  1. Torry Holt hands down
  2. Ngata. I'm a firm believer you build from the inside out. You win by running the football and stoping the run. The single most important position on defense is defensive tackle. I'm not of the opinion you need franchise type tackles to be good, I also prefer building an oline from the inside out. If both are available I'll take ngata. Brickshaw isn't really high on my list. I get it he's a tremendous pass blocker. To me he's just too finese and will be a liability in the run game.
  3. Kevin Simon 5'11 234 Tennesse. Seems to be a prototypical type mlb for a cover 2 defense. Flies around the field. Good in coverage. Has durability issues. Missed 3 seasons to knee injuries and an ankle surgery. Could turn out to be a boom or bust type. Probably would have to be cleared by a teams medical staff. Extremely talented though. Gerris Wilkinson Georgia Tech is a bit taller at 6'4 235 and a tremendous run stopping lb. Great tackler. Good speed, but not good in coverage. Abdul Hodge Iowa 6'2 234 might make it to the early 3rd. Tremendous hitter, good tackler, just ok in coverage. Seems to always be around the ball Olb Ernie Sims FSU 6' 200lbs. Small I know but pretty damn fast. Sideline to sideline backer, and good strength for his size. Could excell in the right system Thomas Howard UTEP. 6'3 240. Excellent blitzer, great in coverage. Amazing speed. Not the greatest tackler. Still developing as he came to UTEP as a walkon safety. some other names. Terna Nande Miami of OH. 6'1 230, Roger Mcintosh 6'3 237 Miami Fl
  4. If gabe watson is there even if we take ngata in the 1st yeah I'd like to get watson as well. It would pretty much on paper set us at dt. we could use our 2 3rd round picks on linemen such as jeremey trueblood, jason spitz, kevin boothe. There will still be quality olinemen avaibale. The chance to grab 2 potential great dt's is something you dont take lightly.
  5. I still wouldn't want kyle vanden bosch. He seems decent, but he'll be pretty hard pressed to duplicate this past years performance. Good for the titans for retaining an average player. I actually want better then that here.
  6. I thought it would be a good idea in comparing wr's to compare them to the rest of there class. For this I'll just use the 2004 1st rd class of wr's So compared to the 7 wrs taken in the 2004 nfl draft in the first rd evans ranks 4th in catches. 2nd in yards. 1st in ypc (I'm not counting woods due to only having 7 catches). and 2nd(T) in td's. Overall compared to the 2004 wr class I think we got a damn good player. It could be argued that it looks even better for evans due to how porous our offense has been. I dont think evans has reached his ceiling yet, with commitment to building the oline, and backed by a viable te threat I believe Evans can excell in the event we lose moulds.
  7. If we lose clements hell yes I'd be happy to get ty law. However he probably is looking for big money, I hear he's looking for around a 10 million dollar bonus in guranteed money, but again if we dont keep clements hell yes I'd be happy to get ty law!!!!
  8. Personally I liked th part about where does mcgahee fit in. "That the coacing staff is on the same page about this. He's essential" "11 teams had fewer rushing attempts then the bills last season. 10 of them had losing records" At face values seem like a verbal commitment to run the ball. Stuff I love to hear
  9. exactaly, without that retinal problem peerless would've made something out of his post buffalo career. About Lee Evans. I think Evans is better then price ever was or will be, He has the potential to be a very good #1. Remember we're talking about a team in Buffalo that was never really known for any great wr stats. Theres no wr I can recall in the history of this team that's ever led the league even for a year in receiving yards. Andre Reed as good of a career he had never finished better then 5th in any season of his career in any receiving catagory. When you think of great receivers, no one from buffalo past or present jumps out. Evans has the potential to be a very productive wr, I dont necessarily think he needs moulds opposite him, but a strong running game and another receiving threat paticularly a te to work underneath and stretch the seems so teams dont roll safeties towards him, will be very beneficial to Evans career as a Bill.
  10. Actually Lavar Arrington received more playing time as the season went on, and generally played well within the scheme. While it's true he's been known as a freelancer, if you use arrington primarly to do what he does best, get after the quaterback he can be a tremendous asset to your team. Not saying buffalo is the right situation for arrington. I think eventually he'll turn out great in gregg williams scheme, just that if the opportunity presened itself. I'd definitly be for it.
  11. I agree, and I hope Losman shows progress, enough that he beats out Holcomb for the job, and I'll gladly take the growing pains of a qb with only 8 starts under the belt. I didn't mean to imply that he has to be some type of world beater, just show enough that he can at least give us as good of a chance as the guy he's competing against in Holcomb. I dont think thats too much to ask at this point in time.
  12. If Losman cant beat out Holcomb come training camp this time around, that will pretty much seal losmans fate as a non factor in the future of the bills. Save the stuff about not getting time, and being injured, by now he's had more then enough reps, and practice time to compete, if he can't do it time to look elsewhere. I wouldn't be opposed to bringing in a Jon Kitna, or Steve Mcnair once the titans more then likely release him. Both are better options. I also wouldn't mind Holcomb, if we improve the lines. I hope the kid improves enough to take the job and run with it though. It would indeed be beneficial to the future of this team, but if he doesnt I wont be losing sleep about it.
