  1. I'd take nothing lower then a 4th for moulds. I think Moulds will have trade value even though his cap hit is high. If he's traded to a good team he'll be willing to re-do his deal more then likely. On a good team he's easily 1200 yard 80+ catch wr. He'll have value for a team looking for a wr such as... KC,DEN,Philly,The Vikings, NE(although I would under no circumstances trade him to ne unless they're ponying up a 1st rd pick)
  2. Larry Allen would be awesome. We can pair him up with Ruben Brown and maybe extend Jim Kelly's and TT's career's a few more seasons..... Oh wait it's 2006.
  3. Pretty much spot on in that I share the same opinion. Like you I'm willing to see if Losman can imrprove if that what the coaching staff decides to do. Losman has a lot of raw talent. Unfortunatly I think he lacks it up stairs. The Ability to stand in there and avoid pressure without taking off. The Ability to hit check downs if the big play isn't available. To be able to read defenses pre snap, to have a general idea who will be where. Playing quaterback is a feeling out process. It's more then having the arm or quick release. It's knowing how the defense lines up, where your main receiver will be, Where to throw the ball, when to check down. When to take the chance. No one disputes Losmans ability for the deep ball. He has great touch on his deep passes, and the mobility to do damage with his legs. Unfortunatly he doesnt have the awareness to do much else that is required. In essence he's a young Jake Plummer.
  4. Just a guess but I'll assume he'll be starting. ESPN.com's John Clayton reports OL Melvin Fowler reached a three-year, $7.2 million contract agreement with the Buffalo Bills. He will probably take over the starting center job for free agent OC Trey Teague (Bills), who is not expected to re-sign. Now granted I haven't seen Fowler play much but when I've seen him play he seemed pretty good. Plays nasty and able to his own. I think he's an upgrade from teague.
  5. I think Israel Idonije is going to be signed with the mindset of the coaching staff of letting him compete with chris kelsay for the starting job, and someone who could also slide inside and play dt as well. He's a bit of a raw product, but given that Chris Kelsay has been nothing more then underwhelming Israel will get every chance to compete for that job. I like the posters above me feeling that Neal and Wells are in Marvs plan. To get both of them would be great. They're both young an athletic a complete 180 from our current 2 starting guards. I wouldn't miss villarrial or fat bennie one bit, and depth could be had through the draft. The interior of our oline is the weakest part of it and getting rid of bennie/teague/villarrial and replacing them with neal/draft pick/wells would be a big step in the right direction.
  6. 1. I wish people would stop doing this. Who cares if they came from a certain team. He's a good player as is bledsoe as is Milloy. Just cause Bledsoe didn't work out here, doesn't not make him a good player. Milloy is a also a good safety. 2. He didn't play football in college so that explains that. He was however a college championship Wrestler. He's quick and good in space, very good with his hands blocking people out of the hole, and quite able to pull something fat bennie isn't able to do. 3. Wrong. http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/football/nfl/players/5862/ Year Team G GS 2002 N 2 1 2004 NE 16 14 2005 NE 16 16 Totals: 34 31
  7. I like the move from a competition standpoint and that he's better then shane matthews. One less spot to fill via the draft.
  8. Ehh the big misconseption. BIG AND FAT= Run Stoping Not fat= Penetrating. Broderick Bunkley can do both and do both quit well. He's as strong as an ox, can hold point or penetrate gaps. A Penetrating dt does not just mean pass rushing. Penetrating gaps also blows away running lanes, and of course forces qbs to make quicker decisions. Bunkley and I'm no Mel Kiper would be a better fit for the style of defense the bills coaching staff wants to run. Perry Fewell needs his Tommie Harris. Bunkley looks like he'd fit that Bill.
  9. I understand what you're saying but you shouldnt draft for need imo. Especially if you're a team who's more then one player away you should always draft best available player. If Leinart happens to fall to 8 I wouldnt argue with picking him if guys like ngata, mario williams, dbrick, etc were all gone. The last thing you should ever do in a draft is reach because it's a need. Nothing personal but I dont see all the hoopla with Losman. In the games he's played he's had exactaly 2 good quaters of football. The 2nd quater in the kc game and the 1st quater in the miami game. He might turn out to be the guy, but I'm all for competion. I'd like to see a lot more consistency before I back losman. Right now he's just another guy. Oh and I agree about Jay Cutler. He has kyle boller written all over him, which is a step down from what I had losman pegged as the next Jake Plummer.
