  1. If the measure of greatness is defined as being comparable to LT, Then no one in the league is great. And I don't know what your personal measuring stick of greatness is, but Mcgahee has been damn good this season. He doesn't have the benefit of a Drew Breees, or a Matt Hasselbeck, or Peyton Manning to take pressure off him. Mcgahee is our sole bread and butter. He doesn't have the benefit of the 3 guys ahead of him have as far as a passing game goes. Our Offense is Willis or bust.
  2. Why should they be worried? We're a 3-3 average football team, with potential to get better. A potent rushing attack, and a defense that thrives on risk/reward and can be had with the run game. I'm not overly worried about the raider game, since it's a game we should win. Oakland isn't a good team. their defense is slow, a lot of off tackle stuff, and sweeps and short passes forcing their lb's to run will tire out mount washington sapp and the rest of their front 7, but not they shouldn't be worried about the Bills. we have room for improvement but we gotta show it on the road, which I think we will
  3. LT is definitly in a class of his own, but I love having Mcgahee on the Bills. He was my favorite college running back, and currently my favorite member of the bills next to Nate Clements and Takeo Spikes. I think Mcgahee potentially can make a great case for himself, but for now I hope they just keep giving him the ball. Regardless of who thinks they're the best or not the bills best chance to win is to keep giving willis the rock.
  4. If I was Tom Donahoe I'd go Best available Player, and constantly look through the necessary means free agents, trade, draft for players to help improve the team I went with D. I'm not an offensive person, and not overly impressed by flashy offensive stats. I Yawn at 300 yard passing games and prefer dominant running, and solid defense that gets pressure on the quaterback and forces turnovers. Line play is the most important aspect to football anyway you slice it. Right now I have the dline as priority #1 yes even over LT. I think the draft is deep enough in tackle talent we can get a good lt in 2nd and even 3rd rd or maybe someone in free agency, but for now Gandy is a better LT then the guys we have playing dt with the exception of Sam Adams. That would be my foremost objective. A Run stoping dt ala Gabe Watson from Michigan. Massive dude who can compare to our own Sam Adams. Pass rushing defensive end and our lb is another route I'd go. I know no one would hear it but I'd look at Lavar Arrington if he gets let go by Washington. Yeah he's a free lancer, but the dude can flat out get after the quaterback. I'd definitly look for #1 run stoping dt. #2. pass rushing de/lb #3. LT # 4. run blocking te. TE. #5. Quaterback. (I wasn't a losman fan when he was in college, and while as a Bills fan I hope he has it. I haven't seen anything to say he has it. I wouldn't do it early but drafting a qb in later rounds might not be a bad idea, even if it's just someone to replace matthews and not neccessarily Losman)
  5. I am In all seriousness though I don't see the problem with what Willis said. He believes he's the best then good for him. I'd rather have someone who believes in themselves that they're that good then someone who's unsure or reserved. So he's got some swagger to him. If Mcgahee wants to toot his own horn then keep on tootin Willis, and hopefully the Bills keep on ridin the horse. Let the Raiders defense laugh and underestimate Willis. They won't be laughing come Sunday. I don't buy this "they're desperate for a win stuff" the raiders are a bad football team. If we lose that doesn't speak for the raiders being desperate that speaks to us not being good.
  6. Other then making a catch or 2 a game, I don't think campbell is much of a factor to be a threat receiving wise. He's a decent blocker, so that seems to be his primary role. Euhus I thought had decent receiving skills to be more of an option, but he seems to be injury prone. Neufeld doesn't do either or paticularly well, everett being out for the year eliminates the only other potential receiving option. It just seems like the lack of te's being a factor in this offense has more to do with the talent level and what campbell is better suited for. If we had a starting te who was a pass catching te ala antonio gates, tony gonzalez type I'm sure mularkey would use them more for receiving then blocking. Campbell just can't create enough consistent seperation from db's to be a factor, and isn't fast enough to split the seems. Although due to his size I think he has enough quickness to be used as a weapon in the redzone more often.
  7. As Much as I like Willis no back and or player in the league is even in the same realm as Ladanian Tomlinson and that includes Shaun Alexander. And to another poster Show me what nfl player isn't motivated by money? Tomlinson? Highest Paid Back in the league. It's their job. They don't play for the unis they wear they play for the $$$ from Tom Brady to the long Snapper from the arizona cardnials. if Mcgahee's motivation is getting paid and he goes crazy every week and in the process helps the bills win then so be it. GO AFTER THE MONEY Willis and Keep on riding the Horse
  8. DING DING DING!! While living in New Jersey I've gotten to see a lot of Lamont Jordan, at least when Herm decided to use him which was pretty infrequently to say the least. Jordan while he did a good job spelling martin, never struck me as a back who can handle a full load for a 16 game schedule. I liken him to backs like Troy Hambrick and Kevin Barlow, guys who were good in reserve, but as starters just can't get that extra gear to make them anything more then marginal backs at best.
  9. We should get that run stoping dt in the draft this year Gabe Watson out of Michigan. Or Rodrigue Wright from texas, but from a pure clog the hole run stopper standpoint better off drafting Watson. Wright is more of a corey simon interior pass rush type.
  10. no I really didn't watch the sd/oakland game just saw the highligts of tomlinson wide open on his td reception. Which is why I said plenty of short passes, make their backers run sideline to sideline covering rb's and te's and they can be had for the running game as the game progresses. We're definitly gonna run this game, but I just think it's a better idea to tire them out by making their backers respect the pass game forcing them into coverage which they're not good at, then having them crowd the line of scrimmage and due to the size of their front 7 I think it will be problemmatic to run.
