Gimme your top 5 Offensive Lines...
MartyBall4Buffalo replied to SDS's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Kansas City Seattle Denver Indy Pitt -
Schobel and Kelsay at de in a 3-4 defense? It's bad enough in a 4-3 where in run support they're basically useless. If we switch to a 3-4 I'd like to see Bannan and Denney at de. Schobel isn't anywhere strong enough to man up in a 3-4, although we do have the lb's for a 3-4 defense, we don't have a dline capable of it. Swing a trade for someone like Grady Jackson, ditch adams, draft a de, Keep Fletcher and have Crowell/Fletcher at ILB. Crowell was an ilb in a 3-4 defense in college. Spikes and posey's replacement at olb then we'd have the makings of a decent 3-4 defense.. And Dline is a far bigger concern then oline. While the oline has shown flashes, all we've seen from the dline is a bunch of backups who are proving they're backups for a reason at dt, and two "high motor de's" who rarely get pressure and get blown off the ball and are a complete non factor on runs. Lb's who have bodies on them cause our dline can't keep them off, and getting gashed week after week. The oline will be easier to fix imo. Dline is concern #1.

T. Owens Suspended Indefinitely
MartyBall4Buffalo replied to Mark VI's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
What did Owens say that was so demoralizing to the eagles? That Brett Favre is a warrior? That Mcnabb's injury is effecting team play? Was it quotes like this that hurt the eagles or maybe this..... or maybe it was this..... Don't most people believe that how your quaterback plays effects your chances of winning a game? But let's not let facts get in the way of spinning comments out of context...... -
Was Coughlin’s reputation the reason
MartyBall4Buffalo replied to Mikie2times's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
The way I remember it and I'm not exactaly sure but we had an interview scheduled with Coughlin and the next day he was suppouse to go interview for the giants job, however I believe the giants got coughlin on a plane to NYC before he ever even interviewed here, and the rest is history. Now like I said I don't really remember how the hole thing went just bits and pieces of reading kffl back then to see who we had interviews scheduled with. -
So, you guys ready for the Chiefs?
MartyBall4Buffalo replied to cmh6476's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
The chiefs offense is still pretty formidble, but their defense eh. Like our defense the chiefs dline is rather weak with solid lb's. The chiefs are a little weak in the secondary outside of pat surtain, so that's where I'd try to attack them, Although I don't know if that matters much with us, and that Lee Evans seems to be the invisible man this year. I'm not really relishing the thought of facing Larry Johnson and Priest holmes against our swiss cheese run defense. It could be a loooooooooooong day if we don't control the time of posession. But I hope for a good game and a Bills win as always.... -
So, you guys ready for the Chiefs?
MartyBall4Buffalo replied to cmh6476's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I still think KC has a chance at their division, Denver I expect to come back to the pack a little, and SD has a penchant for 4th quater choke jobs this year. I still like your chances at the west. What's the deal with Holmes concussion? Does it open the door for Larry Johnson to start or will The Priest be back? -
I'm not buying it. I might if Tucker was picked up by another team, but he hasn't been. So I'm more inclined to believe the injury reason for his release then being outspoken, but yes a healthy tucker is a better guard then bennie anderson.

he might have only had 2 tackles but LET ME TELL You..... You Can't measure a man's heart and I'll tell you... Bruschi's Heart is immense LET ME TELL YOU!!

Starting a new bandwagon
MartyBall4Buffalo replied to Mikie2times's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I'd be fine with NGATA or Gabe Watson. Either one would suffice. I really think dt is a more pressing issue with this team then the oline right now, so either one of these big run stuffers and I'm a happy camper. -
Curtis Martin never had break away speed and all he's ever done is put up 10 straight 1000 yard seasons, easily being one of the most productive running backs over the last 10 years. I'd say that's pretty damn dominant. Willis is now 2nd in the nfl in rushing by only 11 yards, and if this staff gave him the ball more earlier in the year he'd easily be in first. He might not be "as good" as he says he is, but he's still a damn good back, time to give up props to Willis. Easily the best player on our team and our only consistent source of offense. A Player that we should build around.

