  1. I believe Fonoti signed with the Raiders, as far as Overpaying for pickett I have to disagree. If we're gonna overpay for a dt I'd rather it be rocky bernard. Bernard is quickly establishing himself as a great defensive tackle, where as pickett just isnt at that level, and I doubt he ever will be. Bernard/Triplett would be a much better tandem then pickett/triplett.
  2. I hear Toyota is sturdy and reliable but is known to have a high motor that burns out quickly http://www.consumeraffairs.com/automotive/toyota_engine.html
  3. I agreee, but you know if apples were oranges. Theres still a lot of good players in this draft. We're more then one Super Mario away.
  4. I'd love Mario Williams but it would take a lot to move up. Too many holes to fill. I'd rather keep our 4 1st day picks.
  5. Unfortunatly it isn't the "sexy" thing to do bringing in big horses to play in the trenches. It doesn't sell tickets or merchandise. Of course it's the most important thing in football, but I get the feeling a lot of these front offices would rather have the great qb, lb, rb, etc etc, then the bodies in the trenches to do a silly thing like actually win football games. It's been far too long since we've had a competant line, and so far I dont see that changing. It's early in free agency, and we have 4 picks in the first 3 rounds, so I wont get all bent out of shape at least until after the draft.
  6. So Basically what you're saying is Moulds will join a team that needs a wr if he's cut.....
  7. I'm not a qb aficionado, but I felt Phillip Rivers would turn out to be the best qb from that draft, It's a risky thing to do letting Brees go, but I gotta think they weren't all that confident about Brees returning to form. I guess we'll find out soon enough.
  8. Saints | Six-year deal reached with Brees Tue, 14 Mar 2006 10:45:18 -0800 Jay Glazer, of FOXSports.com, reports the New Orleans Saints have reached a six-year deal with free agent QB Drew Brees (Chargers). Financial terms of the deal are not yet available. That didn't take very long. Looks like the Saints will draft Super Mario now
  9. stop trying to make sense. FWIW though I wouldn't give up moulds and a 2nd for Schaub, but I would give up a 4th for Schaub. Moulds and a 2nd just seems like too high a price. I'm pretty high on Matt Schaub. I felt he was the qb we should've drafted in 03 to begin with, and given the chance I think he'll be a good starter at least better then JP Losman. For a 2nd/Moulds not worth it. If that would be their asking price I'd rather draft Charlie Whitehurst or Brodie Croyle in the 3rd, but for a 4th I'd do it yesterday.
  10. I'd much rather have brees and his surgically re-paired shoulder then Culpepper playing for Miami. Culpepper has had one down season, playing without a running game, or randy moss. With the Likes of Ronnie Brown, Randy McMicael, Chris Chambers possibly ricky williams, and his ability to beat you with his arm and legs It could turn out to be a nightmare for us. Not the sharpest tool in the shed, but he's a great quaterback, and eons better then the schmoes we have.
  11. I was just about to post this. Way to have heads up. I hope we have a real chance at him and this isnt just a curtesy visit cause of kollar, cause it would be nice to get him, and not be pigeon held in the draft.
  12. While I think this is a realistic trade offer, I dont see it. The bears have been talking about moving Haynes to defensive tackle, now if we can get him and do that he might have some value to us, as a defensive end haynes leaves a lot to be desired.
  13. thats due to the cba and Bidwell being the cheapest owner in the league. I'm a little suprised they went out and got edge, but I doubt they try to make any more splash signings, or re-sign any of their own prominent free agents. I dont know his contract but if we dont get a safety this year I'd love to get Adrian Wilson from the cards.
  14. Considering he wasnt their top receiver I think they're pretty decent #'s. I just dont understand the Holcomb bashing. So What he doesnt have a strong arm. If thats what you need to be a good qb lets go sign Jeff George. I dont think he's doing much these days. I'd rather my qb be efficient then just have a roket arm cause big plays look pretty.
  15. The Redskins might be overaying their signings but they are getting players they can use. They went from having 1 wr to now 3 that they can use and be effective, andre carter is also better then any de on their roster. Archuletta is crap.
