKO being overrated speaks for itself
  15. and just as you say that bledsoe hits glenn with a 58 yard pass
  16. Considering That Mcgahee did it by himself and was the only offensive player on the bills who made anything happen, makes it more impressive then the falcons trio. Willis is the truth and if/when we ever get an oline and losman develops or we get a real qb he'll be even better.
  17. Who cares who the qb is? I don't care if it's losman, holcomb, matthews, stojans grandma, the problem is this oline is complete crap. They can't pass or run block, we have no speed at the te position, and Tom Clements is very suspect as far as playcalling goes. I have no problem keeping losman in if he gains experience, or gets killed so maybe someone in the bills front office realizes how much the offensive line sucks.
  18. No but we can draft D'brickshaw ferguson, and then a left guard and rg and pick up a te in free agency like randy mcmichael. This offense seriousily lacks speed and an oline.
  19. Rod coleman is definitly a nightmare in the middle of the falcons dline, as he's a sack monster, but much like our own ron edwards he's not all that great vs the run. This game will turn into a lot like the bucs game for our offense if there is no commitment to the run game. If Willis is prancing behind the line looking to make something happen out of nothing instead of just taking the available crease and getting 2-3 yards a pop. We'll continaly put our defense on the field in bad situations against another offense that lives and dies on the strength of their run game. I'm pretty sure to answer simon's question that jerman did infact finish last sundays game for Mike Williams, which doesn't equate to good things at all for Losman rolling out/ Maybe having shelton or wr chip block kearney would help with that. However we should be running the ball with willis. Until we establish a ground game no one will fear JP Losman. Yes it's nice Lee Evans and Moulds will get single coverage, but defenses won't have respect for that if the quaterback can't hit them in stride. As our run game goes so goes our offense. Even if Willis has 28 carries for only 70 yards that's still showing commitment and will tire out a defense and make things much easier on the quaterback. Atlanta will pound pound TJ Duckett and Warrick Dunn much like the bucs pounded caddy and occasionaly pittman. That's why it's imperative for our offense to pick up some 1st downs this week. Pound willis into the ground, and our offense will run much smoother. I agree with the people who have said we shouldn't blitz vick. Play containment and force him to sit in the pocket and beat you with his arm. Very Slim chance he'll ever be able to do that. Vick a lot like former pitt qb kordell stewart and most running qb's is at his worst when forced to put together a long drive where he has to beat you throwing. We'll be able to force him into mistakes and have the d help out our own struggling offense. I don't see Losman improving much this week, and indeed having the same struggles as last week, if a commitment to running the ball isn't made by Tom Clements and the bills offensive coaching staff.
  20. Most definitly Ted Washington, and Shayne Graham. with honorable mention to Tom Nutten
  21. I still have faith in willis, just 1349 more yards to go just needs to average about 96.4 yards for the next 14 games, and somehow start scoring some touchdowns, I'm not getting nervous about it.... yet
  22. Milloy has been great since he got here and highly under appreciated. It's great to have him on the Bills, and a big plus it keeps coy wire off the field. So Hopefully he can play this sunday.
  23. 10. D Mason 9. E Moulds 8. Steve Smith 7. Marvin Harrison 6. Joe Horn 5. Hines Ward 4. Chad Johnson 3. Torry Holt 2. Randy Moss 1. TO Steve Smith is a burner who's quickly coming into his own. He runs good routes and has great hands. He's quickly climbing the ranks. Joe Horn was the biggest omission on any of these lists. The guy is great, and never gets any respect, but he'll get it from me. I'm not a huge fan of Harrison. Yeah he has a lot of stats, but I just don't think he's more a product of manning that anything else, thats why he gets pushed back on my list, but his stats keep him in the top 10. Randy Moss doesn't beat out TO, maybe when he decides to play to his talent level sure, but for now they don't get any better then the man who "loves him some him".
  24. This stuff doesn't worry me at all. Willis doesn't strike me as the type of guy who's gonna sulk and pout. I don't see someone working so hard to come back, and then just lie down when he truly has his shot. I also remember last year when Dick Vermeil told Larry Johnson "it's time to take off the diapers" and since then Larry Johnson has been an absolute beast. If Mularkey criticizing McGahee has that same type of effect I for one feel bad for any defense we face