  10. I can Patrick Ramsey is gun shy. He has a tendancy to hold the ball way to long. Spurrier probably killed any confidence that guy had. Making the trade for the sake of "screwing" a division opponent isn't really sound management. Ramsey might have a big time arm, but he doesn't have it. If we were gonna trade for a qb I'd rather Matt Schaub theres also guys like Charlie Whitehurst and Brodie Croyle who I'd rather have in the draft.
  11. BINGO!!! We have a winner. If Matt Leinart is the best available player when the bills pick then that should be the guy they go with. Just like if Mario Williams is the best available player that should be the guy. You don't reach for talent just because you have to fill a space.
  12. No sh-- ya dont say, but that doesn't mean they can't adress the offensive line just cause they pick a qb in the first rd. Theres only one offensive linemen worth drafting at 8 anyway and Dbrick will be gone by then. We do have more then 1 pick in the draft last time I checked. This excuse doesn't fly. We need linemen, I know that you know that everyone knows that. I wasn't advocating trading up to draft leinart. I was simply saying if Leinart falls to us I'd rather have him then Losman. This has no basis as "DRAFT LEINART AND NO LINEMEN"
  13. I realize Losman has only had 8 starts but honestly this staff has no connection to him. This staff didn't draft him. He's not "their guy" in that sense. Now that they might think he could be the qb of the future, but it's not out of the realm of possibilty that they could take a qb. I'd gladly drop Losman for Matt Leinart for cutler or young no thank you.
  14. Feel better now I come to the board cause honestly I like to write, and I like to talk about football, so it does give me an outlet to do those two things. Now High profile teams get players because they pay well for them. Like you stated the bills are approaching it as they can offer market value and get good players. The fact is they can't. While many people on this board might be from WNY, and feel a strong connection the area, the fact remains most players could give a damn. They dont play for a town, they play for a check, and if they happen to win along the way they're happy. If they dont win they complain. Personally I dont know what coach could do better here. Our problem isnt the lack of a high profile coach. If you're refering to Mike Sherman get off the boat. No one else wanted him to be their coach so he took an assistant gig with the texans. Teams will get good players when they pay good money. The Redskins aren't a model to look at. Who did they really get that was worthwhile? You want to pay Adam Archuletta 5 million a year and make the richest safety in nfl history? Adamn Archuletta is just barely better then Coy Wire. Randel El had all over 35 catches, and they're paying more for the de they picked up then we are for aaron schobel. Dick Jauron seems by all accounts a well respected coach and a guy that relates well to players. Granted I haven't seen Robert Royal play all that much, but I've seen enough of Mark Cement Shoes Campbell to know I didnt want to see any more. The defense we're going to be running calls for quick penetrating dt's exactaly what triplett is. I wont be sold on the Matt Bowen signing. Theres no way he's an upgrade over Lawyer Milloy, but there wasn't many good safeties in free agency. The draft now thats where we can get our future starting ss. Andre Davis is a good st's player and a decent receiver. He's an upgrade over Sam Aiken and Jonathan Smith. One of the biggest things this team has lacked the past few years is overall team speed. We've been too slow on offense. I'm still holding out hope we sign John Runyan and Stephen Neal followed by a solid draft. I just think all this woe is us,pitty party mantra is a little on the overkill side. It sucks not having been competative for awhile now, but It is possible this front office knows what they are doing. Try and have patience.
  15. Guys like Runyan, Tom Ashworth, Mike Pearson, Ephraim Salaam, Rex Tucker, Anthony Clement, kenyatta walker are all still available. Theres also the thing called the nfl draft, just saying dont jump yet.
  16. That would definitly solidify the lines for a long while, and we might actually get some sweet production out of our skill players. I'm hoping he falls but I doubt it.
  17. Simmons is a good signing if he can stay healthy. He seems to be injured just about every year. The last time he played a full season was in 2001. Stoutmeyer is ok at best.
  18. Not really considering Krumrie is with the chiefs now.
  19. FWIW Jets | Abraham headed to Seattle? Fri, 17 Mar 2006 14:15:45 -0800 Adam Schefter, of NFL.com, reports there is speculation the New York Jets have traded DE John Abraham to the Seattle Seahawks for the 31st selection in the upcoming NFL Draft. The deal would be contingent on the Seahawks being able to sign him to a long-term deal.
  20. Good I felt reed played well enough last year to get another shot, and if nothing else helps solidify our wr depth.
  21. Patrick Ramsey might've taken one too many hits the past few seasons and be damaged goods, but for the price the jets gave for him it's well worth the risk. I think a healthy pennington is better then a healthy ramsey though.
  22. A 2nd for losman? lmao We'd be lucky to get a 6th
  23. We need a lt not a rt but otherwise yeah spot on.