  16. so let me get this straight. Randle El gets 7 years 31 million for 35 lousy catches but bryant gets Antonio Bryant agreed to a four-year, $15 million deal with the 49ers that included a signing bonus in excess of $5 million. The irony of Bryant's signing is that the 49ers tried to sign his replacement in Cleveland, Joe Jurevicius. Yeah the redskins didn't overpay for ARE at all.
  17. Yeah cause you know he didnt put up stats with kelly holcomb or anything like in 2002 Andre Davis | 16 | 3 7 2.3 0 | 37 420 11.4 6 or 2003 Andre Davis | 16 | 5 28 5.6 0 | 40 576 14.4 5 but lets not let a silly thing like stats get in the way of a good kelly holcomb bashing
  18. Ron Edwards is from Texas A&M as well. So yeah the point is valid
  19. 1. Mario Williams= Would be my dream. This guy is going to be an absolute monster. Would make Schobel even better and instantly upgrade our pass rush, and enbale us to use Chris Kelsay in a better role. On the bench 2. DbrickShaw Ferguson- Great Pass Protector, so/so run blocker, not my favorite more finese type player, but you can teach run blocking easier then pass blocking. 3. Reggie Bush- AKA The President. Reggie Bush imo while he's a great and exciting homerun threat Im just not sold he can be an everydown back, but his value as a rb, receiving threat, and kick returner is unparalleled. Would thrive in a system that already has a good running back. 4. Vernon Davis- Athletic Freak, fast as hell and a potential all star nfl te. While I'm not his biggest fan his #'s are off the charts. For that alone the risk might be worth the reward. Although I still Say Marcedes Lewis>>Vernon Davis 5. Matt Leinart- Not your prototypical franchise type all star qb, but he's going to get the job done, and you can definitly build around him. A Winner. Best qb in the draft. 6. AJ Hawk- He's a beast. He's definitly no Andy Katzenmoyer. Flys all over the field and makes plays, will make some team very happy. 7. Michael Huff- I've stated numerous times this is a safety deep draft, and well this is the creme de le crem of that bunch. Blazing fast a ballhawk and true playmaker. A Guy you can build your defense around and you can even use him at corner. Depending what other dt we bring in here he's quickly climbing my chart for the guy I want picked at 8. 8. Broderick Bunkley- Strong...Strong...Strong....Nasty interior defensive tackle who just makes plays. He's a terror to offensive linemen will rarely get overpowered and will be a terror in an offensive backfield. Blows up plays routinely. If we dont sign another dt in free agency this is the guy I want.

Seattle had the best dline last season. Bernard is a relatively young and pretty damn good player.
  21. I have this vision of Rocky bernard dressed up like an old school sleuth coming into the airport and getting into a waiting limo all Incognito
  22. John McClain, of the Houston Chronicle, reports free agent WR David Givens (Patriots) has canceled his visit with the Houston Texans Sunday, March 12. Reports out of New England late Saturday evening, March 11, were that Givens had decided to re-sign with the New England Patriots. It doesnt seem like anything offical to me. We'll see though. I'd really like to get givens in the event we lose moulds
  23. Bills | Team will visit with McCown Sat, 11 Mar 2006 23:59:18 -0800 Kevin Seifert, of the Star Tribune, reports the Buffalo Bills plan to visit with free agent QB Josh McCown (Cardinals) at a later date. Not bad not bad at all. McCown has some talent could bring him in and compete with losman and holcomb.
  24. I actually thought he was gonna turn out to be good after the 2000 season when he put up near 700 yards and 3 tds.
  25. Not true. Spencer is damn near 350lbs. Lutui measured in at about 315 which is why his stock shot up. He does have weight concerns this is true, but lutui is a big reason for the sucess of lendale white and reggie bush. I am a little quick to rush to judgement as I dont see much Pitt games, so this could be why I prefer lutui over Spencer. Either way the interior of the oline needs to be upgraded