  13. I for one hope if we were to trade a 26 year old highly regarded cb we'd get a lot more then a 38 year old dt.
  14. Lutui is a guy I've been pimping lately I like it, but more then likely he'll be gone by mid 2nd rd. I'm not a big fan of winston. I dont see the ruboff of grady jackson to sam adams. I'd rather keep adams, as he's already under contract and will come cheaper. I believe grady jackson stated last year he wants to be paid pat williams money. If thats the case I'll stick with adams for the last year of his contract, while going after a ryan pickett and maybe a draft pick as well. Vernon Davis eh. He's a hell of an athlete, but I still say Marcedes Lewis is better, and will turn out to be the better pro. Lewis also offers the prototypical te size, and can stretch the field just as well as Davis. Davis imo is more of a workout warrior type, while Lewis is the better football player. I love the tapp pick. Pat Watkins could turn out great or he could bomb out. He's got prototypical size and speed of a premiere safety, but That of a fs I'd be looking for more a ss type. Someones like Georgias Greg Blue or NC St. Marcus Hudson. Dont know much about Gordon, I like the brad smith as a randle el type project pick and the jerious norwood pick also I like.
  15. this argument again. Once again Larry Johnson runs of 20+ yards- 19. Runs of 40+ yards- 3 Willis Mcgahee runs of 20+ yards- 14. Runs of 40+ yards- 1 There doesn't seem to be some huge difference in game speed to me. It seems more an issue of runs between 5-10 yards, and that I base primarly on offensive lines, moreso then the ability of a back.
  16. Yeah cause Larry Johnson would've had willie roaf, brian waters, casey weigham, will shields, and john welbourne to run behind here, and a consistent qb in trent green, and been part of overall the nfl's most productive offense since 2001, just sayin
  17. A couple things 1. We need a backup to Mcgahee who if need be could take carries. Someone like a rock carwright, ron dayne, lamar gordon type. 2. We need a fb. Daimon Shelton is aging very slow, not much of a viable receiving threat. I'd look to the draft to fill this need someone like lawrence vickers. 3. Greg Eslinger kind of reminds me of a younger trey teague. Undersized, not very strong. Probably would be good in a zone blocking scheme. Wont blow anyone off the ball. Liability in the run game. 4. Steve Hutchinson is more then likely a pipe dream. I cant see seattle letting him go. Probably more likely we go after Lecharles Bentley and draft someone like Taitusi Lutui. 5. I think we keep Adams for another year. Then I'd re-sign Ron Edwards. As much as I like Ted Washington. Realisticaly we can't count on a 38 year old dt. We're aging on that side of the ball already, were we need to get younger. 6. If we sign Will Demps Troy Vincent is gone. I cant see Vincent agreeing to stay here and be a backup. 7. It cant be put off much longer but we need depth on defense. We gotta get younger on that side of the ball. Future replacements for guys like adams, fletcher, milloy, vincent. 8. I like the tapp pick.
  18. The Chargers trading for John Abraham makes absolutly zero sense for them. 1. Drew Brees is coming off a bad shoulder injury. In the event he doesnt come back to form I doubt AJ Smith would want to trade away the guy they picked 1st overall. 2. Steve Foley has been a fairly productive player for the Chargers, with 14.5 sacks the last 2 years. 10 in 2004... 4.5 this past season. 3. John Abraham hasn't played as a stand up backer since his college days. I'm sure he could make the transition, but he's better suited to be a 4-3 de. 4. Not to mention the Chargers have Shawn Merriman they dont need to throw a bunch of money at abraham when they have more pressing needs in the secondary.
  19. Willis was just happy to be there
  20. What makes you think Stamer is a better lb? I get Crowell. I think he proved a lot this year, and will be a valuable player in the future, but Stamer? I havent seen anything out of him as far as a lb to say he's better then posey. Stamer is a good st's player though. Edit I like that this guy broke down a well organized blue print, but he's dreaming if he thinks we can get bentley backus, and a grady jackson. Im not overly fond of his draft either. A Safety and a corner as 2 of our 1st 3 picks..... ehh not unless the corner is antonio cromarite lasting till the 3rd will I sleep easy with that. Personally I'd go 1.- Ngata- dt oregon 2.- Tutusiu Lutui- g usc 3a- jeremy trueblood t bc 3b- Nick Mangold c osu Adress the lines right off the bat with our first 4 picks.
  21. And if it happened to a team that was playing the bills we'd be happy as hell. It works both ways. People see what they want to see.
  22. Are Nfl games fixed? No I seriousily doubt it. Theres too many people involved, too many variables, and situations to go over to script a nfl game, let alone an entire season for that to work. Were there some bad calls? Of course theres always bad calls. Football is a game officated by humans with the exception of instant replay, but still prone to human eyes and the judgement of the paticular ref making the call. I might be naive, but simply put good teams overcome bad calls, seattle didn't. They had plenty of chances, and simply didn't get it done.
  23. Friggen funny ass stuff. Unfortunatly living in Northern New Jersey I see people like this on a basis. As a Italian from New Jersey I am thoroughly embarrsed, the sad sh-- is girls look for orange tanned trash no personality, follow the trend wops like that, instead of people with their own actual idenity. They also give a bad name to this state. Not that it needed anything more to be sad about besides smelling like garbage, and being known as "the place next to nyc".
  24. Great run by fast willie parker, and great blocking allowing him to spring that run.
  25. In all fairness Seattle should be up at least 14-0 right now. That Darrel Jackson "push off" was a horrible call. They also should've reviewed the last djack "Td". The Roethlisberger td was not a td. I feel for seattle it's difficult to win games when you have to face the steelers and the refs.
