but TO is a cancer and chemistry is better without him. Unfortunatly for the eagles they have noone who can step up and be the playmaker in owens absecne. Pinkston is gone for the year. Greg Lewis is nice for a #3 wr and Reggie Brown is a rookie posession wr. Westbrook while a good receiver out of the backfield is not a guy who you can lean on for a consistent run game, a back who could take 20-25 carries a game, and lamar gordon The Eagles lack playmakers and compounded with McChokes sports Hernia they'll limp their way to a 7-9 finish.

I was actually pulling for Mike McMahon since he went to Rutgers in my home state of New Jersey, but it was not to be thanks to reggie brown a wr I was high on coming into the draft, who grew up a Bills fan, at least thats what I remember reading articles about him around draft day. Oh well.

Leave it up to the overrated Donovan McChoke

Peter King on Nate Clements
MartyBall4Buffalo replied to PromoTheRobot's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Well you personally believe right. Clements is the cog to our secondary, and regardless of what some people think he's a top 5 corner in the nfl. I compare his game to that of Washington Corner Shawn Springs who I believe is the best corner in the league when healthy, and Clements is right up there with him. You wanna complain about people being overhyped watch Champ Bailey every once in awhile. Every corner now and then will get beat. No corner in this league will shut a wr down week in and week out, and sometimes the wr's they get beat by make you pull out your hair, but the fact is Nate Clements is the most consistent cornerback in this league when healthy, and if he leaves unless adequatly replaced by a great pass rush will be sorely missed. Mcgee is a nice #2 corner but he's no Nate Clements -
I'm pretty much tired of seeing Troy Vincent move in slow motion on the field. And Yes Baker does seem to bring that physical element which vincent lacks. Vincent might have experience and a nose for the ball, but I'd stick with Baker. I also think joseph jefferson played well today. Adams is still far and away our best dt, but I came away from this game rather happy with the young bloods up front. It seemed to be a different energy today with a bunch of younger guys playing. All in all I think we have a solid future in our secondary with mcgee/king/greer/baker and maybe re-signing clements. I'd also like to say goodbye to jeff posey. Crowell is improving every week, by the end of the year posey is easily expendable. Fletcher/Crowell/Spikes? I'll take it . Improve the dline and we'll have ourselves a good defense one again next year, and for a good amount of years to come. I like the youth on that side of the ball. I'm not really sure about the offense. Losman provided a spark today, but we'll see how he does as a starter. If he gets better week to week well then we got something, but for now I'm chalking it up to a good performance coming off the bench. We're set at rb. I'd like to see Lionel Gates get some time, Nothing against shaud williams, but we need at least another threat at runningback. The Oline needs work, finding the right mix or whatever. All in all while it wasn't terribly pretty a win is a win is a win and I'll take it.

I think given the situation of the shape our dline is in, Guys like Vincent and Milloy are left relatively ineffective. For the Most part I think Milloy still has some game left. Improve the dline and I think his play would improve dramatically. Vincent is done. I'd like to see Baker Get some playing time. What baker lacks in experience he more then makes up for in speed and ability. I'd like to see him get more playing time and cut vincent lose after this season. Not sure about the cap hit, but I just have a great feeling about Baker as our future FS. I'd draft a mid round ss or maybe someone in free agency to groom under Milloy for the last year of his contract.

5 "BILLSBALLS" Game Balls
MartyBall4Buffalo replied to Astrobot's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
1. JP Losman- provided a spark coming off the bench 2. Lee Evans- The Invisible man finally shows up 3. Angelo Crowell- Guy gets better every week, came up huge today on defense and nice plays on special teams, guy is a player 4. London Fletcher- Played probably his best game of the season today 5. Rashad Baker- I love this kid. When Vincent's gone Baker is gonna be a player. Honorable Mention: I left the dline off because of their first half performance against the run, but their 2nd half performance was stout, They did an admirable job -
losman to get some looks
MartyBall4Buffalo replied to Schulman16's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
he needs to learn to take some of the mustard off the ball on his short passes. He improves in this area and I think we'll see a much more improved losman and find out why we traded up to draft him. -
We're gonna need at least one good drive offensivly to ice this game

