Yup 100% correct. He's exactaly like chad pennington. Smart and accurate, but a noodle arm. Reggie Bush is a freak, but I think Lendall White doesn't get his just due. He's gonna make a pretty damn good nfl tailback in his own right.

Is Willis really the best Draft move TD
MartyBall4Buffalo replied to Mikie2times's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I think Willis was good value, and getting the pick in itself was a ripoff. I honestly don't see much of a difference though between Willis and Larry Johnson other then the lines they run behind, but basically I think they're the same type of running back. As far as the best move TD ever made I'd have to go with Spikes. -
Did Willis steal your lunch money back in the day? All these suppoused "great backs" have very good offensive line. Shaun Alexander has Hutchinson and Walter Jones, Larry Johnson has Willie Roaf, Brian Water, Will shields, John Welbourne, tiki barber has luke pettigut, chris snee, kareem mckenzie, Mcgahee has Mike Gandy and Bennie Anderson...... The disparity there is pretty large. I don't know the cause or your crusade against Willis but the act is getting tired. Another common factor in these suppoused "great backs" is they have a semblence of a passing game. Off the top of my head the only top half rb's yardage wise that have a bad passing game are Thomas Jones and Mcgahee. Now I'm not saying Willis is great, He's a top 10-15 guy right now with potential to get better. Let's see where he's at if we develop some sort of passing game.

You respond like this in the past 7 years the rams haven't had an offense rank lower then 10th in the league. His system works. Yes as a head coach he's flawed, but as an offensive coordinator I don't see how bringing in martz is a bad idea at all. That offensive system just works. The chiefs/rams are the proof of it.

Trent Green, Brad Johnson, Kurt Warner, Marc Bulger..... what do these guys have in common? At one time they all worked under the tutelage of one Mike Martz. Now I'm not saying I want Martz as a head coach, but I'd gladly take him as an offensive coordinator. He's great with quaterbacks. If we had a head coach who would limit the absurdity of his playcalling ala Dick Vermeil in St. Louis I'd gladly take Mike Martz. He simply knows how to mold a great offense.

2004 | Mark Campbell | 12 | 17 203 11.9 5 | | Tim Euhus | 12 | 11 98 8.9 2 | | Ryan Neufeld | 16 | 6 61 10.2 0 | 34 receptions to te's. What you see is what you get. None of these people would be used any differently on any other team. Mark Campbells career high in receptions is 34 a career high in 2003. Averaging out to a full 16 game season last year he would've had 23 catches. Do you want mularkey to have his qb's throw passes to ryan neufeld? None of these te's are guys who you can use consistently as a receiving threat. Campbell I think would provide a decent redzone target, but he's not a te that will give you 40-50 receptions a year. Now onto Kevin Everett. Everett brings a much different aspect to the game then any of the te's currently on our roster. He's faster then all of them for one, way more athletic, on paper he brings the dimensions of the prototypical te of todays nfl. Has the speed to split the seems, and to lineup at wr, ala antonio gates/gonzalez/shockey and gives a qb a reliable option when his 1st or 2nd read isn't open and has to get rid of it. We'll find out how much mularkey uses the te in this offense with everett.

Exerpt from Greg Easterbrook Column
MartyBall4Buffalo replied to fairweather fan's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
That's already the problem. Our line is too big, this strategy works on defense, to clog running lanes, but as far as offensive line goes, it's better to have smaller more athletic linemen. Our line is already quite large. I believe we have the 2nd largest oline in the league next to the vikings. It's better to have the more athletic linemen who won't trip over their own legs. Linemen who can drive block for running plays, and move their feet in pass protection. -

Go Ask Roy Williams the detroit wr not the dallas safety what he thinks of jeff garcia. Garcia is flat out horrible. Harrington has been a bust because he's not a wco qb, and mooch is too set in his system or nothing to change his ways. I still believe Harrington will make it in the nfl, given a better coach, which there is plenty of coaches better then mooch. -
Steve Mariucci fired by Lions

Joey Harrington, Kevin Jones, Charles Rogers, Roy Williams, Mike Williams, THE NFC NORTH A 15-28 record the last 3 years. 32ND, 26TH, 27TH ranked offenses, 21st, 22nd, 11th ranked defense. Just SAY NO TO MOOCH. -
Lot to be positive about this game
MartyBall4Buffalo replied to Pine Barrens Mafia's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
The Defense is so abysmal they only alllowed 13 points to a team many consider the class of the nfc...... Look I know the defense allows really long drives, and against a team like carolina the last thing you want to do is allow their defense to stay fresh, and the dline definitly needs to be improved, but the d played well today against a good team, and Held the nfl's leading receiver in check. When you allow only 13 points you should win in this league. Mularkey was brought in to make this offense better, but due to lack of quality offensive linemen and suspect playcalling we have gotten progressivly worse on that side of the ball. -

Who's going to chew up Clements more?
MartyBall4Buffalo replied to #41's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I wouldn't put McGee in the top 20. But somehwere between 20-30. Mcgee gets burned too much for my liking especially on intermediate routes. Granted it's hard to judge corners on the team this year, but I just don't think he's very good at the intermediate stuff. However he does make plays. Great Kick returner, but by no means a top cornerback, but good enough for a #2. They don't get better then Nate Clements, despite the rampant Clements bashing that seems to be going on, There is maybe 1-2 other guys on his level. Bailey get's beat deep rather consistently, but no one will realize this cause of the broncos record, but he doesn't have clements man to man cover ability. Bailey is the prototypical zone corner. The only corners I'd take over Clements are Ty Law, and Shawn Springs. I'd still have to go with Nate due to Law's age and Springs inability to stay healthy.