  11. I don't think we have that much success running the football against the raiders. Their entire dline in the 4-3 base is close to over 300lbs each Bobby Hamilton-285 Ted Washington-365 (if he's only 365 I'm the toothfairy) Warren Sapp- 300 (same as Ted, he's probably close to 330-340) Tommy Kelley- 300 olb- tyler brayton- 285 Olb- Grant Irons- 285 Mlb- Danny Clark- 250 I believe rushing yards will be hard to come by, however the raiders can be had with plenty of short passes and wr screens. Make their lb's run sideline to sideline to tire them out and later in the game attack them with the run game. This is another game we should win, but the raiders are also a little better then their record indicates. I'll still be bummed if we don't win this though.

  13. "This potential rumor was first reported by PFT and is now being reported by ESPN. The Vikings would send Winfield and Chavous to New England for their 1st and 2nd round pick." Seeing how corey chavous sucks it's pretty much would be Winfield to NE for their 1st and 2nd rd pick, Although I haven't been watching ESPN so I've heard nothing to verify this rumor one way or another. I personally doubt it's validity Picked this up from kffl message board
  14. Jesus what is with some of you people. It's like you're begging for Holcomb to fail???? So you get your wish of seeing what JP can and can't do again. Now I'm not saying Holcomb is the answer, or that JP isn't the answer, at least not right now, but it just seems like some of you are just waiting like a snake in the grass, rattling waiting to strike with unmerciful venom the moment Kelly Holcomb has a bad game and we lose, in order to justify some preconcieved notion, or fixate about the kid on the bench with the "big arm". Let's just ride this thing out. Holcomb has won 2 division games, and we're in 1st place for now. We're not a team that wins because of the quaterback. The quaterback is simply a piece of the puzzle, and right now Holcomb fits the puzzle and JP is a square peg in a round hole.
  15. I'm not giving up on JP, but for the sake of arguing. Say we make the playoffs this year who does start at qb in 2006?. I know... I know too early in the season should just worry about this year, but if this scenairo does play out I think it becomes quite interesting. Do We then build a oline around Holcomb and draft some defensive depth starting dt, or go back to JP? Do We trade for a seasoned but younger qb maybe a Drew Brees perhaps? Just Wondering......
  16. quote=rtconner,Oct 17 2005, 09:53 AM]I am still profoundly confused as to why anyone would ever hate Moulds. What has they guy done to deserve any hate at all? "Stupid Moulds and his stupid 8477 recieving yards for the Bills, and his stupid 46 recieving touchdowns. I hate that guy" . ... 477870[/snapback] Well Said. I'm also profoundly confused by the way people rag on moulds and the way people raged on mcgahee. When you have a qb that can get the ball into the receivers hands they have the opportunity to make plays. We've done that and he's making plays. No the overall stats aren't sexy, but we're not the type of offense built for big passing yards anyway. Get the catchs pick up 1st downs keep the chain gang moving and pound willis away. That's our MO, and we're starting to do that well. I don't see the cause for moulds bashing.
  17. 1 Shaun Alexander SEA 715 131 5.5 12 2 LaDainian Tomlinson SD 652 133 4.9 10 3 Willis McGahee BUF 604 138 4.4 4 No it's not close however he's 6th in the league in rushing td's which isn't too shabby, and yes I agree we don't use the run game enough down in the redzone. I understand someitmes it's better to try a little dump off pass if you see an oncoming run blitz, but with the size of our oline the majority of the time we should be able to pick up 1-2 yards. Tom Clements gets way too cut on 3rd and short sometimes.
  18. I for one am definitly not suprised by this at all. Willis is the man. Not Tomlinson good but who is? Definitly top 5 and definitly better then Julius and Kevin Jones flea
  19. No Doubt about it Willis F'n Mcgahee, with honorable going to Terrence Mcgee, Mcgee is slowly winning me over as a corner. I don't think he'll ever truly be a #1 corner, but he makes plays and You have to stand up and take notice each and every ttime he returns a kickoff.
  20. GREAT KICK By Lindell. I held my breath on that one. 2nd Half our defense has to step up, we can't be letting mccerians get that open. On Offense keep pounding Willis. Whatever Tom Clements does Willis has to touch the ball a lot in the 2nd half. The way he ran in the first theres no reason he shouldn't get another 15-20 carries in the 2nd half.
  21. Good thing I traded him earlier this week for plaxico burress. I feel so smart now
  22. Julius Jones- 112 carries 407 yards 3.6ypc 3 tds. 0 100 yard games this season- 5 games Kevin Jones- 71 carries 205 yards 2.8ypc 3tds- o 100 yard games- 4 games Willis Mcgahee- 109 carries 461 yards 4.2ypcs 3tds- 2 100 yard games, To say someone is wearing "Bills glasses" when saying Mcgahee is better then Kevin or Julius isn't being a homer. It's being truthful. Considering the passing game of the cowboys and the receivers of the lions, you would think Julius and Kevin would have better ypc then willis, but they don't. I don't get why some bills fans rag on mcgahee, he's far and away our best offensive player. Yes he had 1 bad game, and yes like the rest of our offense is subject to piss poor play calling, but get a real oline here, or even decent play calling and I have no question he'd be that much better for it.
  23. Nate Clements, Terrence Mcgee, Lawyer Milloy, Troy Vincent. Moulds, and Holcomb How can anyone not mention nate he had the biggest play of the game forcing the ronnie brown fumble
  24. I don't smell what he's cookin, and hopefully we layeth the smacketh down on their roody poo candy fish asses
  25. Mcgahee, Moulds, Clements, Spikes, Milloy, Terrence Mcgee more so as a kick returner then a corner, I think he'll be a good career #2, never a #1.