Kelly Holcomb, I'm not much of a stats guy, just go off what I've seen. I'm not a draft guru nor do I care what we gave up for losman, as I feel it doesn't matter, and you play who gives your team the best chance to win. Right now I feel Holcomb gives the bills a significantly better chance to win and be competative then losman. This is a hard question to answer in the sense that some people tend to be placing too much blame of the quaterback position as if it's the difference for this team being good or bad. It's really not. Our defense is woefully inadequate especially against the run, our oline is inconsistent at best and other times looks rather bad. However I think given the circumstances of our oline, and questionable play calling Holcomb has managed to play well. Losman should've never been handed the job right off the bat. I'm a believer in regardless of draft position you play the best player, Holcomb has proven he's better then Losman. If/When we're out of contention fine put losman back in, however if when he goes back in over that course of games he shows no improvement then you cut your losses. If he's still struggling to throw for even 80 yards you cut rope. No sense in wasting more time on someone that bad. If Losman doesn't get time to play because we're in it till the end of the season, but don't make it I also wouldn't hand him the job next season. I'd build the dline, and oline through free agnecy and the draft, and have an open comp between Holcomb and Losman to open training camp and into preseason. If Losman is as good as some say he is then this is the only fair way to do it, and if his ego is so fragile that being bench "ruined" him well then he's not a guy I want to see as our "savoir franchise quaterback" Losman will eventually get his chance to prove his worth and I hope he's up to the task but I'm not gonna cover the guy in a shroud just because we drafted him in the 1st. Losman doesn't have to be some miracle worker. Just improve his accuracy, and lean on mcgahee. Improving the oline, dline, and getting Evrett Healthy for the end of the season into next might do Losman a world of good.

This is great news. The Beginning of the end for cement shoes campbell. Finally we'll get someone with speed and athleticisim at the te position. Obviousily I don't expect a huge impact just enough to see what we have for the future at the te position. Someone with the speed to stretch the seems and be a good receiving option which we currently do not have. I've been looking foward to seeing Everett since we drafted him. Just another reason to keep on watching....

this years colts team reminds me of the 2003 chiefs who started out 9-0 only to lose @ cincy after chad johnson guranteed victory. I dont like indy's 2nd half schedule to go undefeated so I have to say No.

They let ne run an extra play when time was over and Flutie got sacked and fumbled lmao that was amusing

Carolina Looks Like The Team In The NFC
MartyBall4Buffalo replied to Mark VI's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Superbowl- Carolina over Indy While The giants are making some noise, like someone else pointed out they do well against lower tier teams, once they hit the playoffs their defense will be exposed. They don't really get to the quaterback, and their secondary will have plenty of problems should they run into the sehawks, or panthers. I had a hard time choosing between seattle and carolina. Shaun Alexander is having an amazing year, and their receivers are holding onto the ball, but Carolina is the whole deal. While Stephen davis doesn't get many rushing yards, John Fox understands the value of patience. A Good running game isn't just running a whole lot of yards. It's putting in attempts regardless of the yardage gained in order to keep defenses honest. Their defense is playing beetter every week, and Delhomme is quietly once again putting together another good season, There's not anough good things you can say about Steve Smith right now. The guy's on fire. In The AFC I can't pick Denver, yeah they've looked good so far, but they've also started 5-1 the past few years only to finish 10-6 and get owned in the playoffs. Depending how the 2nd half of the season goes... Personally I still think it's Jake Plummer and they'll fade. If Indy doesn't win it this year they never will. The AFC just seems to be considerably weaker then the NFC this season. Almost a reversal of roles, and Indy seems to be the best of a bad lot, but still a very good team. -
Hey Travis when do you report back to the Titans?

So, you guys ready for the Chiefs?
MartyBall4Buffalo replied to cmh6476's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
That Tripping call was pretty bad as Shields basically wrestled the defender to the ground Blatant Holding, however oakland desereved the loss with that horrible non coverage of Larry Johnson. As Far as next week goes I'm always ready for a Bills game. We'll have a tough time trying to stop LJ or Priest or both. The game plan has to be give Mcgahee the ball. Control the clock, and keep the chiefs off the field, while managing to score points. We'll see. Good win for you guys today though and best of luck next week, but I hope you lose -
Gimme your top 5 Defensive Lines...
MartyBall4Buffalo replied to SDS's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Chicago Carolina Indy Tampa Jacksonville -
Yeah It's TO's fault Philly has no run game........ And their defense isn't as good. Last season Yes TO was the type of big play explosive wr they needed to reach the superbowl. Yes I know they won the nfc championship game without him, but They did lack an explosive playmaker at wr, Owens was that guy. He had a great superbowl in a losing effort, and now when the lack of a philly run game is exposed, and their defense isn't quite as good, things start to sour. So I Stick by my observation if we needed an explosive big time wr, and that was our only missing piece for a superbowl run I wouldn't think twice about Taking TO for league minimum salary for a season.
-
I guess not... lol One of my friends who's a chiefs fan told me johnson wore different socks so I figured I'd take his word for it
-
If we had all the pieces in places for a superbowl run and a WR would put us over the top, like it basically did with philly last season then yes I'd take TO. There's no denying the guys talent, but when things go bad he'll let you hear about it. You take the good with the bad. I love the guy's talent and what he does on the field, and while I'm a big time Owens fan the fight with Hugh Douglas was too much. I'd take for a year if we had a chance at a superbowl then dump him, cause when you're down he'll make your team your organization and the fans miserable, but damn Can he play some football.