I believe they switched to a 4-3 cause of lack of lb talent, losing bruschi, ted johnson, and that seymour is better suited to play a 4-3 dt then he is a 3-4 de.
-
Those are the 3 I'd look at out of the 12 you listed. I'll also throw out a few morenames DT RODRIGUE WRIGHT TEXAS<~~ interior pass rush type DT GABE WATSON MICHIGAN<~~~ run stoping dt. Huge man. Kind of like Sam Adams/Ted Washington type. OT- Marcus McNeil Auburn- 6'9 337 lbs. Huge Man. Paved lanes for Caddy and Ronnie Brown. I like him more then D'brickshaw OT- Johnathan Scott Texas- Not as good as D'Brickshaw or McNeil but would be a good value pick middle of rd 1. Prototypical LT. I honestly think our biggest need is dt, but if we somehow get Marcus McNeil or D'Brickshaw we'd have our franchise LT for years to come.

Maybe Billick Will Be Available
MartyBall4Buffalo replied to RochBillsFan's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Ozzie Newsome is a great evaluator of talent. He put together a dominating defense that their anemic offense was just good enough not to !@#$ up the season. Unfortunatly I doubt we see that. I'm not a fan of Billick, but if we were going to hire a hc the first 2 guys on my list that I'd want are Denvers offensive coordinator Kubiak, or to get Charlie Weis from ND. -
To those who want to fire TD / MM
MartyBall4Buffalo replied to Albany,n.y.'s topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I know he's been offered head coaching jobs in the past and has repeatedly turned them down, but Denver Offensive Coordinator Gary Kubiak. We'd finally have a coach that knows you have to run the ball to win. If not Kubiak I could see shannahan on a tight rope in denver if they don't get over the hump this year. JP has the tools that fit that kind of offense, and they can make any rb look like the 2nd coming. Or Jim Fassel. I'm not overly high on fassel but he did have some success with the giants even getting them to the superbowl. He tired out with the giants. Maybe a new start would help them. Or another guy that's been offered head coaching jobs in the past Tampas Defensive coordinator Monte Kiffen. 10 straight years of having a top 10 defense. Unreal. I think he's one of those guys that's just happier being a coordinator, but it's just a name I'd throw out there. Oh and according to Adam Schefter there's heavy talk that some teams might try to lure Charlie Weis away from ND. He has a buyout option on his contract for a measly 1.5 million.... just sayin. As Far as gm's go I'm not really sure. I'm not all that informed about general manager positions. -
The Pain Continues as buffalo uses their last timeout......
-
It'll be same old same old. We have to maintain our gaps. Show more discipline in our scheme and things will improve
-
Like I said earlier Pathetically FLAT
-
And Corey Dillon...... Just sad, the one time we need a play from our defense and nothing.
-
A Fullback just burned our defense.....
-
Nice play by josh reed, now can our defense come up with a big play?
-
Well gee way to be optomistic, but seriousily that would just suck if it's the case
-
Tough break, but it's not like this defense can stop anyone, pathetically flat
-
Whats the deal with the punt and kick coverage units today?
-
Whose mre important to extend
MartyBall4Buffalo replied to Fake-Fat Sunny's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
While Mcgee is a very exciting player, and a good case can be made that due to his kick return abilities that he's more of a playmaker then self promoted "playmaker" Nate Clements. I just feel the gap between their cornerback play is a pretty big gap. Mcgee is a fine #2 corner, maybe even one of the better #2's in the game, but he's not close in cover ability to Nate Clements. The dropoff in pass defense losing nate and promoting terrence would be a bigger dropoff then signing nate and losing terrence. It just seems like guys like Mcgee come and go. Darrent Williams the corner Denver took seems like another terrence mcgee in the making. Justin Miller for the jets has the potential to be a pretty good kick returner as well. while true #1 corners are few and far between. Unless a corner similar to skill to clements is available in free agency or if we can drastically improve our pass rush signing Nate should be priority #1. I don't know who the free agent corners are this year, but this doesn't seem to be a case of when washington traded bailey and shawn springs (who imo is the #1 corner when healthy) fell into their lap. -