lmao MY GOD THAT HORRIBLE PLAYER WEARING DIFFERENT SOCKS!!!! Larry Johnson wore different socks in the chiefs game today as well. I wonder if they think he's a bad team player.........

POLL: If you could pick first overall....
MartyBall4Buffalo replied to BravinSeattle's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Ahh stupid me I just realized it was non team specific question In that case Reggie Bush. That guy is crazy good. There was a stat yesterday during the USC game he scores a td once every 12.5 touches. That's just sick. If Not Bush Then Leinart. Forget the talent he has around him when it matters the guy just makes plays to win. Although he doesn't have the strongest arm. His arm strength is compareable to that of Chad Pennington, but he knows where to go with the ball at all times. Very Accurate nice touch on his passes and allows his receivers to make plays. -
POLL: If you could pick first overall....
MartyBall4Buffalo replied to BravinSeattle's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I'd trade down for more picks. I'm willing to give Losman a chance to see what he has, I'd trade down to the middle of rd 1 stockpile picks for next year and draft De Mario Williams or DT Ngata -
Year Team G GS Pen Yds False Start Holding Sacks Allwd Yds 2005 Buf 6 4 0 0 0 0 4.00 38.00 - Mike Williams 2005 Buf 7 7 0 0 0 0 0.50 4.50 - Chris Villarrial 2005 Buf 8 8 2 15 1 1 0.50 8.00 - Trey Teague 2005 Buf 8 8 6 47 3 2 4.00 39.50 - Bennie Anderson 2005 Buf 8 8 5 44 0 5 2.00 18.00 - Mike Gandy Thought this would be an intresting makeup to see who's responsible for giving up sacks and committing penalties. The Right side of our line seems pretty solid as far as not giving up penalties. Big Mike has to get better with pass protection 4 starts and 4 sacks given up.... . Villarrial seems solid in both areas. Teague seems average. I figured Teague would have been credited with giving up more then .50 sacks. Bennie Anderson commits too many penalties and for a man his size playing guard has given up too many sacks. Mike Gandy is pretty much where I expected. I also looked up Mcgahee's rushing stats to see where he gains more yards to the left/middle/right. It's pretty split even. His higher ypc avg seems to be rushing to the left side of the line where he has 45 rushes for 227 yards 2 tds and a 5 ypc average. He's run the most up the middle 78 times for 282 yards and a 3.6ypc average. To the right he's ran 39 times for 187 yards for 4.8ypc and 2 td's. Basically what this tells me is we either run too much up the middle or that's where we need to improve our line as far as run blocking though. Maybe get a center who can get push in the run game. While Teague hasn't played bad, his run blocking leaves something to be desired. Bennie Anderson needs to be replaced. Mike Gandy can stick around maybe move him to guard where he's more of a natural athlete. He's quick enough where we could pull him on traps and counters, which I don't see done with Bennie Anderson. I don't see LT as our biggest need offensivly the biggest weakness seems to be the interior of the line center/lg. I'd play peters a little more as the season goes on see where he stands as far as a future lt with us. Let the Duke get some time at center and I think we'll have the makings of a good oline. Stuff like this doesn't really tell you much about blocking assignments etc, but as someone pointed out the other day maybe we need to get away from having huge linemen and instead go the denver route get smaller more athletic olinemen. But I don't think the entire oline has to be blown up. I also don't think Oline is our biggest need. The Defensive Line on the other hand is where we need the most help

Tripping on the Raiders
MartyBall4Buffalo replied to \GoBillsInDallas/'s topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
It was a bs call, but the raiders still had a chance to hold them. Leaving Larry Johnson that open with that much field to run was just sad and because of that they deserved to lose. Plus I have Larry Johnson on my fantasy team
